Similar dynamic, energetic and perverted heroine drags average-looking MC along the way, while Nagatoro leans more to SoL genre, Shimoneta takes it's comedy further, both are enjoyable in their own way, perfect one-shot fun adventure

Both are heavily related to psychology, while Grisaia explores greater themes and more of them, HSL focuses on smaller cast of characters, allowing to know them better and explore their motivations. Message in both is great and not-so-often seen among mainstream anime

Grisaia also tells a story about serious problems and trauma, in less abstract but more grounded and even brutal way. Deals with themes I've rarely seen in movies (if at all), can make you rethink your life and maybe face some unwanted truth. Characters, even if compressed more in comparison, still are likeable and relatable. While Monogatari Series deserves it's place among best anime ever made, Grisaia is greatly underrated in my opinion
