Story - 4/10
The storyline is extremely clichéd and not very interesting. It doesn't help either that various scenes are repeated (none of these repeats never add anything new), which makes it end up feeling like unneeded padding. The pacing was decent enough, but the story itself lacks tension and scariness.
Art - 7/10
Despite some animations looked a little iffy at times, the CGI looks great and detailed.
Sound - 6/10
If it wasn't for the mediocre lip sync that after the first episode started to really annoy me, this would've probably been the best thing here. The sound design is really solid, voice acting is great, and
...
the soundtrack was decent.
Character - 5/10
I feel like my score isn't too valid here. I've only seen bits of the other animated movies and haven't played (or watched playthroughs) of the games in years, so I'm not very in touch/caught up with the characters. Personally, I don't feel like there's much of any character development here, but hey, maybe there is...?
Enjoyment - 5/10
Considering that all four episodes are around 25 minutes (which includes the intro and credits, both of these are basically 'automatically' skipped on Netflix of course) the show was over quick making it an easy watch. If you're a die hard fan of the franchise, I'd definitely recommend it, otherwise I wouldn't. Personally I'd rather get another headache from watching RE: The Final Chapter instead of re-watching this.
Overall - 4/10
Since it was a while since I've played or watched anything Resident Evil related and I've been meaning to get back into the franchise I figured this was a solid outcome, but sadly, it wasn't... I wish all the best to the fans of this franchise and hope its future films/shows are better than this.
