A miss opportunity!
The sound team is definitely to par, the first episode had me feel the budget burn, it was fantastic.
Then they chose the most awkward place to start.
Let me guess why they did not adapt Muvluv and Unlimited instead. They are too cliche in the modern context. They are stuff that is close to 20 years old, prehistoric in the internet age. If you used their plot, they would be even seen as satire.
What I wish they did was at least have a recap episode, to let you roughly know the character relationships, that the MC was a lucky bastard who one day

This is probably everything i wanted in an anime back then when it came out.
This is probably the no.1 or 2 in my heart from sunrise. Gundam Seed was good but destiny definitely did not follow through Gundam Age was good for killing time only, nothing really captures the audience. Steel blood orphans is something you get from throwing a lot of money at to get a remotely good anime. But nothing like code geass will make you remember for years. A fantastic story, gorgeous art(it is sunrise and it was the best during its period of airing) you get a colourful cast, and everyone has a role to play, there ... Jan 5, 2017
This is one of those anime where either you love it, or you hate it.
You will love it if you are familiar with the Chinese Taoist cultivation themes. You will be weirded out if you do not, the anime also does not give much explanation until further into the story. The good: the story is about overcoming trials and ascending deity-hood. It portrayed that side of cultivating life well. If you watched the first half of the season you are sure to see all the tests for choosing a disciple. Those are tests you never see in other anime, and makes the entrance test into so many ... |
