This was great. What do you do when life goes on and on without anything seemingly happening? Do you find joy in the little things, or do you get hung up on them?
Either way, time moves on and on. This work from Asano has such a tranquil start, and a much different flavor compared to his previous work, yet it is undoubtedly his own.

The beginning did not show much promise, other than setting up the world and some characters, and even further into the story (about a third of the way through), it didn't seem like the story was moving anywhere. Frankly, it was ...

Another interesting work by Ohkubo.
A lot more of a generic shonen than Soul Eater, whose style shines through and helps it become more memorable. Very interesting premise too, but a lot of actual filler chapters and very uninteresting characters plus the typical shonen tropes really don't help its case at all; there are various points in the series where it just feels like nothing is really going on... Soul Eater suffered from this at times, but not to this extent.

Megalo Box (Anime) add
Great anime from start to finish.
The characters, introduced as a mystery and slowly unraveled, are not fully explained, but they don't have to. This anime puts the focus on what is happening, rather than on who is making it happen.
Coming from having read Ashita no Joe three times, the homage is quite clear. As a review said, you can't retell or remake AnJ in the modern age, due to it being set in its era, and many societal values having shifted ever since.
