Both have a ghost following the protagonist in order to fulfill their wishes to get to the afterlife. In Aoi, we have the "harem prince" befriending the so called delinquent of the school in order to give 7 presents to his fiancee. The delinquent is clueless in love and gets into all sorts of trouble in order to do so. One will definitely find this story heartwarming and cute if they enjoyed Anohana. On the other hand, prepare yourself for a feels trip since Anohana is highly regarded as a tear jerking anime/manga. We have the typical coming of age/time skip years later after one of the protagonists in the group dies. She comes back as a ghost with only Jintan able to see her. It is a beautiful well written story about friendship with a few notes on romance.
