It was okish, stupid drama with trying to be romantic, he just forgives everyone for everything since he is so benevolent, she just does stuff behind his back, he is flirty, then HE LOSES HIS MEMORIES, then she is flirty, then he remembers her and his brother and the white lotus gets in jail with a brother that actually did help them? And they attend the wedding in cuffs? It's just a complete mess, and a badly written one. It had so much potential as comedic trash, but it's just trash, not even a guilty pleasure.

How to describe it is a good question, mm it's ok?
If u are looking for KonoSuba in a different genre, there u are.
Animation is just getting worse and worse, the MC's character is a complete mess, and her inner monologue is just plain bad, AI-generated would give it more soul.
Just decide if she is a damsel in distress, stupid and naive, or if she is some strong hunter knight capable of killing and fighting.
It just fluctuates in between, where the naive and completely useless side character stupid villainess troupe type of a character u see, suddenly becomes badass, strong, capable, and smart Zhuo Yi-Fan, and

then she isn't as cruel u know, she may be more like Sung Jinwoo with that kind heart.
Idk, it's just a complete mess, but ok to lose some time ig. The kiss was the only existing part.
He in love? In love with what? His expression? If he said he sees her as a toy, which she suggested, it would be perfectly believable.

It was not that bad, but, the ending RUINED ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING.
What the sleep was that?????? WHY WOULD THERE BE A LOVE TRIANGLE? HAREM TROUPE?
IT WAS ONLY THE MAIN COUPLE AND THE HITNS OF THE OTHER COUPLE, BUT NEVER ANYONE MESSING WITH THEIR RELATIONSHIP.
So now you want to tell me that the ''cute, not the smartest, maiden in distress'' design girl with a ''sad'' backstory will be the ''WHITE LOTUS'' troupe SECOND FL??

There could be some spoilers ahead, so be warned of the possibility.
Anyway, it's a cute and mindless watch, the outfits of female characters are borderline ecchi, but because of the art style and the animation that doesn't focus on their body as much you will see it occasionally, but it's not right in your face so it's somewhere in the middle I guess - it both is and isn't on the ecchi side, but it's not sexualized if u ignore the questionable amounts of skin shown per se.
It's again, I repeat a MINDLESS watch, the story isn't deep, but the character development is, hmm, close

to non-existent. They mostly talk the classic ''I will become stronger and prove to the world I can be strong'' troupe or something along the lines, I am too lazy to go more into detailed analysis since it isn't a deep story in the first place.
So if u wanna see a half-stupid half-smart kid with a weird talking sword that has a face looking like a dragon and Rimuru's Tempest Wolves remastered, give it a go! Keep in mind, that Urushi comes in episode 11 so u won't see him much this season at least.
All in all, I DID ENJOY WATCHING IT, because I was on the lookout for something like this - simple and kinda funny, though there are much better comedies out there, like Full Dive: This Ultimate Next-Gen Full Dive RPG Is Even Shittier than Real Life! or TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy- or KonoSuba (though I personally didn't enjoy it much, everyone else I know found it hilarious and a great mindless anime).
All in all, if u just wanna relax and not think much about the story, enjoy the cuteness, and don't mind the stupidity, it's a great pick!

Small spoilers about art are included in the review.
It's funny and lovely with blood and some ecchi kind of scenes.
I would say the story is unique in its way.
I like the approach to the plot and how made it. It's dark, and funny, with a blunt main character who is not extra hyped and everything is done well.
I am in love with this anime so far.

The art style is perfect for the story.
The animation and audio are both good.
I would say the 3D wild beasts/strange creatures are the only extra ugly things and the farming scene with Roy so far.

The first episode is super annoying with the little brat Reina or whatever being super rude and everyone judging the little girl and no one wanting to accept her like she is some kind of plague or something.
She just lost her father and they are being so cold and rude towards her. It's like she doesn't even exist. SHE IS A CHILD YOU.....
They even dared to say ''if she was a more proper girl'' - MORE PROPER,RIN? AND THE ANNOYING BRAT IS PROPER? Super rude, extremely rude, and uneducated and you say that this quite girl who lost her father doesn't have manners or something...

The story is really intereresting and it's different.
It's a mystery, but you do not have a feeling of a mystery story because it's made like a comedy.
All in all, this review is SPOILER FREE.
You should keep in mind this is a CHINESE STORY, DONGHUA NOT ANIME.
The main DIFFERENCE between most DONGHUAS and ANIMES is that anime shows a ''complete'' story (at least an arc per season) and adds something at the end so you know there will be another season, but DONGHUAS show parts of the story through every season and usually have multiple seasons, not always, but in a lot of cases (Fox

spirit matchmaker has 10 seasons out, 11 is announced and it doesn't look like they will stop there; it's the best example of non-3D Chinese franchise (I personally prefer drawn, not 3D donghuas and animes); there is also A Will Eternal with 52 episodes in season 1 and it will have season 2, or Mo Dao Zu Shi with 3 seasons and the whole story is completed and explained in the last season; there is Cinderella Chef as well where they just continued the story in 2. season; than there is Be My Wife (Xie Wang Zhui Qi) which is in my opinion awful anime, but second season is a bit better than the first one, and in the end of the second one there is clearly shown there will be 3. season if not more; etc. there's a lot more examples).
SO DO NOT JUDGE THIS DONGHUA BASED ON YOUR ANIME EXPERIENCE IT'S NOT JAPANESE IT'S CHINESE. EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT.
From what I watched Chinese donghuas tend to have more comedy side to them even in more ''serious'' settings, like Shuangsheng Lingtan.
That's the most common problem with this donghua I saw in reveiws. You all expect Japanese style and way, but it's not, of course, it's different when it's Chinese, and China can make some masterpieces like Mo Dao Zu Shi and this one has a lot of promises, just wait until the last season (maybe it will be 4. that is currently airing or 5,6, or 20. you never know whit Chinese animation how many seasons and episodes you will see, they usually are long).

The series has quite a bit of drama, as expected from a Chinese show, but it's definitely much less than you would think.
It's HILARIOUS.
You will laugh throughout watching the whole series.
I saw in a review something about romance, so on that note, I would like to say that the ''romance'' part is after epp 48/49 when Bai (main character) changes his appearance because he is now older. Up until few last episodes he has the same appearance.
Love drama/romance is showed through elder Song Junwan (an elder of the middle peak of Blood Stream Sect). She falls for him and is annoyed that he

is working in other peaks to refine pills.
There is a couple of scenes with them, but it is not so dominant.
Basically, until these last few epps you won't really see much of a romance, maybe here and there some girls who fall in love with Bai Xiaochun.
In the last episode, the ending is definitely showing that there is another season planned (the war and so on).
I didn't read the novel, but I found that Bai Xiaochun will have a couple of wives, so I think that next season/part will have much more romance than this one, because here he is mostly a child, until epp 48/49.
The main character's Bai Xiaochun personality is what makes this show so funny.
He is cunning, he is smart, he is sly, he does have some good intentions, he is not evil, but he does do everything for himself.
He does not plan to hurt others, it just so happens from time to time when he is practicing/refining pills or doing something.
What's interesting is that he has a divine beast from River-Defying sect and as seen in the anime he got himself a demon at Blood Stream Sect.
So he has 2 completely different pets.
He is really strong and capable, also very talented because he got enlightened with many sect secrets from different sects (well, I guess he is the main character for a reason).
Even though he is strong he prefers to act like he's weak and does not like to fight that much or to show off his true strenght.
He is really afraid of death and that's why he is practicing everything connected to imortality.
It's an interesting show and for me, it was really funny!
I started watching somewhere at the beginning around epp 10/12 because I taught it would have 25 epps, but then they changed it to 52.
I am glad that I watched it and I am looking forward to next season.

As almost everyone if not everyone already said this is a poor copy of Project: K which I enjoyed, cried with, and loved throughout the whole series, every single episode and movie.
In that sense, it reminds me of Psycho-Pass seasons 1 and 2 which have exactly the same plot with different characters in the same roles (criminal mind, detective, enforcers, etc).
As a show, it could have some potential if there weren't Project: K. It's really sad.
This one has more drama and longer dialogs of ''yes, we are great friends'' and similar cliches.
It's just a lot of cliche-long conversations.
As of character design, I mean, even from

epp 1 you can already tell who's who in comparison to Project: K.
They have really nice art style which they, in my opinion, kind of made a bit uglier with oversized eyes, but, again, it's my personal opinion, so it doesn't really matter.
If you didn't watch Project: K, I recommend you to watch it. If you plan to watch this show also, maybe watch this one first and then Project: K so you can have an upgraded version of this one (even though it's older).

I did give it all lower ranks, but I don't find it that bad for now, after 5 Epps.
Let me explain this contradiction - low rates and somewhat good opinion.
First, let's start with the story. It is well-written in terms of psychologically fucked up and a bit confusing, but definitely surprising. I never even thought, nor expected, so many perverted scenes or Paul to be such a womanizer when they first showed him as a loving husband.
It's sick to put such an idiotic person (I don't like so unproductive people IRL nor in animes/mangas/movies etc. I mean, you can always find a job to support

yourself and not live off someone else your whole life (it's fine if you lose a job and then find another) because you are too lazy). On the other hand, he had some reasons for his behavior to a certain point (he was bullied in an extreme and unrealistic way from my pov, I never heard nor saw a person hung completely naked in school just to be bullied or for any other reason).
I started watching it because of the cover picture, assuming it would be similar to ''That time I got reincarnated as a Slime''. It's not even close.
I just assumed it would be like Psycho-Pass season 1 and season 2 are based on the same plot with different characters and stories,
This is sick for sure.
An old man seducing a young girl, just standing while someone is beating another annoying arrogant brat (but it's still a fucking child).
It reminds me of another new trying-to-be-hentai anime that I can't remember the name rn. The healing hero getting revenge on all that wicked heroes who bullied him in his previous life and they treated him like a dog and drugged him.
Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi
I found it.
So, basically, it tries to be psychological and good like Re:Zero... as an example, but it fails.
It reminded me of a great Korean webtoon called The Begining After The End, it basically has the same intro scene (In Slime it's the case too), but it's not even close to those masterpieces.
I do like to watch some morally twisted series from time to time (Berserk, Hellsing Ultimate, Tokyo Ghoul in a way, etc), but sexualizing children in any way is too wicked.
Rape, violence, murder, etc is fine for me in a story, as long as it doesn't include children. I know that sometimes (like in Berserk) it's a pretex of the story, but it's not made as the main focus point (like in this one) that MC literally wants to fuck them and his father even support it in a way, but not directly, but directly. If you watch or read you will understand.
