Most of us have been through highschool. But our lives definitely weren't as funny as they are illustrated in this manga.
Daily Lives of Highschool Boys is an outstanding gag manga, and so, one of my favourite comedies written to date. It had me furiously laughing whenever I had a read. The concept is a very simple one. It just illustrates daily lives of highschool students in a silly yet funny manner. The manga takes situations that every highschooler at some point in their life might have encountered, exaggerates them a little, and turns it into a gag, which most of the times is nothing short
...
of ridiculously hilarious.
There was not a single chapter I didn't enjoy. Each chapter is a little skit of about 8 pages. The length of each chapter is absolutely perfect in my opinion, and the format is preferable as well. You read 8 pages, you laugh it off and the end. This manga is by no means comparable to other comedies like Gintama or SKET Dance, but I do not mean this in a bad way. I'm saying this because Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou is in a league of its own. It nails the "Highschool Comedy" genre to the core.
The characters are, of course, the center of all the comedy. There are a variety of characters, but no real main character. There's everyone from a pervert guy to a romanticist girl to an extremely serious guy to a perfectly average guy and so on. You get the idea, it's a fairly unorthodox cast. While some characters may not get as much 'screen time' as others, they're sure to entertain you in whatever little time they get.
It may not be every reader's cup of tea in terms of its humour, but if you're a fan of good comedy, you might want to give this a second thought.
That said, I really hope that the manga gets continued in the coming years. I am sure to miss it when I'm done with it.

WARNING: This review contains spoilers. You have been warned.
Also, this review is a review for the whole series uptill now (Season 1 and OVA + Season 2 and OVA)
Where do I even start with this anime...
Story: 2/10
Season 1: It's been about a week since I've finished this series, so I don't remember the exact story very well. Here's what I know. Mio's (MC) parents (apparently Demon Lords) abandon her to keep her safe from threats and let their friends(?) raise her. Things go on smoothly until some devil finds out that Mio is being raised by someone else. They find out who and kill them.
...
Mio is once again left alone, and runs away, but this time with the help of a newly met servant. After that, she meets a guy who knows who she is and agrees to raise her along with Basara (his son). From then on, there's a nude scene in almost every episode. And don't blame me for getting some parts of the story wrong. I'm a guy. How the hell can I concentrate on the story with the show these 'siblings' put on.
OVA 1: Oh boy, shit gets real here. Basara is invited home by his hot teacher. She tries to seduce him, both get into the bath and you know what happens next. "But wait Ryan, I am pretty sure I've heard a story like this before" - You, the reader say. Yes you have. It's the story of every teacher/student porn.
Season 2: 13 episodes in and I thought I knew what to expect from the series in season 2. But they still surprise you. In episode 7, they have a full-fledged orgy before battle. As if the anime wasn't hentai enough already.
OVA 2: OVAs nowadays exist for fanservice. That's all this OVA was. Except that it was extremely close to being a hentai, as was the whole franchise.
Art: 3/10
Sound: 2/10
The art and animation were pretty mediocre, except in Season 2 and it's OVA. They put little to no effort in animating the Giant Spirits well. And in some scenes in the OVA, Mio's face was distorted.
Character: 1/10
I dislike many Harem characters, but this series takes the cake. Every harem has girls trying to seduce the guy. But this one.... it has them butt naked trying to do so. The girls were so dense. Everytime they have an orgy, they call it 'getting stronger'... It sounds absolutely pathetic imo.
Enjoyment: 2/10
Overall: 1/10
I guess this was more of a rant than a review. Anyways, the excessive nudity and borderline hentai in this anime makes it one of the worst anime out there. You would be better off watching real hentai.

WARNING: This review contains spoilers. Please read further at your own risk.
Judging by the anime cover, Bokurano may look like every mecha anime ever, with giant robots in action against monsters. But do not be deceived. In reality, it’s a whole different story.
Story: 9/10
During summer camp, a group of 15 kids search a mysterious cave and discover that there’s a working computer and accessories inside. They meet a guy who claims that he is a game developer and just finished making a game in which a giant robot has to fight huge monsters to save the earth. He persuades them to make a contract first
...
in order to play the game. After they finish up with the contract, they’re teleported inside the giant robot. One of them gets chosen as the captain who gets to control the robot, while others sit beside him/her and watch. After each win, the captain’s life energy is taken by the robot, so the captain dies. The story has very little focus on the mecha fights. The thing to shed light on was the backstories of each character. It was very well written and never got boring. Each character had his/her own unique story.
In my opinion, the episode directing was 'meh' during 2 or 3 episodes. When they won the first fight and Takashi Waku (Pilot 1) died, his friends didn’t even react to it. I mean like literally, not a single shit was given. They just stood there and watched him fall off a dam.
Animation: 7/10
Sound: 7/10
Not gonna emphasize on the animation and sound, as they were neither bad nor too good. They were just right.
Character, judging by character likability: 7/10
Let me put the spotlight on the two extreme sides of the cast.
Hated Characters.
Isao Kako (Captain #3): Rapist piece of shit. My second-most hated character of the series. He can go to hell. He was your typical “Why is all this happening to me only?” guy. Before piloting, he tried to rape Chizuru. He died before even getting a chance to pilot Zearth.
Chizuru Honda (Captain #4): Too naive for her own good. She got banged by her teacher and he leaked the pictures on the internet. Kinda feel bad for her but at the same time I hate her a lot. It’s her own fault for trying to get too comfy with a teacher.
Hiroyuki Hatagai (Chizuru’s Teacher): Where do I even start with this guy? I hate his guts, down to the very core. I wish Chizuru had killed him when she had the chance.
Liked Characters.
Mako Nakarai (Captain #6): She was an average girl. She fell short of money and tried to resort to prostitution. Lucky for her, she unknowingly met one of her mom’s friends as her first customer. It felt good he guided her to the right path. After that, he drove her to the bar where she met her mom and her friends. All of them were really kind to her and she learned her lesson. She ended up fighting hard to protect what needed to be protected: her mom and friends.
Kunihiko Moji (Captain #7): His dying wish was for his heart to be donated to his friend, who had a heart disease. Good guy Moji.
Yoko Machi (Captain #13): She was at her brother’s side in the beginning, but thank god she shot that bastard, +1 for her.
Jun Ushiro (Captain #14): I hated him at first. He treated Kana very badly. But in the end, he does care for her and becomes the pilot instead of Kana.
Kana Ushiro (Jun’s sister): Liked her for being able to put up with her brother’s shit.
Extras.
The remaining cast was also good, especially the backstory of Misumi.
Enjoyment: 7/10
Overall: 7/10
It was interesting peeking into the backstories and lives of so many characters in a 24-episode anime. To wrap it up, it’s a great psychological and unique mecha anime.

WARNING: This review contains some spoilers. You have been warned.
Where to begin. I started watching this show expecting something good, since the sypnosis sounded thrilling and suspenseful.
Story: 7/10
The first 3.5 episodes were great (7.5/10).. It seemed a lot like Elfen Lied (One of my favorites). It had the same concept of a bunch of girls with superpowers escaping from a testing lab. The pacing was a little bit rushed but still within the watchable range. But from there, it only went downhill. Fan service took over the rest of the show. The story kept rushing on due to fan service hogging a lot of screen
...
time.
Animation: 7/10
Sound: 4/10
The animation was on par.
But the placing of soundtracks was horrible. There was no good OST during thrilling moments. On the contrary, it was totally silent. It made zero sense.
Character: 1/10
The characters got pretty pathetic after episode 3.
- Neko got upset everytime a girl tried to get close to Ryouta.
- Kazumi, a girl only with the team to try to get laid with Ryouta.
- Kana, your generic Tsundere.
- Kotori, your clumsy, big-boobed "pig" as Kazumi called her.
- Lets not forget Ryouta, the guy who acts mighty and tries to shelter every girl he finds, which inturn leads to all of the cast liking him. (But he doesn't date anyone in the end)
You get the idea. It turned from a good thriller to a generic Ecchi/Harem.
Enjoyment: 4/10
Overall: 5/10
5/10 only because the first 3 episode were on par. The rest of the Harem shit makes me sick.
Thank You for reading this review, more of a rant though.

Please read further at your own risk since this review contains SPOILERS.
Also. my memory’s a bit hazy since watched this movie a little over 2 weeks ago, so please correct me if I’m mistaken in any part.
At the time of writing this review, I have not watched the top 2 rated One Piece Movies (One Piece Strong World and Film Z). Hence I’ll claim this movie to be my favorite movie amongst the One Piece movies so far because others have their eyes on adventure as the main theme, which for me is average. When I first saw the cover of this movie on MAL,
...
I was sure that it would be really crappy. I was also surprised to see how high this movie is rated compared to other OP Movies. But as the mainstream saying goes, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”.
One Piece has always been known for its adventurous world, light hearted comedy (which sometimes isn’t funny) and its focus on friendship between the crewmates. This movie takes it one step further in terms of friendship between the crew. It does have a few plot-holes though.
Story: 8/10
To begin with, the movie starts out pretty average as you have the Straw Hats sailing the sea and finding a mysterious island. On the island they meet the island inhabitants and are put through a series of games to determine if they get to stay on the island. That’s all I can describe about the introduction.
Midway, chopper separates from the crew as he isn’t participating in the games. He meets a father and his daughters who tell him that Baron’s (King-ish person of the island) main goal is to separate and destroy the friendship among pirate crews. Baron spies on them and shoots Chopper with a tranquilizer which causes him to lose consciousness.
Meanwhile Zoro + Sanji and Nami + Ussop compete against Baron’s friends in the games. If you watch One Piece, you know that Zoro and Sanji never get along. Nami and Ussop also get tricked by the competitors when they set up Ussop so that Nami thinks that he betrayed her.
This movie is the outlier amongst other One Piece movies as the story’s core focus isn’t adventure this time around. Instead, this story touches a deeper topic, which is the bonds between the Straw Hat Crew. From my point of view, I felt like the story was very dark and has a sense of true mystery in it.
Art: 8/10
The movie begins with below average animation and deformed characters in some frames (almost like the animation in OP Chopper Special, but tad bit better). The character outlines are very thin, and the colors used are a little darker. It appeals as a comedic movie in a sense actually. But as it progresses, you’ll start to understand why they used this kind of animation. One of the last scenes especially was very well done, where the flower on Baron’s shoulder transforms into this gruesome thing.
Sound: 7/10
No comments about the music since I can’t seem to recall it.
Character: 9/10
The focus on characters was intense in this one. It also tells you about Nami’s nature, because she refuses to let Ussop talk and explain himself (that he was set up by Baron). Ussop inturn also gets upset with her and stops talking to her. Zoro and Sanji, fiesty as always against each other. These four, thinking about each other’s betrayal, also get aggressive with Luffy when he tries to council and talk to them. Robin and Chopper were solo and got abducted, so nothing to elaborate on about them.
Enjoyment: 9/10
Overall: 8/10
In the end, you get a great fight, Luffy vs Baron. The fighting sequence is very well done and is really immersive.
I absolutely loved the nature of this movie. It’s quite dark-themed, mysterious and focuses on a sensitive topic. I’d recommend this movie to OP fans looking for something a little different from the other OP movies.

WARNING: The following review contains spoilers if you haven’t watched the prequel yet, read further at your own risk.
Two words. Holy Cow.
This movie was such an elevation from the series. It had the aspects of a near perfect “Missing Piece Movie”.
- Story 8/10
Honestly, this movie made me change my 'Kyoukai no Kanata' score from 7 to 8. It makes perfect sense to do so as well. Originally, I thought that the Kyoukai no Kanata series had a happy ending, which was…. you know, too straightforward in my opinion. But as soon as the movie starts, you find out that SHE LOST HER MEMORIES!! This breaks
...
your heart a little and it’s what made me change my score of the prequel. Since it wasn't your average, ordinary, everyday happy-ending.
- Art 9/10
- Sound 9/10
The animation went up, compared to the series, and the music composition was amazing as well. Brilliantly composed OSTs, just as in the prequel.
- Character 8/10
Okay so, in the prequel, I didn't get too much feels, since the character development wasn't the best there was to offer in a 12 episode series. But this movie had just enough character development from the past to make the viewers really feel what the character in the movie were feeling. I was thrilled and got the feels at the climax moments of the movie.
- Enjoyment 9/10
- Feels 9/10
- Overall 9/10
I absolutely loved this movie. What wasn't there to enjoy?
Would rewatch it 100%, just like ‘The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya’

WARNING: The following review contains some spoilers, please read further at your own risk.
Let me start by taking some of the negative reviews into account. I do not understand what there is not to understand in this anime. What part of it can possibly be so confusing? It’s just plain simple, it expands to all the kings in this sequel, does not involve any mystery which was there in K (Which was the rather “confusing” bit).
- Story 7/10
The story in K: Return of Kings is just an extension to the story in K. It further adds 2 kings and removes 2. Which again sums up
...
to 5 total Kings. It involves the same deal they’re up with in the movie, which is JUNGLE. (Green Clan + Grey King)
- Art 8/10
- Sound 7/10
Who wouldn't love K franchise’s flashy animation and music? GoHands especially showed off their animation in Episode 1 of this Sequel. The CGI was impressively applied to some surrounding objects (Cars etc.). The composition was done well too, just like in season 1.
Also, I’d also like to mention that increasing Seri and Neko’s “Panty Shot” frequency is a lame way to try to up the ratings :P (Personally, I didn't really care about that)
- Character 6/10
There wasn't much of character development for side characters in the anime (Although the character developing side stories are available in the form of Novels which I don’t know where to find). I would have especially loved if they expanded Gouki Zenjou’s past in the anime, since he looked like an interesting character. They also skimmed through Neko’s past…. which I really wish they showed (By showed I mean animated, not in manga/novel form). They only mentioned that she was involved in the Damocles Down years ago and her real name. (Pardon me, I wrote this review some days after watching the series, so I forgot Neko’s real name). They skipped the part where Adolf L. Weissman had to abandon Shiro’s body and return to his original as well. (PM and correct me if I'm wrong, or was it the same body but grown up?)
- Enjoyment 7/10
Since this sequel focused on dialogue a bit, I would say it got a little boring mid-way. But since I don’t drop any anime, I had to keep going. Otherwise K was a great franchise. (It ended decently)
- Overall 6/10
K: Return of Kings was a bit of a let-down from its prequel, for me. I loved the first season mainly due to its mystery, Shiro’s interesting character and K’s artwork and animation. But still, this was a decent original franchise. In my opinion, K is a little underrated for an original series. I wonder if it mostly gets hate because the animation stands out too much (?)
PS. The Slate was destroyed and they all lost their king powers, so I don’t think there would be another season.
Well that’s it for me. Thanks for reading this review.

It is known fact that if you make an anime/movie adaptation off a video game , it will never be as successful as the video game itself, given that it has the same content and story. Video games allow you to experience and make your own decisions, which is not an option in movies/anime. Infact, many innovators actually believe that decision making video games MAY replace movies in the future (If you've played “Life is Strange”, you’d agree with this fact).
Anyhow, before you read any further, if you oppose this anime solely due to it not being able to live up to its video game
...
counterpart, I advise you to piss off. I'll write this review based solely on the anime itself, and will not compare it to the game (Not like I've played the game anyways).
Now for the anime itself. I started watching this anime, not expecting too much from it. As I finished watching episode 1, I was thinking of dropping it. But I must admit, shit got real from then on. Everything that happened had my full attention. And before I knew it, I had been indulged into it.
Story 7/10
Enjoyment 8/10
If I am to keep it spoiler free, I'd say that the story is very average to start with. It only gets interesting after the first murder. Since I haven't watched like 500 Anime series to be writing this review, the story was interesting for me. It kept me really really curious as to who the murderer might be. Some Mystery series fail to keep audiences curious (won’t mention them here). But luckily, Danganronpa wasn't one of them (For me at least, because I am a fan of Mystery series)
Art 8/10
Character 8/10
Sound 6/10
No doubt about it, the animation was very good. The character design was cute as well. I must admit, I did start this series only because I liked the character design. The only part I disliked was the "punishment" periods. Which I think were nabbed off of the video game (?), since it was pure CGI.
Overall 7/10
All and all, its an 7 for me because I love Mystery anime.

(Some SPOILERS) Read at your own risk.
(Also, for the review, Code Geass = CG)
Since this is my first review, I would like to be brief here.
In all honesty, I would call Guilty Crown a CG Spin-Off. More so, both the anime are the work of the same writer. So it really is fair to call this anime a CG Spin-Off.
Story: 6/10 (Since it's almost the same story as CG)
The Story revolves around a guy given mysterious superpowers by a girl (Wow this is so unheard of). The power’s name is “The Power of the Kings” (CG much?). He joins a terrorist group and uses these
...
powers to try to save Japan, from being controlled by a foreign organisation. (Again, totally not similar to CG). I would like to end this here since I feel like exposing more of the story would be too “spoil-ey”.
Art: 7/10
I loved the art in this anime, especially the vivid use of blue. It’s very eye-catching and one of my favorite colors.
Sound: 8/10
The music in this anime is very catchy. The centre of it, of course, is Inori’s voice actor.
Character: 4/10
I would have given 8/10 for character if MC wasn’t such a whiny kid.
Again, most of the characters are very very similar to CG characters. Like, I couldn’t believe that they would even recycle personalities. Especially some of the scenes.
*****Spoiler*****
- Both the anime involve MC’s being anti-hero at some point.
- And at one point when the MC’s are in big despair, they try to take advantage of the girl who has a crush on them.
*****Spoiler End*****
Enjoyment 7/10
Overall 6/10
All and All, I enjoyed this show a lot. Even though it was a Spin-Off, it was fun recalling CG which I happened to have watched about a year ago (10/10).
For CG fans who have watched CG a long time ago, I would suggest this series as it would be a good way to refresh CG memories.
Thank You for reading.
Bye.
