If you're looking for a slice-of-life with an enjoyable, stupid, yet hilarious couple doing couply things, you've come to the right place.

With amazing chemistry and wholesome banter, our two MCs are followed through a coming-of-age shoujo high school romance that makes your heart pound yet simultaneously slow down. I'm at peace reading this manga. It's just so wholesome and fluffy where literally ALL characters are likeable, even the jealous 2nd leads. So healthy, so much communication.

I absolutely LOVE the art style. There's so much love put into the drawings, and there are soooo many unique expressions.

I think if there's anything I dislike it's ... the wishy-washiness of the ML at first. I love his development tho. Both characters develop so nicely while still maintaining their personalities from the beginning.

Everything about this manga is just... perfection~!

Honest waste of time. I saw all the high ratings, looked at the fake dating, and was excited about a fun story. However, after 2 chapters, I found out that this was a story with an overwhelming about of misunderstandings, terrible communication, stupid decisions, and unlikeable characters.

Everyone sucks except for the ML, FL, and this one side character. Even then, ALL of them make such stupid choices, and it's incredibly painful to read. It dragged on for ages, and I literally had to force myself to get through it. The ending is also really unsatisfying.

To play devil's advocate, I was looking for a wholesome ... and funny story, but I was given angst and betrayal instead. Had I known what was coming up... I probably wouldn't've even picked it up.

If you're looking for a slow burn, romcom manga with fun banter, a dense of a ML, and a... very involved case of side characters, you've come to the right place. This manga does have the "he rejected my confession but I don't plan on giving up" mindset. Although I personally don't like this trope, especially if the person does things that confuse the other (and causes a cycle of pain), I was able to bear it because of the lack of ill intentions.

I find it so fun to see a FL so realistically portrayed. The slow burn and progression are natural, and the immersion ... is incredible. It's a bit sad to admit, but seeing the FL so down in the dumps about the guy she likes made me cry as well. Literally haven't experienced anything like that in my life, but for some reason, her highs and lows became my highs and lows. 

The only complaint I have may be how pushy the rest of the cast can get. They are very involved with even the most personal aspects of the MCs' relationship, and it almost gets a little irritating. Nonetheless, the side characters are still entertaining and the addition of their strikingly different personalities makes Lovely Complex even more entertaining.

This manga is criminally underrated. The plot's setting starts off following the same script as most romance mangas. A high school girl who's beauty attracts the entire school's male population. One guy, who's a little different from the rest, asks her out on a date. And this is where the story really takes off.

The male lead is very adorable with a spicy side but is extremely kind and caring as well. The female lead also has a personality which really makes me happy (the bar is on the floor, I know).

The art itself is pretty well done, and the characters are very distinct. The ... art helps immerse you into the novel, and it's very consistent.

I honestly wish there was more development in the side character department, but the main couple were very interesting and it didn't take away from the experience.

Overall, I'd rate it a solid 8/10 and I hope many many more people find this manga, enjoying it as much as I have!

This is such an underrated manga and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. There are so many things to unpack.


The plot is unique and there is a clear goal in the beginning. Now obviously the reader is probably going to know who Haruhi ends up with from the start especially with the couple's love being so strong throughout the story. Their misunderstandings are easily cleared up which caused a few of the conflicts to seem less impactful because there was no doubt in the couple's love. However, that also gave the story a breath of fresh air and it stops those conflicts from dragging ... on too long.

The art is pretty good and there's a good combination of blank backgrounds and detailed ones. It's expressive, entertaining, and the body proportions stay relatively consistent.

Characters are unique and aren't teenagers but actual adults working towards a common goal. While they may be childish at times, it's nice to see different settings rather than a school all the time. The female lead is very lively and relatable with her flaws while the male lead is perfect in every way except for his age and employment status. Getting used to his age was definitely a struggle, especially considering he was almost the same age as her father :/ but you get used to it as they treat each other with respect and as equals.

I like that the rivals aren't actually bad people and find a way to move on even if they were annoying at first (***Spoiler + rant*** I didn't really like the unexplained relationship between Haruhi's roommate and childhood friend. It felt unnecessary and undeveloped with literally no reason to get together. But I got over it.)

It was an enjoyable story that made me feel bubbly inside. It's a short but sweet slice-of-life journey that brought unique characters dealing with unconventional problems while at the same time mostly avoiding a lot of the cliches in an interesting and cute manner.
