The only other review of this video seems to be ignorant of Ogino Shigegi's work.
While it is not traditional in the sense that it does not have characters and a "storyline," you have to keep in mind that this video was created at a time (mid 1930s) before techicolor become official and where displaying film in color was in its extreme infantile stage.
His flashing between reddish and greenish is making use of these basic colors to simulate a natural color before movies were able to replicate this. It's an experimental video, but also one of the first Avante Garde expressions of a video in a
...
time when every drawn video was some kind of cartoon with cartoon characters. The video also simulates three dimensions, a unique depart from the two-dimensional (2.5 dimensional) nature of every other hand-drawn video at the time.
In short, this video was not made for your entertainment, it was made to push the boundaries of animation, which it did (hence how it won 1st place at the St. Teccian Cup). Complaining about how it's "not enjoyable hence the low rating" is like saying "broccoli is a bad food because it's not sweet." It's using a very insular scope of defining what's good.
Not to mention, the video is a SILENT FILM from THE 30s! Who in the right mind would complain that a silent film has no sound?

One of the most interesting anime I've watched, Keijo has defied so many of my expectations for it.
The team actually strung together a plot for this (supposedly 100% fanservice-based anime). I have no idea how they made butt and boob fighting so epic!
The story is pretty generic, but the execution is very concise and interesting throughout. Backstories of the characters are presented, and their lives are developed over the course of the show.
Art and Music are really good. I even downloaded the ending song. It was really catchy. The opening is also decent.
All in all, watch it if you want to watch something fun, this
...
is definitely a good anime. Just don't watch it in public, like me

"One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." -Bob Marley
Whelp... people are wrong sometimes. Many people and I have always procrastinated this show since it is in a less common genre. However after watching Your Lie in April, I noticed that it is not just a story, but is a work of art. From its music to its story line, this show mirrors that of a classical musical solo composition.
In this review, I will focus on what to watch for in this show to bring out your full enjoyment of it, since its storytelling parallels the composition of a classical
...
(which many do not understand where to look).
One. Look for motifs. This show is rampant with them; each sounding out its own tune. Every time the motif is enacted, a slight twist will be put on it to enable story progression, paralleling tunes in older musical arrangements.
Two. Not every action is meant to be realistic. Some events are meant to be metaphorical; they should not be taken as in real life.
Three. Understand Asian/Japanese culture and don't drop the show if you are going to comment on certain behavior e.g. the mother's attitude.
Four. At first, there are many monologues and audience reactions. They are a bit distracting when the people perform. Personally, I believe that it is to train musical newcomers to notice how older pieces are meant to be listened. As the show progresses, it will allow you to listen to the playing more.
Five. Finally, try thinking like the characters. Without offense, there are many ignorant comments out there on this show. Those people will do not stop to think about what really is going on before typing what they think.
Hopefully, this will help you in watching Your Lie in April.
Also, as a warning, there is a lot of slapstick humor in this show.

This show has more plot holes than the amount of times Yuno says "Yukki".
But does it make this show bad? It depends on how you feel.
For me at least, a good show is defined not by its high technical merits, but by the amount it personally affects me. The point of reading/watching a story is to leave your surroundings, your environment, to discover other worlds.
Character stories are intriguing and always tragic at some point. And although some may find the designs very unbalanced, with normal looking characters and One Piece looking characters together, their designs bring out their nature. (not going to spoil how,
...
you figure it out yourself).
With its dissonant color palette and its developed character interaction/story, this show has twisted topics such as that of trust very well.
Also, I have no idea how this show brought literally almost every single genre into it. (even yaoi)

Who knew that English class would actually help me in a Japanese anime?
There is so much subtle character development going on that people who usually watch shallow fighting anime (like me) would think that this sucked.
At first, I only watched this for the art. Yes, it was so amazing that I couldn't watch any anime e.g. Fullmetal Alchemist during the same week, because of the clear overpowering art of this one. 10/10
The story was decent at first; it was pretty generic (some people using teamwork to get a goal). But then, I felt as if I was missing something. I rewatched it, and noticed how
...
all of the character development going on. It was like putting my head under water in a coral reef for the first time. Hint: watch how Kumiko's physical spacing with particular people change over time. It's actually important to the story. And yes, KyoAni has worked to that extent on bringing the story into the animation. 10/10
Music is really catchy, especially the op and the ending. I even have the op band version as my ringtone. The band songs they played are also really good. (did you know that they were made specifically for the anime?) 10/10
Characters are basically the story. This show is way more about the characters than the plot. It's the characters, in fact, which are the plot. And each one of them is developed very well, even the useless-ish Midori. Reina and Kumiko are by far, the best though. 10/10
Verdict: WATCH IT! If you have never seen anime, WATCH IT! If you have seen anime, WATCH IT!
The only people who I do not recommend to watch are those who aren't too interested in literature which requires thinking
e.g. Hunger Games, Sword Art Online don't require too much thinking

There are extremely positive reviews, and there are extremely negative reviews. I find this anime to be very polarizing, but mostly liked.
This is one of the only animes that did not give me much of an impression after I left, though. So I am just going to list my opinions of its pros and cons. I will leave out parts that aren't too good nor too bad.
Pro:
Non-generic MCs= (genius siblings, one of them being a human
...
supercomputer and another who can manipulate
emotions really well)
Art= Rated 9. One of the best art I've seen. It's really bright, and it stands
out. I would have rated it 10/10 if it weren't for Hibike! Euphonium.
Story= It could have been 9/10 (I'll talk about weakness in cons), it's really
funny sometimes, filled with great strategic twists and insights about
life/human nature
Con:
Steph= I have never been bothered by something in a TV show so much as
this. The way the 3rd protagonist in the anime (not manga) is
treated just gets me upset for some reason. Although it is shown
that she is clearly capable of a lot, she is usually only as fan-service
, a test subject, or a servant.
Story= Story was great. The only thing is the ending. I'm not complaining
that the ending was too open, but that it ended on the wrong note.
If the producers have removed the scene with the elf and her slave, it
would have a much better closure, and focus on the next season.
Other notes:
A ton of ecchi/potential hentai material ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Music is by video game music creators
A lot of references to different things e.g. (Laputia:Castle in the Sky)
Verdict: Watch it. It's really entertaining, and decently memorable. Characters are all pretty interesting and fun. A ton of awesome fan-service going on (I feel as if I'm he only person who likes fan-service :\). Overall, I give it an 8.
Edit: I literally just noticed that this is categorized as ecchi. This actually surprised me, since most ecchis don't have much plot going on

One Piece is those types of anime that would get people immersed in it. The story, the characters, and even things like a boat stick to the watcher's memory. But, if you those people who care mostly about the art and short fighting scenes, then this might not be the best anime for you.
The story and and its characters are probably the strongest aspects of One Piece. Each ark portrays the situation very clearly, and foreshadows some future problems without being forced in. Throughout One Piece, it talks about many things like friendship, family, segregation, the abuse of power, and freedom. And, it never gets
...
boring... other than some fillers and the first part of 300s. While some people may argue that this anime has been going on for so long that it has gotten boring, it has not. Every single part has something completely new while integrating the past to develop the story... something many stories lack.
The characters are extremely diverse, so it is really easy to distinguish them. I have heard people say that the characters never develop, but looking deeper... the characters e.g. Luffy has gotten more mature, and made better decisions & past antagonists have become the victims, or protagonists. But, they have not developed so much in just 2 years that it has gotten unrealistic.
Fight scenes are eh. They go on to 10-20 episodes at a time. But, for people who like fight scenes showing what is going on everywhere, then this is good for you.
Then, finally the art. Nop. Not the greatest. Same with the sound. But, after the new world, it has improved greatly! So, hoping that future episodes will continue to gain better art and stuff.
