A story of desperation and love in the world that is hopelessly lost.

I’m never a fan of high abstract plot like Bubble and the Floating Apartment one, which I thought was pretty bad and a wasted potential with no message to say.

Yet, Maboroshi, I manage to understand the whole plot on my first viewing and understand the message it tryna say pretty well. The story does create a good parallel for us to learn in real life which I thought a high abstract story never manage to do.

Still though I wish for ... a more world building on how the mechanic work and how life were before and after the story that takes place so I could feel more satisfied.

Visual 10/10

This is MAPPA’s original movie that took 4-5 years to make. It should be no surprise that this is their best-looking work yet. The best aspect has to be the background art direction and the CGI integration which was flawless.

Music 8/10

Many track beautifully fit for the moment to establish the sense of mystery and love.

Overall 8/10

This will be a complicated watch that will require your attention. Yet, I thought it was unique and has a great message to say in the end anyway, the things that similar type of abstract plot simply failed to do.

MAPPA x Food ASMR x Isekai? Call it a success story.

Story & Character 7.5/10
There's pretty much no plot. The guy just goes around the world looking to find new stuff in this world. BUT, the characters and their interaction are so good. Especially, the MC and the Fenrir have pretty much perfect chemistry.

Animation 8.5/10
Anything scene involving food is like an instant 10/10. MAPPA cooked all the food irl and then rotoscoped it perfectly into the anime aesthetic. And talking about aesthetics, FINALLY, isekai with its own art style. It's so warm and cozy. Just perfect.

Sound 7/10
Pretty basic relaxing track for each scene which enhances ... the experience. The OPENING though was an absolute jam.

I love the fact that this show is being created by a bunch of newbies/interns at MAPPA, but since the direction has such a strong foundation, it's just so satisfying when a show was made efficiently and beautifully.

This is what peak storytelling meet peak adaptation looks like, and I’m glad to be able to witness it. Thank you Isayama, Hayashi, and MAPPA staff.

Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 3 adapts chapters 131-134 of the manga into a 1-hour movie special, and it sure feels like one.

Story 10/10
This part contains what many considered the best chapter in the manga (chapter 131) which shows the absolute true despair of the rumbling and Eren’s true motivation. And It was adapted to perfection, with many anime original scenes to give more context to the situation.

You know you are a once-in-a-generation writer if you’re able ... to make the viewer feel empathetic toward someone who’s committing genocide against the whole of humanity, then the next second, got us to cheers for the stopping force.

Animation 10/10
The rest of the episode also contains the best MAPPA's animated sequence so far for their AOT, both in terms of their perfection in CGI blending and 2D animation. It is safe to say that the rumbling could not be done better by any other studio, given the time and scale of it. And with this latest part, “the limiter has been taken off” - the director, as he is now able to fully express his true vision for what MAPPA’s AOT should be.

Sound 10/10
Perfect placement for all the OSTs in this episode, to heighten the moment even more. Also, many sequences in particular synced the music to the action on screen perfectly right down to the second, which is something that animation alone can’t heighten it.

Overall 10/10
It has been a long and harsh journey for this team under Mr.Hayashi-san at MAPPA, throughout all the criticisms of part 1’s animation, color, CGI, and music choice, working your eyes out to save this generation-defining anime to not burn to the ground in under 8 MONTHS, just to hear harassments, and death threats, even. With the massive improvement in part 2, and now today, the team can stand proud of this achievement, in adapting what people thought is unadaptable, to the degree that no one would’ve thought to even picture or imagine it.
