I was looking forward to another royalty reincarnation/time travel/evil person that is actually really nice romance show but unfortunately, the writing sucks.
The show is full of stereotypical tropes. Tragic backstories, serious tones, and every conversation that conveys emotion fall flat. I cannot immerse myself in the story and enjoy watching the show with such poor writing. Everything is predictable and boring.
The story setting includes magic. In one scene, the female lead defends the male lead against enemy ship cannons with her bare fists while levitating in the air, then picks up their ship and throws it to the dock. The action and magic

This anime is probably the biggest fall-off I have ever seen.
The first few episodes were genuinely some of the most interesting beginnings of a show. The concept and story was very unique and fantastic to watch. An honest 10/10 show from the get-go. Then it fell off. Fell off hard. It managed to go from a 10/10 to a low 6/10 by the end. The story branched off into weird stuff and no longer had what made it so good. After the Rain is a pretty anime, the main character is gorgeous, and there are many close-up shots of her face and eyes. It was an enjoyable watch with many adorable moments. It's a cute romance but it's wholesome and realistic. It does not lead to anywhere. Potentially a good show ruined by CGI.
The story structure is somewhat similar to Kono Oto Tomare, so if you enjoyed that anime you will likely enjoy this one as well. The biggest downfall of this series so far is the budget. At first glance, you would think this show was created a decade ago and not in 2023. The art quality feels a lot worse than other shows.
