This show is a very quiet riot as the subtle humor fluctuates between heartwarmingly awkward to totally off-the-cuff. In surprisingly bold ways, this cast of teens navigate their way through high school, trying to become the best versions of themselves - especially Tanaka. His honest desire to become a sentient rock is lowkey impressive, but the interactions and bonds he makes in his pursuit are highkey hilarious. Tanaka is calm, unaffected, moisturized, and in his lane throughout the entire series, with the most soft points of growth keeping him from becoming stagnant. I wish I had dropped this show.

My boyfriend and I recently slogged through Bloom Into You hoping to find a cute light yuri to watch that had a somewhat realistic depiction of a human relationship. Every episode was a disappointment watching someone who's finally realized who they are fawning over someone who's desperately falling behind on their emotional intelligence.

To top it off, there's an extremely non-consensual vibe throughout the entirety of Yu and Touko's "romantic" interactions that are VERY unsettling to watch. This show literally made my skin crawl with the unwarranted sexual advances (however light they may have been), and the weird perceived ...
