Both protagonists are young boys with the ability to fight Yokai/Akuma and do so in order to protect, not only the people most important to them, but all innocent people. Both have to deal with injury, fear, peril, and harsh reality but manage to hold onto their hopeful personalities. This attitude inspires the people around them to keep going, as well. The shows also share good artwork, thoroughly animated action scenes and engaging soundtracks. If you love D Gray Man, I think you'll really enjoy Shounen Onmyouji!

Both main characters are little boys with big ambitions and a lot of heart. Both are always going out of their way to help others and care a lot about the people who support them. Both boys also have to learn, from square one, how to take care of themselves and fight monsters/spirits. Mokkun (SO) and Niche (TB) also share the Pet/Protector element. If you like Tegami Bachi Reverse, I think you'll love Shounen Onmyouji!

Both main characters are big-hearted young boys who are thrown into difficult situations and often forced to make grown-up decisions. In particular, the man-protecting-younger-boy friendship element between Oz and Gilbert is very similar to the one between Masahiro and Guren. If you like the characters in Pandora Hearts, I think you'll love Shounen Onmyouji!

Miharu (Nabari) and Tsukasa (.Hack) are very similar. Both are dropped into a difficult situation they didn’t ask for, both respond by becoming outwardly apathetic and inwardly determined not to involve anyone else. They’re also both surrounded by friends who want to help them, despite they’re reluctance to be helped.

Similar atmospheres, although while STL opts for crass humor and shies away from a motivated plot or deep characters, GA holds to cleaner comedy and takes most opportunities forgood angst and believable storylines. Moreover, if you loved GA, don't watch STL, you'll be disappointed. *But* if you enjoyed STL at all, you *have* to watch GA! I personally love it. :)

Both lead girls are sweet, earnest, friends-to-all and the shows share the same atmosphere: light, fun, but angst/drama at the right moments. The romance dynamic is also very similar.
