Both anime had the same kind of atmosphere about them. They were set in olden eras and followed the same kind of easy pace, following traveling characters. Putting that aside, I even thought that Lawrence and Ginko looked vaguely similar as well.

Based in old fashioned times the team in Saiyuki is traveling to find a cure and the cause of the Youkai insanity while the group in Beat the Vandel Buster is aiming to end the dark era. Both of these anime involve plenty of fighting, friendship and monster like creatures (Youkai in Saiyuki and Vandel in BTVB) I think there is a little more character focus in Saiyuki and it seems a bit more complex, but over all these two shows carried the same kind of vibe.

I think Rin and Ueki are a lot alike. They're both kind of idiotic and there is a lot more to them than meets the eye (without inserting any spoilers)

The leads remind me of each other in the fact that although they both have a cute face, they actually have a rather violent/rotton personality.

Granted, Wild adapter isn't the first thing I think when I look at Luck stealer but hey are similar in many ways. Both the main characters are pretty much assassins and are doing all the can to protect someone near and dear to them.

Yeah, it may seem a weird recomendation, but I found the character relationships and personalities and the way they devolped through out the manga was remarkably similar to Naruto. And if you replace go with being a ninja, the simmilarities become even clearer.

Allthough Loveless is a shounen-ai and Dengeki diasy is just a shoujo I find the relationships between the two main characters and the situation with there dead, elder brothers similiar. Not to mention a sizeable age gap.

In both stories fights are fought using words and contain evil elder sibblings that the main chacters are trying to get back.
