I started watching by recommendation from my friend who loved it when it aired.
The story feels similar to Durarara!!, where several character's backstories overlap to create a very satisfying finale. Difference is, there are only two main groups in this show.
There are many slow parts which may be boring, but I feel like they actually helped set the stage for the final act. In that way I don't regret forcing myself through the earlier episodes, despite it not matching my expectations.
