No.6
add

Both are noitaminA shows with a "social sci-fi" feel, with some similar themes. The difference is that No. 6 is a more blatant dystopia from the beginning while Fractale makes a point of showing both the good and the bad of the society it depicts. Also No. 6 has more yaoi.

Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto

FABULOUS! Star Driver is just like Ouran, but with mecha fights. Especially in episodes 4 and 5, where the show shamelessly steals some of Ouran's comic devices. (Fantasy sequences with roses all over the place and snarky captions.) Both series are made by Studio BONES.

They are both fantasy action shounen featuring a protagonist who has exceptional skills in magic (or alchemy), an intriguing plot, and some comedy.

Angel Beats!

Yurippe is extremely similar to Haruhi, in both appearance and personality. There are other character similarities as well (Otonashi = Kyon, Angel = Yuki) although they aren't quite as strong. The more lighthearted episodes of Angel Beats remind me of the non-Melancholy episodes of Haruhi, although the shows have different styles when it comes to dramatic plots.

They have similar senses of humour, although Bamboo Blade is more serious (sometimes).

Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha

They both have an episodic "crime of the week" format combined with a long-term story arc. There are sometimes similar plots, and both explore the idea of people who are somehow different from ordinary humans (cyborgs in GITS, people with superpowers in DTB). Both are intelligent (moreso GITS), dark (moreso DTB), and mature and have kickass soundtracks by Yoko Kanno.

Both are old-school mecha anime. Although they both show their age, they also both remain very watchable even now and are rightly hailed as classics.

Both of these shows are about a teenager who is the only one capable of piloting an incredibly powerful mecha. Mithril and Terra have some similarities as organizations, and if you watch the English dubs there are a lot of voice actors in common.

Darker than Black: Kuro no Keiyakusha

Both shows have episodic formats (although in DTB each "episode" is actually a two-parter) and involve the main characters taking jobs involving tracking people down for money. Both of them are, when you get down to it, about characters trying to escape the past (and failing, for the most part). They also both have kickass soundtracks by Yoko Kanno, and many of the people who worked on Bebop went on to join Studio BONES, which produced DTB.
