Probably one of the most iconic (if not important) animes ever made.Even despite it's occasional cheesy or not-so-well-aged moments it still finds a specific place in my and many other's heart. Nothing beats being 14 and watching this. Peak
Not everyone may feel this way obviously but i think it did a lot to shape a lot of young peoples journey to self discovery and thats why it holds such a strong spots among the classics.

perspective of someone who doesnt favour romance all that much the hijinks the characters get up to can still be captivating and you can yourself really engaged in the series finale. Despite that the characters arent just written for girls to ogle at and still have a fair amount of fleshed out complexities and interesting backgrounds while keeping the tone fun and lighthearted. There may be elements that from todays perspective can be pretty awkward to say the least, such as episodes 8 poor usage of sexual assault, Lobelia Girls' Academy uniforms shtick or the translation including a transphobic slur (this isnt entirely the shows fault due to english not having an appropriate word for haruhis dad, but many still felt shocked by this) but theyre more of just a product of the shows time and environment.
By all means i still recommend watching it wether for genuine, ironic or nostalgic reasons it can still be very entertaining
