A lot of people will pass this up because it's a Chinese animation. HOWEVER, that's completely their loss because THIS IS AMAZING. AOTY worthy even.
The concept of going back into the past to fix things isn't exactly new, it's been done in anime before several times. However the way it's done feels reminiscent of steins gate and violet evergarden. The characters really get you invested right away. There's no nonsense and it gets down to business quickly.
We have our 2 main leads which have a very wholesome and cute working relationship and who, despite being polar opposites personality wise help to balance each
...
other out and bring out the best in each other. Their dynamic is really interesting (along with their complimentary powers).
Then we have our side characters who actually have tonnes of personality and depth to them in comparison to other things I've seen. They all have their own stories which the protagonists try to help with and each time it's been really interesting! I really loved the basketball episode as it felt really fun to watch. There's also a lot of feelsy moments that will make you shed manly tears of joy.
THE ANIMATION. The quality does not drop at all. The OP feels like a massive flex of talent and even throughout the show, the characters are so expressive and fluid. As someone whose used to watching lazy animation it's very refreshing to see. The music is a damned banger and fits really well throughout the donghua. They also use several different beautiful songs which again, is not commonly seen in most anime.
My only issue was that at times the subtitles would go by too fast for me to keep up, or it felt like parts of the episodes were cut and skipped with janky translations or lack of translations. It's still watchable, but I wonder if this is just an issue on where I watched it (Funimation) or for other watchers in general.
Regardless, please don't pass this up because it's Chinese. Please give it a chance!

I have a LOT I want to say in this review, so there will be plenty of spoilers ahead. If you're just looking to see if you should watch this show, YES. WATCH THIS SHOW. I'm going to explain everything about Carole & Tuesday that in my opinion makes it a masterpiece as a netflix original.
There's several themes and arcs going on in this show that you don't see at first, but it all slowly unfolds together in a way that makes complete sense to the main storyline. The main premise is of course, two girls who start from the bottom with absolutely nothing
...
to their name who slowly make it as musicians, struggling to the top. One girl came from planet earth to mars as a refugee, and the other came from Mars, daughter to a politician whose running for president.
This aspect is genius, because it relates very much to the current state of affairs in reality. Carole symbolizes the struggles that refugees and black people face in everyday life. She speaks about how she didn't get to grow up with a family, or celebrate christmas, or get presents. She lived in an orphanage and struggled a lot, and yet, despite her rough upbringing she fought like hell to survive and make something of herself.
Tuesday is the polar opposite. She grew up in a wealthy family, with plenty of privilege. She could have anything in the world she wanted, but none of it could replace what was missing in her daily life. Human connections, the passion she had for music, and the lack of love and understanding from her family were what drove her to change her life. Desite her privileged upbringing, Tuesday herself is humble and sweet. She doesn't think of herself as better than others, and when she meets Carole she treats her like any other human being.
The two click instantly, and quickly become inseperable. Whether they're singing and making music together, cooking, or just lazing about and talking, every moment with them together just being normal girls is the greatest feeling. It feels like you're hanging out with old friends who feel very comfortable around each other. They become a symbol for the divide between earth and mars, and how despite being total opposites, they work very well together. Which again relates to our reality.
Outside of the politics going on, we have an inside story of how fame and fortune can effect the celebrities we've come to know and love. Angela is the best example for this, but we have plenty of other characters who end up suffering as a result of it, like Flora. There's a scene that really stands out to me, where Gus asks the girls whether or not they want freedom or fortune. Often celebrities are forced to give up their freedom in order to sell more of their work, but as a result they lose themselves and fall into depression, drugs, or suicide. Carole & Tuesday touches on this sensitive topic well.
Angie is the literal representation of what it's like to experience life as a star from childhood. Since she was 3 years old, she's lived with the entire world's eyes on her. However, it was never her dream to be this famous, it was always Dahlia's dream. She grew up under the pressure of Dahlia's shadow, only to find out that Dahlia wasn't actually her mother, and that most of her life has been a lie. Everything she did was to please Dahlia, and she'd sold herself to Tao in order to make this false dream come true. It destroys her, and she falls into a drug-enduced despair until she attempts suicide. This is something that unfortunately a lot of childhood stars end up doing, because the pressure is too much for anyone to deal with.
Flora ended up going down the same path that Angie did, and as a result she ended up losing her fame entirely. But unlike Flora, Angie is eventually able to bounce back again with the support of her kind manager Katy, as well as Carole and Tuesday.
Another theme is how music is slowly becoming less man-made and more AI-generated. Though AI-generated music has it's own great sound, in a way it loses the original heart that man-made music has. Nowadays people learning instruments from scratch is less necessary as you can find the same sound generated or clipped for free elsewhere online. Voices may be more autotuned, and less skill may be needed to actually make it big. We're seeing instances like Vocaloid, where robots are singing and gaining fame like Hatsune Miku.
The voice acting was great, and the singing was even better. The biggest selling point with this show is the music and they sell it in spades. Every time the characters are making a new song, and you slowly watch it progress into a finished piece, it always leaves you feeling giddy and excited. Making music is something that I've always wanted to do, but never could, so it renewed those feelings for me a bit watching the girls create. I absolutely adore the soundtrack and I'm so glad it's on spotify. I believe they hired actual real life musicians for most of the voices, which is honestly really impressive.
I loved all of the characters, even some of the baddies. I feel like everyone was memorable, and had their own unique personality that you could really get behind. There was so much diversity, queer characters, and black characters which was really refreshing. There was no shame or oddness about it, people would just openly admit to being queer, or gay couples could kiss and get married, and it would be no big deal. As it should be in reality.
The animation was great too, especially during the performance scenes. I loved watching the characters sing, dance, and come to life as they poured their hearts out. I loved the singing competitions and the humor behind them, with the judges being their own quirky characters. I loved how when things got to their extreme near the end, with the police beginning to arrest singers and refugees how everyone decided to come together as one to try and make a positive impact on the world they were in. Even though in real life, this has happened and hasn't changed much, I'm glad it did make some change in the story of Carole and Tuesday, and I do hope that eventually, we can get to the same place in reality.
There's so much more I want to say, but I've written quite a lot. I really love Carole & Tuesday. This anime was an absolute treat and I'm so thankful I got to watch it. This is why I love anime. Please watch this show or recommend it to your friends.

The manhua/webtoon is way better than the anime. If you hated the anime then at least give the webtoon a shot, since it's much more in depth. A lot of important scenes and plot points are cut out, and a lot of content in the anime is original. I'm glad that we're finally starting to see webtoons and manhua become part of the anime world and handled by a bigger production. However I will not hold back on my criticism with how it turned out.
The art was unique but at times it felt plain and devoid of life. The animation was nothing remarkable. Sound
...
was great because of Kevin Penkin. I enjoyed the Korean opening and ending songs, but I felt the animation in both of them was lacking any excitement or uniqueness. The characters barely get any development within the limited 13 episode chunk that the show was given, but I can say they all get substantially better in the webtoon. I really enjoyed this up until the nearing final episode, which I have a big rant about below.
Overall, 7/10. Could be better.
(Episode 13 spoiler:)
In the webtoon, the reasoning behind Rachels betrayal is kept a secret even as far as the middle of the story. In the anime, they spend an entire episode explaining it to death to the audience which completely kills any mystery around their fucked up relationship. Not to mention, Rachel is portrayed in a much kinder, fragile light than in the story, where she's a flat out ruthless jerk. She literally stabbed Bam and then pushed him, but that was also cut out from the anime. It shows him just slowly sinking to the bottom from being pushed. Not attempting to swim. Logically it makes no sense for him to randomly be floating downwards this way, unless he was stabbed. Which was removed for some godforsaken reason.

Interspecies Reviewers is a timeless classic. A fine art, aged beautifully and pumped out into pure perfection. I would even dare call it Anime of the Year. This is a completely serious review, I am totally not joking. Go along on a journey of honest debachery, and watch as two perverts corrupt an innocent angel along the way.
This is the truest form of character growth, even Horikoshi could take a lesson as our best boy? Girl? Who cares! Angel-chan gets even more character development than Deku.
Watch as every kind of girl you can possibly think of gets the ultimate ride of her life. And if
...
hetero isn't entirely your thing, no worries! There's genderswapping and yuri moments galore, and even some futa and sausage party action!
The true reason that Interspecies reviewers is the ultimate anime, is because it does not care what parts you, or the person you're sloshing have, all that matters is the act of getting it on! Interspecies Reviewers teaches acceptance of all genders and bodies, as you see many shapes and sizes throughout the show! Have you ever seen an anime so open minded and accepting? Of course not! The creator behind this is simply a pure intellectual!
The only reason it was removed from Funimation was because they feared the message this show contained, and the masses of close minded mortals. It was simply too powerful and big-brained for the plebians to withstand! But do not fear, for I am sure if you just go to Popcorn Hub, you'll find it there with ease!
Overall, I review Interspecies Reviewers as 10/10!

Girls Last Tour features two young girls, Chito and Yuuri, whom slowly weld their way into your heart as you get to know them and follow them along on their journey. Despite how hopeless and desolate their situation is, they don't give up and continue forward, fighting to survive and hold onto hope that perhaps they'll discover something different up ahead.
Despite the depressing premise, it's not a story that's overtly intense or action-packed. This is not the story for you if that's the expectation you have, or the type of media you crave.
(Spoilers from here on out, yes you should watch it.)
This
...
story will make you reflect on things you've taken for granted. It will teach you that even in a situation as hopeless as the one Chito and Yuuri are in, that there's ways to find joy and hope in simple small things. Even Iishi and Kanazawa, who were more worn down by the hopelessness and isolation they experienced from being alone for so long, tried their best in their own ways to turn their situation into something less bleak. They gave themselves a purpose in order to continue onward.
Chito and Yuuri's relationship is very close and special. They may fight and bicker sometimes, but in the end they always laugh it off and continue onwards. As the story progresses, you find yourself loving their pure interactions and cheering for both of them. The following will be my personal opinion, but I believe there was more to Chito and Yuuri's relationship than just friendship. Especially that final scene in the last episode where:
They held hands and stared at each other in a very intimate way for way too long as they confessed that, as long as they had each other nothing else would matter. Not even the world ending.
In my opinion that scene was definitely queer-coded, and no one will convince me otherwise.
Besides the characters, my favorite part was the overall music and soundtrack. I found myself bopping to the opening and dancing along with the girls at the start. Whenever the soundtrack played during the episode, I'd feel the emotions of the track along with whatever was happening with the scene. I would get strong feelings of dread, sadness, or joy depending. It was very powerful and one of the strong suits of the anime for certain.
The art style on the other hand was relatively simple and suited the whole premise/idea that the anime stood for. The backgrounds were plain for the most part, which again suited the cutesty moe-blob in a post-apocalyptic world. The animation wasn't that great, as a lot of the time the characters or background was stagnant. There would be times where the animation was janky as it skipped to bad CGI of Chito or Yuuri and then back to regular animation again. This usually happened as they were riding their Kettenkrad. Despite this, it wasn't enough to ruin the whole experience for me and I was able to continue on with a mild annoyance when it did occur.
I close off my review of Girls Last Tour with a sense of sadness. These girls had become special to me in a way I did not expect. They are still continuing onward in their journey to the top, and eventually the moon itself. But we have a confirmation by the strange AI they encountered that the world is for certain ending, and that they're the only ones left. I find myself wanting to know about these girls, their past, and the world around them, the AI, everything it has to offer, as well as their ending and the climax to their relationship before the true worlds end. It's an intriguing story, and definitely worth a watch.

Let me just start off by saying I don't normally do reviews. However, after just finishing the final episode I feel strongly compelled to do so.
I seen this anime appear on recommended lists many of times, however based off of the sypnosis, I passed it off many times. Now that I've finished it, my only regret is the fact I never watched this sooner. You can read this as it contains no spoilers.
Characters:
The very first thing I noticed about this anime right off the bat was the characters. Not once was I ever bored with a single one of them. Infact, I found
...
myself highly intrigued with every single one instead of just a select few like I do in most animes. What caught me off guard was how unique and quirky they all were. Most animes tend to do so in a way which I find annoying and repetitive, however in this one it wasn't bothersome at all and made me grow to love them even more. From Haru's usual antics, Yuki freaking out from his social anxiety, to Akira and Tapioca being downright ridiculous, they helped pull me out of my depression just for a while and laugh for the first time and days. I highly recommend this series if you need something to pick you up.
Sound:
The music was great. I grew to love the opening as time went on, and by the end of the series I found myself singing the Enoshima dance song, and even wanting to do the dance myself! I didn't notice a flaw with it as I was so into the story and characters.
Art:
Another thing I noticed right away was the anime style. Though I typically am not picky with that, I did like it and found it very pretty with how simple and relaxing it was. As far as I could tell the animation was fine, I saw no mistakes and again, was too enraptured in the characters and story to notice.
Story:
I expected it to be a boring show solely about fishing. I never expected it to turn out the way it did! And when Haru was talking about certain things at the beginning I never actually took him seriously! Well boy was I proven wrong. I've never seen an anime like this, and I've watched over 200, so I'd say in my perspective it was quite original. The plot twists were unexpected and every episode just had me wanting more and more. If theres one thing that this anime has taught me, it's to not judge an anime based off of its sypnosis! In other words, things aren't always what they seem to be.
Enjoyment:
I think it's quite obvious how much I enjoyed this!
Overall:
I give this anime a 10/10. I enjoyed it and there wasn't a second that I wasn't bored with it. I found myself ignoring messages just to keep watching more! This here is a hidden gem in the rough, that you'll never find unless you stumble upon it. Since you have now though, I hope you too can watch it without judgement, I promise it'll be worth your time!

It was alright. Not horrible, not bad, but not amazing, the best, or the greatest either. It wasn't the most original thing going on and most of it was predictable. Nothing really excited me or had me on the edge of my seat. The ending is satisfactory but I still feel like the anime lacked something to make it better than it was. It also reminded me too much of Ouran Highschool Host Club which left the same empty lackluster feeling. The pairings were okay but I was disappointed that Ruken and Suskihotaru were never given enough screen time to have their growing relationship shine
...
on screen. (The only thing that piqued my interest.) Overall I give it a 6, because it was pretty average and nothing too special. Again it's not horrible, just decent. If you're sick or it's a rainy day and you can't find a good anime to watch then this will be good enough, but you're better off finding something like Death Note.

I have never gave an anime such a pathetic score until today.
It starts off like a seemingly normal anime until ''little slugger'' strikes. So far its pretty good and interesting, however as it goes on I found myself lost and wondering what the hell I was watching. Some of the episodes didn't really make sense and some characters had absolutely nothing to do with anything. Although the ending did have an interesting plot twist, the surreal and unrealistic themes they added destroyed any seriousness or realism to the anime which killed it for me. I was highly disappointed in the end that such a
...
good idea could be ruined.
I ended up giving it a 4, I feel sad doing that being a huge fan of Death Note, Monster, and many other psychological/Mystery animes.
