I came across this movie while i was looking through some animes that were on sale. As it only was like 4$ I thought I’d buy it. I didn’t really expect anything from it, since it was Korean and all, but I was pleasantly surprised..
[5]Story: The story had potential, and had this been a series with at least 12 episodes I think it would have been really good. But as it stands we only have a movie and the 1.5 hours of playtime is not nearly enough to explore the desolated world we are introduced to in ‘Wonderful Days’. If you want to know
...
the premise of the show, just read the Synopsis here on MAL, no need for me to go through it here. There really isn’t anything more to say about the plot. If you liked the premise you should have no problem watching the show and enjoying it for its other aspects, just don’t expect anything more than the premise..
[9]Art: The art is probably the very best thing about this movie, and this is what makes those 1.5 hours of your life worth the watch. It’s especially the backgrounds that amazes me and I think only Makoto Shinkai has done better (of the animes I’ve seen this far). The backgrounds are dark and depressing in tone and they seem very realistic. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been a sucker for flashy technology stuff, and this movie is no let down on that department. Flashy computers, elevators and whatnot, everything beautifully animated. Had to use my “drool-bucket” again. The thing that kept this movie from getting a 10 here is the characters. The thing with the characters is that they have a much brighter tone to them than the backgrounds, so they don’t really match up, if you know what I mean. Animations and all were fluid, so no problems there. This may be my personal taste though, and its nothing major anyway, but just thought I’d mention it.
[7]Sound: The sound is pretty good, but I’ve heard better. The sound is better than average, but it was only enough to get it up to a 7. I can’t say much about the voice acting really since I watched it in Korean. It just felt very different from Japaneese, and I don’t think I can give a very good opinion about it so I’ll just leave it untouched. I’ll just say though that the voice acting wasn’t disturbing or anything like that, so I guess I can say it wasn’t bad at least.
[6] Characters: The characters were much like the story, unexplored. Again I think it’s because of time constraints. Even though the characters doesn’t have any real development you can understand why they are doing what they are doing and so on. This score would have been lower would it not have been for the side characters which I think have some good personalitys that fit the setting of the anime and are appropriate to where the characters live (Ecoban/outside).
[7] Enjoyment: I enjoyed this movie quite a bit and I think it was well-worth my time. It’s a shame that such a good storyline was destroyed by time constraints though. All in all this was a pleasant surprise to see what the Koreans can do. If you just need something new, relatively short and artistically awesome, then watch this, you won’t be disappointed.

So i finally decided to watch the kara no kyoukai movies. They seemed fairly popular and I’ve had good experience from the anime movies I’ve seen so far. Well apart from bleach and naruto movies, they are just bad.
[6]Story: So the story is about this girl called Shiki and this guy called Mikiya. We also got a character called Touko that’s the boss of the detective firm that the other two works at. These three are our main characters. So, strange suicides begin in the city they live in and Mikiya falls mysteriously ill. Shiki then sees a girl take her life, and
...
realizes there is a connection between the suicides and now tries to stop whatever is causing them. To be honest, the story is fucked up. You don’t get an explanation to anything really and on top of that it’s a pretty boring watch overall. I got loads of things I wanted to know more about, but in the end none of my questions were answered. Perhaps it would have been better had the movie been longer, because 50 minutes is way too little time. There are some good scenes though, and sure, this could server well as an introduction to the series, because there are like 5 (?) movies left for me to watch. The only way I can say that the story was good is if I see it this way, that it was an introduction to the series.
[9]Art: Probably the best thing about this movie. The art was very good and the animation fluently. I especially liked the backgrounds and all they really matched the feel of the movie. The coloring was also good, it was always this “dark” tone in every scene, which I think fit perfectly. Really I was drooling at the backgrounds..
[7]Sound: The sound was pretty good, but nothing outstanding. The thing I liked the most was the ending theme, which I now have on my Ipod. Sometimes I would notice the background music, and sometimes I wouldn’t think about it at all. All in all, it was decent. As for the voice acting it was ok, but you’ll notice it isn’t exactly Hirano Aya or Fukuyama Jun doing it if you get what I mean. But yea, The voice actors dont really get any time to show what they can do as the movie is rather short and isnt exactly packed with good "talking" scenes.
[6]Characters: The characters were really bad, really really bad. To me the characters are perhaps the most important thing in an anime, and if you have good characters you can get a good story just out of that really. But here we are presented to our three main characters, and throughout the movie we don’t get to know much about them, and because we don’t get to know them, there cant be any character development either. Also there is a lack of side characters, and because of this the world feels a bit empty. Again this may be due to the fact that the movie is only 50 minutes long, and again I’ll be forgiving since this is the first movie in the series. But still!
[6]Enjoyment: The enjoyment score is an important one, because that’s why I watch, I want to be entertained. As I said the movie is lacking in many aspects and its kind of boring, but it left me wanting to watch the other movies, because I wanted to know more about the characters. I really think the characters can be interesting, if the other movies explore them unlike this one. As I said I think that some scenes were good, and I loved the art/animation. All in all it managed to entertain me quiet a bit, mostly because of the eerie feeling it gave off, but it wasn’t enough to get the score very high.i was wavering between a 5 and a 6, but in the end I decided to go with a 6. All in all I give the movie a 7 with the hope that the other movies will be better.
Thank you for reading.

This is one of those shows that i really looked forward to, and the first 2-3 episodes almost got me feel I was high on something, but then …
[5]Story: Alright, so the story begins with introducing the main character, Takumi. He is an Otaku that has failed at life basically, living in a container with his computer and anime figures totally isolated from the world excluding the few occasions he goes to school on. The thing that will catch your attention right of the start is that Takumi is having severe delusions that alter his reality. Right after the first episode we get thrown
...
into a murder case, which Takumi is somehow connected to. It is hinted that he is suffering from Scizophrenia and/or other pshycological issues. This makes one want to know more. Who is the murder? Can it be Takumi himself, doing it with another personality? Anyhow, a lot of questions pop up leaving you in despair once the episode is over and you realize you don’t have the next episode downloaded. So what does the anime make out of all this? Ill make it short: Nothing. The pshycological feel is totally crushed in episode 4 when we get to know a little of the truth about everything and the anime here derails into some sort of bad fantasy adventure with swords and what-not. oh, did I forget to mention that Takumis harem also steadily arrives as the show progresses? That’s right, weird girls keep coming up all the time, and all but one of them likes takumi. I was going to score the story a 6, but while I was writing this I remembered how I had trouble finishing the show, so it gets a 5.
[7]Art: Well, it is Madhouse, so I cant say anything other than its good. The only thing lacking was the characters, and especially the girls. They just felt to.. animated! I don’t know, they just felt lifeless to me. The backgrounds and such we’re good though. So the art gets a 7, had the characters been better it would have gotten an 8.
[7]Sound: I have nothing to complain on about the sound, but im not going to praise it either. Its mediocre, perhaps even a little better than that. The good thing about the sound is that they used the appropriate sound at the right moments, which gives a better feel to the show as a whole.
As for the voice acting, I think that Takumis VA did a great job. He expressed Takumis feelings really good, and it made him come to live, unlike the other characters. That said, I don’t think that the other voice actors did a bad job, but it wasn’t really memorable in any way. So the sound gets a 7, much like the art, it could have gotten an 8 had it just been a little better.
[5]Characters: ok, so what to say about the characters. I already introduced Takumi to you, but ill just rant a little more about him anyway. So as I said he is a looser otaku with delusions bla bla, and he is perhaps, the best characters in the whole show. To be more exact, I think that he is the best character. His life situation is pictured pretty well, he is an otaku that doesn’t know that much about life, have a hard time socializing with people etc. it all makes him feel alive. This said its not like I think that he’s a VERY good characters, he’s fine, that’s all. All the other characters are stereotypes you’ll hate as soon as you see them, or else you’ll learn to hate them as the show progresses. There really isn’t anything to say about them, they are just uninteresting and have no real personality nor feel to them. I was a little unsure if I should give it a 5 or a 6 as a score, but in the end it got a 5. Takumi just wasn’t enough to cover the fact that all the other characters sucked.
[5]Enjoument: The first episodes was great, then it derailed. After having watched around half the show I had it on “on-hold” for some weeks before finishing it. Even now I don’t really know why I just didn’t drop it there. This should speak for itself as for how much I enjoyed the ride. The show tries to be serious, but fails. Its just like how Death note tries to be to serious sometimes, just that you don’t laugh at Death note on those occasions… Imagine Light throwing the death note away, then he buys a sword and goes around killing criminals with it. Still trying to be as serious as before. That’s kind of how Chaos head is/was. Anyway, it gets a 5, and this goes for the overall score aswell.
Thank you for reading!

Ok, i’ve been meaning to write a review for a show for a while now, and now i finally got the time. So here it is.
[3]Story: So the story is pretty simple. The setting is a future world where we have espers, highly evolved science, magicians, guys with random powers no one knows shit about, well you get the deal. So our main guy is Touma, a complete noob (ya, really.). He has been haunted by misfortune since he was born, and he is unable to use magic or esper abilitys. What he do have though, is a random power no
...
one knows shit about. Cool eh? Apparently his right hand possess the power to break any esper ability, spell and what not. the downside is that Touma himself can’t use magic or anything like that. Anyway, he meets this girl called index who apparently memorizes everything she sees, and she has memorized a whole book with spells in it. So a shit load of stuff happens, Touma meets some weird people, kick some ass, and then kicks some more ass. Then we go to the next arc. I should add that this show is so heavily divided into arcs that every arc could be a new season. This can be a good thing in some cases, but here it is not. Anyway, so the first arc was about his saving Index life bla bla. the next arc is about Misaka, a side character. Guess what the arc after that is about? Ye, Misaka. This show could really be called “Toaru majutsu no Misaka”. She’s one of those side characters that really steal the show. So the story gets a pretty low score, basically because it makes to heavy use of arcs and don’t bind them togheter. The main female character, which the show is even named after, is basically forgotten. Bad.
[7]Art: The art was good, animations were good. I have nothing to complain about. I should add that im no art expert whatsoever, so this is a score that don’t influence the final score as much as other things.
[4]Sound: OP was fine, ED was meh. This doesn’t really matter in the rating of the show, but its fun mentioning!. Anyway, the music used in the show isn’t really something we haven’t heard before, but ye, it wasn’t that good. Its like, you don’t notice there even is a soundtrack, its just there because without it, it would sound weird!
The voice acting was like the soundtrack, just a little better. I liked Misakas voice though..
[5]Characters: for me one of the most important aspects of a show is the characters. The characters in this show was really hard to like, except for Misaka. She atleast, have some development. The other characters were all kinda meh. It seems some people likes Index, and ye ok, she wasn’t all that bad BUT. She has like 0 screen time. Zero. I atleast didn’t like her, no development, to little screen time. As for the main character, he is hard to like imo. Its not that he got to little screen time, its just that he’s very unoriginal, boring, full of fail and somehow, liked by all the other characters. He’s sort of like the main character in school days, just that he doesn’t fuck everything that comes in his way.
[5]Enjoyment: well, If you have read the whole thing here above, you probably know what you’r about to read now. Ye, I didn’t like the show that much. Sure it got its sunny moments sometimes, it got me chuckle a time or two, but it just doesn’t make up for the fact that the show is fail. Fail fail fail. Im going to go ahead and give the show a 5. The show is still airing (seen 20 episodes right now), and if the ending somehow is very, very good then the score may be raised to a 6. But as it seems now, the show isn’t heading that way. If you want to turn off your brain and just watch something, watch this, and think of it like “toaru majutsu no Misaka”. You could skip the first arc for all what it matters.
Thank you for reading !
