Given that many people aren’t fans of this adaptation, it’s understandable. I can't offer an opinion on that, since I haven't read the novel. However, if you take the time to appreciate the finer details, the series becomes much more enjoyable and intriguing. It can be frustrating when a beloved novel gets a poor-quality adaptation, which is why I prefer to watch the animation first—to avoid that disappointment.
