- Magical battle royale; - Mystical atmosphere; - Dolls; - Trying to reach out to the higher being; - Themes of manipulation and free will; - Themes of perfection, flawedness and all-consuming envy; - Nightly, but not grim; dramatic, but not dark. This applies not only to Traumend, but to the whole Rozen Maiden story.

Dantalian no Shoka

- Libraries, books, mysteries, magic; - Dieselpunk; - Rather gothic, gloomy, nightly, heavy atmosphere and style; - All main cast heroes are grown-up; - Their complicated past and enigmatic motivations; - Gets philosophical from time to time; - Twisted plot (especially in Bantorra); Aaand aside from that, these shows have _n_o_t_h_i_n_g_ in common ^_^ . But that's a lot already.

Kemono Friends

Both shows display humans in a good way: our wits, inventiveness, knowledge. Both Kaban-chan and kids from Survive cleverly solve similiar problems - sometimes about ropes and logs, sometimes about relationships, sometimes even technologies. Watching it can make you proud of humanity. Both animes feature survival: very mild in Kemono Friends, more harsh in MWS. Both show the value of friendship and cooperation. Both animes are a bit more childish than your average one, but have hidden depths. In both heroes have to investigate the unknown world, ancient artifacts and leftovers of the civilization. One can even draw thin, but interesting parallels between Sandstar in KF and nanomachine dust in MWS. That being said, KF is more of slice-of-life, while MWS has more survival. In KF we have one human in friendly settings, while in MWS - several humans in hostile environment.

Kemono Friends

Both shows have similiar atmosphere: post-apocalyptic, yet warm and peaceful. Both are an interesting mixture of cute slice-of-life *and* a good story with plot, journey and destination. In the past of the world dwells something mysterious, and we recieve clues through the story. Both shows praise creativity and labour, be it building bridges and houses in Kemono Friends or saving apple orchards with alchemy in Escha to Logy. Still, both also have enough action. Cute characters also included =).
