Both of these manga have strong female leads (and both have bits and pieces about samurai). There are many strong female and male characters in both series. There is also an emphasis on schools that have fighting as an everyday activity. There's no gender-bending in real bout (like there is in samurai high school), but both main characters are considered the strongest in the school. Additionally, there are minor love interest in both, but there isn't a focus on relationships. I enjoyed both because I personally love strong female leads and the main characters of both series were great. I also love action with small amounts of romance on the side, which is why I recommend both of these for anyone who has the same tastes as I do.
