Both are slice-of-life anime that have their lighthearted moments, but also feature some darker more cerebral, and introspective moments. Both feature characters were designed and created by Yoshitoshi ABe, who also did the artwork for Lain and Texhnolyze as well. Both are more mellow, chill shows with worlds that have creative lore behind them. Both feature similar story and character beats but do them differently enough to differentiate themselves from each other. Both also feature heavy acoustic and softer soundtracks to accommodate their vibes. Both shows are also just wonderful in my eyes too, so yeah.

If you liked Texhnolyze add

...then you might like Serial Experiments Lain add

Both are cyberpunk-ish series with psychological elements and deep, emotional stories to them. Both also feature abstract characters in some form or another. The art (as in the art for the show, not the animation itself) is also done by the same artist who did the art for Lain, Yoshitoshi ABe. A lot of the same writers who worked on Lain also worked on Texhnolyze as well, so you'll notice some similar story beats, but they're done much differently enough to give each show their own identity. They're both also masterpieces, so there's that.
