This anime is heart-warming, calming, it's sweet, it's charming, it's pretty, the music is relaxing and energizing, and I am so incredibly glad to have seen it. It immediately became one of my favourite slice-of-life genre shows.
Each episode deals with a different story and with new characters coming to their cute cafe, and only 2 episodes in I was emotionally invested in the lives of these 4 gentlemen handling the cafe and I felt incredibly protective of their craft and of their lives.
It briefly shows how small shop owners who take their craft seriously are so far apart from the other 'chain' restaurants that ... people tend to prefer nowadays, and how damaging it can be to the originality of cooking, and as someone who dreams of going to Japan someday, whenever I do go there, I will plan my itinerary to explore smaller parts of cities and go to small cafes instead! So this show definitely has had a positive effect on me and for that I am thankful.

why are you still reading this? Junichi Suwabe always picks amazing anime to work in, and this one is no different. I started watching it to hear his voice and because the art style looked amazing and the story turned out to be amazing too. Rightfully labelled 'slick' on Netflix, this show had some great cons with the character's relationships and the music being a huge bonus.
The end of each con can be a bit predictable but I truly have no interest in watching an anime where the intelligent and heart-broken con artists lose at their own ... game. It was fun to see this crew work together, then fall apart, and then come together again over some newly discovered schmuck they decided to take down that month.
It kinda reminded me of the Ocean series at times and only in the best way possible.
A great watch, right till the end.

This show is a must watch for all classic lovers, whether it is music or romance! Despite the romance being fairly light in the show, one of my favourite things is how each of the characters interact with each other, and with the female lead, before 'falling' for her in some way or the other.
Unlike many shows where the 'likeness' seems to develop out of thin air, this show had every MC with some sort of a connection and a real relationship with the female lead outside of their respective trope, and had their own interesting story that develops along-with that of the female character. ...
Coming to Hino Kahoko, she was really sweet, for lack of a better word, and through her honest and forthcoming personality, she brings out the best in everyone around her, which made her really likeable according to me.
The music is amazing to listen to and the pieces they selected truly suited each characters' personality well. As the show ended, you could tell the characters had developed into more grounded and confident versions of themselves, aside from maybe a couple of them. I have re-watched tidbits of this show over the past few years, after I saw it for the first time over 10 years ago, and it still makes me smile.

I think I started the show because the idea of a socially awkward girl trying to find her own voice and make a 100 (!) friends sounded interesting and fun.
Many aspects, like where she wanted to ask a question but was too shy or embarrassed to do it, or when she was overthinking her actions and second guessing herself and losing sleep over her thoughts, and when she tried her best to say yes to others to get involved in their shenanigans even if that 'yes' was communicated through notes, all that and much more was what I found a bit relatable and what ... I liked a lot about the show.
The characters grew on me and Najimi's voice actor did a great job in making her (him?) sound hilarious. I also loved all the pun-names of all the characters, specially Tadano Hitohito xD

It was a little slow in many parts, specially where the female lead made it look like she had a trauma of not being able to speak at all, rather than of being anxious. Even after she managed to be friends with people for months she stuck to her notes which was annoying a bit tbh.

But overall a cute show.
