Perfect Blue

Ok, so there's not much in common as far as stories go but they do share similar moods and a rather serious style to their respective storytelling. They both also deal with and contemplate the nature of the human psyche. I recommend Perfect Blue mostly because I watched the two almost back to back and while I personally think Perfect Blue is the better film it's quite a bit darker than Ghost in the Shell. I enjoyed them both immensely and I feel you will too. So in summary, both films while lacking in obvious similarities are close in their story telling styles and the underlying exploration of the mind, be it human or the ghost in the machine. I hope you enjoy them both as much as I did.

Ok so Zombie Powder was never completed but it's still an amazing manga. Dogs has a distinct coolness to it which I think you'll see in the characters of Zombie Powder as well. Zombie Powder's gang like Haine and friends have a mysterious past filled with violence, loss and who knows what else. I think both are character pieces so if you like one than the other shouldn't be that far a stretch, besides, both have great fight scenes. :) By the way Zombie Powder was created by Tite Kubo before he made Bleach, just thought you ought to know ;)

Unbelievable, and Unbelievably charismatic characters. Fast paced story and just as fun to watch... though be careful there's a bit of angst in Durarara... more dilemma of a serious nature less FLCL Naota emo-ness. XP
