Kay, I'll admit it. At first I found this anime very original but lack excitation. At some point I found it hard to keep up with or have time after 5 or 6 episode because I prioritized other anime such as Boku wa Tomodachi or Sakurasou that also started during the winter season anime. Therefore I started watching those I put first on the list and got too lazy to watch the rest.
However, recently after most of the Fall/Winter anime ended, I kinda ran out of anime to watch. And I happened to catch a glimps of this wonderful anime again so I thought
...
to myself "what the heck."
If anyone of you are familiar to Stein Gate, this anime is also familiar to it. It started slow and painful in the beginning but picked up really fast and furious after 7 or 8 episode. My my, how was I wrong about this anime. Not only this anime played with your mind quite a bit, it also packed with a load of action. The main protagonist which are the 2 boys who resemble the character from The Tempest by William Shakespere was such character I've rarely see in anime these days.
I wont go into details but this anime was such a pleasure to watch after you get through all the introduction. The art was beautiful, music was a pleasure and the character drastically changed during the course of the anime like you've ever seen before. There are some cute/comedic moments with the so called "Princess" and the player Yoshino but that was very very cute to watch.
Although I must say the final fight was somewhat Anticlimactic and in my heart somewhere, I wish it could have been Yoshino and Mahiro who had the power to save the world, I must say that Megumu did a decent job in ending it since he also had a character development despite the small role he had. This ending was probably one of my most favorite during the course of this season anime. You can vividly see the change in character in both which Mahiro and Yoshino after swallowing the fact that Aika had died.
Long story short, the ending was pretty perfect and happy. And this anime is very educational as well teaching all those who isnt familar with the infamous Hamlet and Tempest.

People say "never judge a book by its cover" and I cannot expresses how it is true for this anime when it caught me off guard. Some may think this anime is like any generic and stereotypical anime about schools and how any stereotypical characters interact with each other. Well you're half right but you are also wrong. This anime is more than that, it doesnt follow the general dogma as some of you might say it and it will drawn you into a world of politics, revenge, violence, discrimination, and dramatizations. If you are into school, comedy, romance and drama, this anime is just
...
for you.
Art/graphic - The art is beautiful, all I'd have to say is its better than most anime I've seen so far including the more recent ones. Although I do feel that they could have done so much more with the art, I think this amount of work was the right choice for this anime.
Sound - This one is especially my favorite, I was instantly hooked with the OP as well as the first song in the beginning of episode one.
Character - I'm not going to talk about the character because people have different interpretation on what is a good or what is a horrible character.
Story - This is what really drawn me into this anime. Unlike any other orthodox short series comedy, romance anime where the plot (or no plot at all) come after 6 or 7 episode of the anime. (I know how frustrating it can be) The plot in this anime immediately present itself after one or two episode. Although this anime have many characters, it seem only to revolved around the main protagonist and his girl. Although this anime have a harem feel to it, it definitely going a different path than what it was meant for. What really makes me loved this anime was that the ending unlike any other thousands of anime, did not have a half ass ending. Im sure many of you have encounter many of these anime where the main character do not end up with anyone or the ending wasnt to your satisfaction. Well, I wont spoil any ending but the main character actually do choose a girl at the end and had over come many obstacle to be able to achieved his goal and love life unlike other protagonist where they are too "pussy" or weak and had to let the girl do everything.
This anime definitely caught me off guard as I was looking for something enjoyable to watch in my spare time.
Enjoyment - 9

Okay this is my first review ever. I've watched anime for a couple of years now but I just felt like I had to write a review for this anime.
First, I'd like to warn all of you that is planing or is start to watch this anime. Do not listen to anyone who keep pestering you to watch it or claimed that "Stein; gate" is the best anime of all time. This anime is pretty much a hit or a miss anime for majority. If you're the type of person who doesnt get hook on the first 6 episode of this anime then give
...
up now.
Honestly, I've had my doubt with this anime for a long time now since I tried out episode one of the anime but it was so confusing and frustrating so I stopped and recently picked it up again because of all the hype. And honestly, episode two to 7 was amazing. It hooked me right in and I found myself watching it through the night til 8AM. However, after episode 7, the anime became kind of tasteless and boring and dont expect anything good to happen until episode 12.
But let me tell you this, a lot of expectations and hypes wont get you no where and will only disappoint. People on forums and blogged I've read that the anime picked up at episode 12 but I beg to differ. From the whole series, the anime was really amazing from beginning and to end but the middle was just utter irritation to me. Not that I'm saying it was bad (B/c I enjoyed it too due to intro to the whole picture and plot and alot of twist and turns as well as the unexpected) but it was also had some vaguely unexplained things and small mistakes. From episode 12 to 17 was tedious for me because it was was the epitome of character development.
Let me tell you about the characters which I had given a score of 7. Aside from Kurisu, Okabe, Suzu, every other characters was utterly useless and under developed. I would have to agree that all of them contribute greatly in developing the story and such as well as pushing the character development of Okabe. Firstly, they had focused Okabe attention way too much on Mayuri. She was pretty much the most useless character in the whole series as she was shown to be completely ignorant of everything around her in the whole 22 episodes. TOO-TOO-DOOO. Man that was so annoying. Also, character such as Ruka, Rumiho, Itaku, although helped moved the story along, was pretty much irrelevant to the whole story beside the fact that Okabe had to reversed everything in the end.
Most likely most people agree on that the character Okabe, Suzu and Kurisu actions and appearance in the series completely overshadowed every other character. Although following the manga I did not understand why they had spend it on developing the side character instead of the relationship between Kurisu and Okabe as in the end, proved to be the most important to each other. Although I admitted I did not like the twist at the end that they say they loved each other before returning to the first world line, I'd have to give credit to the artist and producer for that kissing scene and how unexpected and developed it was like riding a roller coaster. It would have been much better in my opinion that they had spend a few episode between 15 and 20 or in the beginning to help developed the relationship between the two.
Over all, this was a very unique series, unique concepts, unique characters and definitely worth checking out even if its not your type of anime. The ending was, again, amazing and thrilling as the only answer to the problem the protagonist struggle with through the whole show and even almost to breaking point was where it started. This was very well made and it will keep you wanting to know more. Although most of us had expected a tragic ending, the ending was very unexpectedly a very heart warming and a cute ending. May we all follow the choice of Steins Gate to a whole new future.
