Some animes I feel like I have to write a review for it, this is one of those animes due to its ridiculously overrated score.
This is one of those "artistic" anime, with hipster art, hipster soundtrack, bad/generic story and boring characters.

It is one of those things the industry releases every now and then to get wannabe "critics" to give high scores and praises because of its predictability(put some 80s jazz soundtrack, generic holywood story and cheap-but-fluid art).

Art is subjective, but I wont bash on it. Ill give it a straight 7/10.

sound ill go with mediocre because of how generic, 5/10.

character? enjoyment? story? there is none, ... go look for it somewhere else.

If you watched the first episode and like me, instantly dropped the show, I urge you to give it a second chance.
I gave this anime a 2/10 on the first episode, nothing can get more generic than it did.
Despite all the SJW vs Normal people talk, I watched it oblivious to it and gave the low score based on my experience watching it: a total garbage.
The first episode shows a generic protagonist, a bunch of super generic "heroes", a generic kingdom, and everything else is just so boring, generic and badly introduced that you just fall asleep.
The "forced video game world" is also presented in ... the first episode, which makes your eyes roll quite a few times here and there.

After writing a quick review about the horrible first episode, an user from this website PMed me saying it gets better, and that I had to give it another chance.
A few weeks later and nothing to do I gave this another chance, and I have to admit it surprised me.

Once you ignore the horrible, generic and souless first episode, the story develops on a very good pace, the characters actually stop being generic and the action is very good as well.
I am not going to write a huge review about this anime, just want to say that if you ignore the start, it gets better and the story is rather enjoyable and non-generic.
