Before I start my review, I would like to state that I am judging this from the perspective of someone who is a fan of the persona franchise and has played many of the games, however this review will be looking at this from the perspective of both fans and newcomers.
-Do you have to know about persona 1, persona 2 and persona 3?-
No, each persona acts as a completely separate story. There are some callbacks to previous games but they are hardly noticeable as a newcomer and act more as easter eggs for fans.
-Do you have to play the game to watch this?-
No, you
...
do not. With this being a 24 episode series, I feel like it has a decent amount of time to sum up the plot of persona 4, however keep in mind the game contains 70-80 hours during the average run of the game opposed to the anime which is only about 10 in total so obviously some parts will be missing or will be skimmed over.
-This one or golden first?-
This one definitely, the golden anime is a very compact version of this story but focusing more on a specific character. It would be hard to understand without watching this one prior unless you have played the game.
Art and animation-
Animation isn't anything special apart from in some fight sequences where it's pretty impressive but I appreciate that it keeps true to the persona art style and the characters feel natural in an animated setting.
-Characters-
While most characters only get an episode to explain their arc, they do a good job of showing off their personality traits and the chemistry within the group is very entertaining during more comedic moments.
-Soundtrack-
It's persona. Probably one of my favourite video game osts and a lot of that music carries through into the anime.
-Story-
In the game obviously there is more lore but I feel like they summed the story's events up pretty well and it serves as a good recap for fans of the game and is easy to understand for people who just want to start on the anime.
-Comedy-
This anime is very funny. It's more random humour but because you like the characters, it actually works well. A lot of the filler in this show is filled with humorous exchanges between characters, similar to the game and I think that it works well and adds as a nice contrast to the driving plot. It also knows when it's time to be serious and the episodes with a more dark tone don't feel out of place.
-Voice acting-
This is one of the few shows I watched in dub so I cannot comment on the performance of the sub but I think that all the dub voice actors are very well casted. Most of them are the same as the game, with some exceptions like Naoto but I feel like her English voice actor suits her better in the anime anyway so that wasn't a problem.
To conclude, while it isn't perfect with some of the plot progression being a bit abrupt, it is still an example of a well done video game to tv adaptation in my opinion. Serves as a simple explanation of events while having some extra fun interactions with the characters and some nice fight scenes.

When I was first watching love live superstar, I writ a review on how good I thought it was. Since then, it has managed to maintain that quality throughout all 12 episodes and has now became my favorite in the love live franchise and I'm going to now explain why it is worth your time:
-New to love live, should I watch the others first?-
No, you do not need to watch any other seasons and I actually believe that this is the best place to start if you want to get into the franchise
-Art and animation-
I've seen many shows and I am quite the fan of
...
the 'cute girls doing cute things' genre but it rarely looks this visually appealing. You can really tell that the budget has been thrown into this show, especially with things like the backgrounds that are so detailed that they bring a fresh atmosphere to the typical anime high school setting. Animation is also really smooth and the characters express their feelings and personalities through exaggerated movement very well.
-Characters-
Compared to the other seasons, the main cast has been cut down to only 5 members. I think this was a great idea since each character gets to have a well developed backstory and motive, instead of some of them being left out. Also, due to the characters all having more screen time, it is a lot more easy to get attached to them since they don't just come across as one dimensional. The designs themselves are also quite unique, look nice and convey the personalities of the characters well.
-Soundtrack-
With this being an idol anime, the soundtrack is really important and I thought a lot of the songs were good, especially if your a fan of jpop. There's also the additional bonus where if you do like the songs, then more will be released outside of the anime for you to listen to. On top of this, there is some great piano background music which works so well for conveying the emotions of the characters during more sad scenes.
-Story-
I won't lie and say its the best story you will ever see but it doesn't have to be. Just having the plot of some teenage girls wanting to make it as idols works as a great catalyst for drama and acts as the central character motivation that drives them. The individual character backstories are also realistic and well written.
-Comedy-
There's not much anime, even labelled a comedy that can make me laugh this much but somehow this one did. A lot of the jokes are ridiculous and catch you out of no where and because you like the characters, it becomes amusing when they say/ do dumb stuff. Sometimes when the pacing is slower, this is what keeps you invested in the episode and brings in some fun scenarios that makes me realize how much I love the absurdity of anime sometimes.
-Enjoyment-
Enjoyment is definitely the reason why I love this anime so much. It won't change your life but it might make you smile and laugh and I think that's something that's underappreciated when watching media. If you just want to not think, have a good time and watch cute girls then I recommend this and if not then that's okay.
-Voice acting-
Considering most of these voice actors are completely new they all did a great job. They also continue the brand of live live voice actors with doing interviews and stage performances where they seem like genuinely amusing and nice people. To top that off, they also have nice singing voices as expected.
In conclusion, if you are looking for something simple, with nice visuals, characters and you either like or don't mind jpop songs then I recommend you watch this. A lot of people may think this stuff is 'cringe' and I can see what they mean by some moments in older seasons but this one feels very modernized and acts as a great starting point for new fans, a great reintroduction for past fans and a brilliant addition to people who follow the franchise religiously.

I found this show completely by accident but I'm so glad I did. This anime has such a unique and relaxing atmosphere and I recommend it if you are feeling stressed by daily life.
Categories:
First impressions:
To be completely honest, the first arc didn't intrigue me. It's about Miyano, an energetic young girl, trying to be more calm and cool like the main character, Tanaka. I was worried the whole show would be about this and I was starting to get put off, however the plot progressed in just a few episodes and it turned out to be a good introduction to some of the characters.
Characters:
I
...
loved them all, they managed to have distinctive traits without falling into stereotypes and these traits really carried the comedy aspects of the show. There was also some development which was nice to see, especially considering this is such a short series.
Sound:
Opening and outro songs are great, I have listened to them multiple times since watching the anime. Background music is really mundane and relaxing, fits perfectly.
Art:
The soft colour pallet adds to the atmosphere. Uniform outfit is distinctive and matches well with the overall colour pallet.
Comedy:
I found this show genuinely funny. The comedy relies heavily on the characters and they do a good job at carrying it, especially tanaka, whose utter laziness leads to comedic gags.
To conclude, I think this show is a good watch and is heavily underrated. Sometimes you just want to sit down, relax and immerse yourself in a wholesome anime. If this is the case, this anime is perfect for you.

This show is a combination of shorts, consisting of chibi versions for characters from the show 91 days.
I really love 91 days so I finished off what the franchise had to offer with this short show. All I can say about it was just meh.
The best part was obviously the characters but only cause I liked seeing more interactions between Angelo and Nero. The comedy of these interactions however was nothing particularly special.
Do I recommend watching this? If it was a full series I would say no but if you want to finish off the franchise like me, it's worth a shot due
...
to the short run time.

This show is what I can only describe as a pleasant surprise. The premise sounds really weird but I encourage you not to be put off by the fact that they are horses, especially when characters like cat girls are common place now in a lot of modern anime.
Story:
The plot is simple, it follows a bubbly young protagonist called Special Week on her quest to become the best horse girl she can be. Its pretty straight forward but there's some twists thrown in there to keep you watching.
History:
Believe it or not Special Week is actual a real horse and the show does a great job
...
at recreating their races into a sports anime. If you are fan of the real life races, you will surely be appreciated of the level of detail they put into making the environments match real life. To further this point, even background characters have unique designs based off their real life horses and they also follow the story lines of their real life counterparts. This really shows that the people who made this show have a passion for horse racing.
Characters:
I don't think I disliked a single character here. All of them were uniquely designed (especially their outfits which are amazing) and had their own traits, even if most of them didn't go through much development, they were still fun to watch and had funny interactions.
Additionally, I especially liked the main character. At first, she seems like the basically go lucky young teenage girl protagonist but as the show goes on you start to realize she has her own problems that she's hiding away. I also loved her relationship with the other lead Suzuka, the interactions between them were so nice to watch and they had lots of chemistry together.
My only complaint would be that since it's based off a gacha game, a lot of characters are introduced at once and it can be a bit of an overload at the start.
Sound
I love the music in this show. The opening and ending especially I keep going back to listen to, it's so catchy. Background music also always felt like it fitted.
Sports:
I've never been a fan of sports anime but the races in this show managed to not bore me due to their fast pace. I really thought the outcomes would be predictable but unless you have knowledge beforehand, its really hard to know who the victor will be and at some points I genuinely had no idea how the episode would end.
Fan service:
If you are looking for this, this is not the show for you.
Conclusion:
While this might not be the most profound thing you will ever watch I highly recommend giving it a try. You are likely to love at least one of the characters in this colorful cast and you can enjoy the mostly wholesome, sometimes somber atmosphere.
