Think you FPS skills would help you in a real war? Masaki-sensei say's your probably gonna die and to prove this we are introduced to Touri Noel, reincarnated Pro Gamer getting a reality check in a real war, who is ratcheting her way into being one of my favorite isekai protagonists.
If you think Tanya the Evil has it too good and is being shielded from the true atrocities of war, Touri has you covered. A second class medic who can't even do her job on day one, assigned to a commander who has reputation of using his people as human shields, fighting enemies who see

her as easy prey, and to top it all off puberty left her looking like a porcelain doll in the bulls china shop. Not a great starting point, but I think that is why I am so enamored; she has to learn slowly, make mistakes, and suffer the consequences of her actions and the fallout of battle. And you feel that anxiety every time she gets into a 'situation.'
In addition to Touri, we are introduces to several side characters and they are all, even the assholes, well written and engaging. Character development also feels natural, and I appreciate the different ways each character deals with the looming eventuality of their death and the trauma of their actions all while never bringing the story down so far that the humor falls flat. I do suggest avoiding adopting a favorite tho. I trust nothing in this manga.
Finally I would be remiss without mentioning Mimishiki-sensei's art. Simultaneously cute and tragically graphic. They cleverly use their medium to draw you into the story and do not hesitate to depict every bit of grime and suffering a tale of war demands.
We are still early in story, almost a year through, so I can't say everything will pan out, but it has potential. If you enjoy a good underdog protagonist I strongly recommend keeping an eye on this one. But for those of you who have sensitivities, proceed with caution this tale does not shy away from ANYTHING that frequently occurs in times of war.
