This anime has been hyped up as the greatest Isekai ever made and that all other Isekai are modelled on it due to how good it is. I respectfully disagree.

The first episode of this anime had me gripped instantly. The artwork, audio, characters, the world. Watching this reincarnated person actually learning about the world instead of instantly being an OP MC was a very nice change of pace for an Isekai and I was starting to see why it was hailed as the grandfather of Isekai.
For me personally, the characters are interesting but at the moment, we have not dove too far into
...
their developments yet. Then we find out that Paul is an unfaithful rapist, hard to enjoy a rapist joking about women's breast sizes with their child (regardless of his real age, he's a child in their world).
All the women you encounter, you learn Paul has smashed. A recurring and boring trope is beginning to take place.
The MC is a pervert and arguably a paedophile. A lot of anime have MC's that are pervy, the Japanese audience seems to enjoy it and so it keeps happening but this specific case is a bad one. This MC is an adult in a child's body, fondling little girls bodies. He may look like a child, but he has the mentality of an adult and makes a conscious decision to grope his sleeping cousin in her sleep and while going even further, she wakes up and stops him. We are supposed supposed laugh at him being punched and yet it feels gross, not funny.
This animes soundtrack is insane, the art is insane, the voice acting is superb, the world building is amazing, the lore is interesting, the trailer is breath taking - the final product however, is repeatedly destroyed by this recurring "sexual assault is funny because he's a child" theme. I wish I could continue to enjoy this anime but these scenes have just become too awkward to endure.
Don't get me wrong, this review is not coming from a snowflake, I'm enjoying Redo of a Healer very much but that doesn't pretend to be something it isn't, it embraces it. Just my two cents personally, I would advise skipping this one.

ReZero blows this mess out of the park and Slime, despite being a bit more child friendly, is still for me, a more enjoyable watch! And of course, the kinds of Isekai is Konosuba.
