Honestly, besides Naruto and Clannad I have never fallen in love with a show on episode one. Fruits Basket takes you on a journey mentally, emotionally, and physically with Tohru and the Soma family. You learn so much about each and every characters past which just makes for a great yet sad time. While it is a romance it isn't just thrown in your face at every waking moment which is a nice change of pace. Where do I begin with the Clannad series? It is one of my absolute favorite animes ever an for wonderful reasons. The music of Clannad is so peaceful and calming it relaxes you. The main characters are all characters you can grow with and see the development of. Nagisa is a wonderful girl who is easy to fall in love with as a character. It is a tearjerker or in my case I'm bawling 10+ times through the show. It really can make you cry, but that is part of the enjoyment of the show. 91 days is one of the few short animes I have watched where I am completely glued to the tv the whole time. It is a phenomenal show that has amazing storytelling, crazy backstory, surprises around every corner, and a great MC. The idea of an Italian mob story wasn't super thrilling to me but after watching 91 days I fell in love with the show. It never needs a second season as the ending was beautiful and felt complete. Wonderful show that I recommend to anyone.
