Let's be honest here, it's hard not to give this show a great review. I wish I could rate it a 10 and be done. But the more I think about it, the less satisfied I am with Owari Season 2 being the "End" of the main story of the series. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of this season, but it didn't have the impact I was looking for.
Story: 7
Outside of the second arc of the show having no real point, the story was just as good as most of the other seasons. Most of the ongoing plots are wrapped up
...
nicely, and it sets up for a great continuation. The fact that it sells itself as the "final season", however, is something that detracts from it in my opinion, as it is quite clearly not.
*spoiler*
While it does wrap up the ongoing background plot, it does so in a very open ended manor that left me wanting more conclusion. The ending itself seems rather sudden, and a lot of the lead up to it seems wasted.
But overall, it was still a solid end to the first two seasons.
Art: 9
The art itself was up to par with the rest of the series, however, there was some kind of touch that it was missing, probably due to having a different director. The monogatari series had been losing its uniqueness slowly over the years when it came to the visuals, but in Owari S2, they seem to be all but absent, or rather a shell of their former self. That's probably a harsh way to describe it as I still rate it a 9, but that is how I feel, nonetheless.
Sound: 10
They definitely didn't lose their touch here. Great ED, and dark cherry mystery was immediately one of my favorite OPs from the series.
Character: 8
For most characters in the show, this was a nice wrap up. I would have loved to give the show a 10 here, as I think the characterization in the series as a whole is fantastic, but I can't help but feel a little injustice being done to Ougi's character at the end. I won't go into detail here, as I would have to actually discuss the shows ending, but it seems like she goes against her entire principals at the end of the show.
Also, many of the characters are simply in the series to make a cameo type appearance. And while it is obvious that they could not include every character, some of these cameos seem random and/or unneeded.
Enjoyment: 8
What can I say, I have yet to dislike anything to come out of this series. While this season didn't quite live up to what I wanted it to be, I still had a blast watching it, and did enjoy the ending, though not as much as I would have liked.
Also, one of the best jokes in the entire show is in the first few minutes of episode one.
Overall: 8
As a conclusion to the series, I find Owari S2 to be rather unfitting. However, as a bridge to the later installments, I think it works out fine. As long as this season isn't treated as the end, it stands up well with it's piers. With interesting (if somewhat foreseeable) reveals and twists, a decent ending, and outstanding story telling, Owari S2 doesn't disappoint and works as a great bridge between the initial saga of the series and potential later installments.

Going into the Spring 2016 season, strangely enough, this funny little SOL anime called Tanaka-kun is Always Listless caught my eye. I always have time for a good slice of life comedy, but it is rare that I actually look forward to one. Tanaka-kun, with its odd little description, hooked me and reeled me in before it even started, and I have to say, it lived up pretty well to my expectations.
Well, I suppose I'll get to the review now.
Story: 7
Not much to say here. The series is episodic in format, with little to no overlying story. It follows much the same formula as many
...
other slice of lifes, but it's lack of a strong plot is not a draw back. I would say that it is more of a fact that has little impact over the anime itself. I'm giving it a 7 on story because there's very little new here, but that isn't really a bad thing.
Art: 9
Bright yet soothing and calm visuals, good and not over the top character designs, and beautiful back drops. The art isn't ground breaking, but it is definitely a solid 9 on my scale.
Sound: 8
The OST fits the laid back mood of this anime to a T. The voice acting is great, I really think that the cast made the characters come alive (or go to sleep in some cases). The OP and ED are suiting, if forgettable.
Character: 9
While each character can loosely be put into the shapes of the different tropes, each has a unique personality that at least puts some twists and turns into their shape. The character interactions are great, and they even manage to add some character development for a few of the main cast members while maintaining quite a large number of regulars. Very well done.
Enjoyment: 9
Not every anime can make me laugh out loud at my computer screen, and the ones that can usually get a high rating in this category from me. Tanaka-kun is no exception. This was one of the only anime of the season that I actually knew the hour that it aired, and I looked forward to it every week.
Overall: 8
One of the best none-romance focused slice of life animes that I have ever seen. I would describe it as a slow paced, laid back comedy with a loose plot. Its definitely worth a try for those looking for a laugh.

Taking a single look at this anime, is becomes evident that Trigger is the studio behind it. The unique and vibrant visuals as well as having a colorful and mostly unique cast of characters is unmistakably theirs, but that seems to be where the similarities end.
Kiznaiver is a step away from their previous work, Kill la Kill, in a few big ways. Kill la Kill was centered around a relatively small cast of main characters, but with a color cast of side characters to fill the spaces. Kizvaiver takes a different approach, having eight characters as the focus and having few important side characters.
...
Also, where as Kill la Kill was action oriented and strongly plot driven, Kizaiver is more comparable to a drama or a slice of life.
Now, these changes definitely made distance between their two works, but was that for the best in the end? My answer to that question is both yes and no. I'll explain why in the body of the review.
Story: 6
Now, you would think for a story driven drama, the story would need to be string, right? Well, sadly, in kizaiver's case, it tends to feel confusing and pointless far more often then is feels driving. The plot seems to be there just as a tool to make the characters interact and feel emotions, and, in a way, I suppose that makes sense to the plot. That being said, it doesn't make the plot any better really. It isn't a terrible story, but there are a few holes and lose ends that never really go explained and motives which make little sense.
Art: 10
By far the best thing about this anime is the art. Beautiful, colorful, and unique, the art goes far to make up for what the anime lacks in some other aspects. The style is clearly Trigger, and the setting itself is very well done.
Sound: 9
Probably one of the best OP's of the season, and the ED was very good was well. Very good voice acting, and everything felt very well done.
Character: 7
While some of the character development was great, it felt as if a few of the characters were ignored for a vast majority of the show. 12 episodes is a short amount of time to try to introduce and develop 8 main characters, and I think they did a decent job with what they had. However, it seems as if it might have been too much for them, because a few of characters felt a little cardboard, or as if they were there more for decoration than for the plot. But all together, the characters were unique and well portrayed enough to earn a 7 from me.
Enjoyment: 7
Originally, I had rated enjoyment at an 8, however, after considering the fact that I had stopped watching this show after episode 4 and only continued after being goaded by a friend, I decided that 7 was probably a more accurate rating.
This show takes a while to get going, and at first it is a little hard to see what Trigger was going for. But once you get past the halfway mark, everything starts to fall into place, and the show gets much better and more enjoyable to watch.
Overall: 7
This was a decent follow up to Kill la Kill, although being in a very different genre. It was not the masterpiece that some had hoped for, but it was definitely not a bad show in any regard. I would recommend this show to those who are looking for a beautiful and unique drama as long as you are willing to forgive some plot holes.

As my first review, I decided to go for one of the most hated shows of the season, Big Order.
I understand that there was a bit of hype about this show following Mirai Nikki's success, and that this anime was one of the worst anime of the season. I'm going to try to keep this review spoiler free, although for anyone who is interested in this show, I can tell you right now that you are better off saving your time.
Story: 3
After finishing the anime, I am still a little confused about what the main plot was supposed to be. It seemed to start out
...
as one thing, deteriorate into a jumbled mess, then reform into something completely different in a rush at the end. There were bits and pieces of plot points that seemed to hint at a plot which could have been great, but none of those are expanded upon or used at all really. they simply exist in the back ground as the anime takes wrong turn after wrong turn.
Art: 5
The art and character designs were solid enough, if annoying similar to the authors other, more well known work that is Mirai Nikki. The animation is solid enough, but the ED is one of the worst i have ever seen. It's as if they just didn't want to animate the ED, so just left it the way it was. The censoring was enough by itself to drop the art by an entire point as well.
Also, half of the last episode is portrayed through some kind of grey filter that is terrible.
Sound: 5
Nothing about the sound track is memorable, besides maybe how much the ED doesn't fit the mood of the anime at all. The voice acting is alright, but mostly its just average.
Character: 2
This anime is completely devoid of character development in any way that makes sense. The main characters motivations are questionable (I can't say what, because spoiler) and he is pretty much personalityless without them, Rin is just a copy/paste of Yuno, minus some of the crazy, and none of the side characters get enough attention to become anyone you could even start to care about.
Enjoyment: 2
I dropped this show after the first episode. I gave it another try a few weeks later, and dropped it again at episode 7. After the show ended, I forced myself to finish it. I think the worst thing about this anime is having to see all of it's potential, then watch as it gets pissed down the drain.
Overall: 3
To put it simply, this anime was a mess of missed opportunities and wasted potential fused with cardboard characters and unnecessary (and unnecessarily censored) fan service. It was a few moments where it could have revived itself, but it chose to let itself die on the operating table. I would not recommend this anime to anyone.
