It's a cat! No- it's a banana, It's Bananya! The utterly adorable kitty who is inside a banana.
Story (9):
The story follows the adventures of Bananya and his friends and family. Each episode is a whole lot of fun, possible a bit cliche, but undeniably enjoyable. Although, please keep in mind that this is a kids show so it is not for everyone. There are no evil characters or sinister companies, deep plot twists or fight scenes, it is just pure fun that can be watched by people of all ages.
Art (10):
The art is absolutely adorable! The color palate is bright and colorful, the animation smooth,
...
the backgrounds well done and the character designs incredible. There is nothing to pick on, no inconsistencies, nothing.
Characters (9):
For a kids show, the characters are executed very well. As we all know, our main character is Bananya, a white kitty inside a banana. But he isn't the only bananya around! We have a whole cast of adorable characters, like Baby Bananya, Bananya-ko, Kuro Bananya etc. All the characters are likeable and cute. They all have their own little quirks and personality traits for example the incredibly narcissistic Kanage Bananya who is admired by Bananya-Ko.
Sound (10):
This anime only has three voice actors, but they all executed their respective roles incredibly well. Yuki Kaji (Eren Jaeger in Attack on Titan and Yukine in Noragami) voices 5 of the bananyas, including the main role Bananya and Ayumu Murase (Hinata in Haikyuu! and Shun in Shin Sekai Yori) also voices 5 bananyas as well as a mouse. Our narrator is Yoshikazu Ebisu who guides us through the world of Banaya perfectly.
There is only one piece of music used in this series; Lucky Holiday by AXELL featuring Bananya's voice actor Yuki Kaji and it is totally adorable and suits the anime to a T.
Overall Enjoyment (10):
Overall Bananya is an anime everyone can enjoy! With adorable characters, art and music as well as top notch voice actors, you should defenitly give it a go and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

"In a world overflowing with entertainment I want to create a path for Rakugo to survive"
- Sukeroku Yuurakutei
Story (9):
The story is mostly about the lives of two great Rakugo performers, Sukeroku and Yakumo. We see them mature from children to adults as they learn to perform the art of Rakugo. But it is not only the characters that mature, but also their Rakugo. As the characters learn and develop, their Rakugo does too. The story had great pacing and felt quite realistic, it was really quite beautiful.
Characters (9):
The characters are really what make this anime fantastic. Our main characters are Yakumo and Sukeroku, who start
...
off as two abandoned children who are learning Rakugo under the same master. Very quickly they become adults and start performing. As mentioned above, the characters are very developed and lovable. The relationship between our MC's was highly realistic, they love each other, then become frustrated with each other, have a fight and then go back to loving each other again.
Sound (9):
The music had quite a 'vintage' quality to it, which suited the anime very well. The music was likeable and the animation of the op and ed sequences was just amazing.
The voice actors had the difficult job of voicing full Rakugo performances, which they managed to pull off amazingly. They also suited the roles of the characters well.
Art (9):
The artwork done by Studio Deen was very well done. As the voice actors had the difficult job of voicing the Rakugo performances, the studio had the difficult job of animating them and they also did a terrific job of that. The art was consistent, had a nice style and good detail.
Overall Enjoyment (9):
Overall I think that this anime was an incredible watch, it was really incredible in every category and I can't find any faults! If you loved the drama and friendship of animes like Nana you will be certain to enjoy this as well.

So, if you are a fan of anime the chances are that you're a fan of manga as well. If so, Bakuman is defenitly an anime you should consider watching, it tells you everything you could want to know about manga and is filled with dreams, love and friendship.
Story (8):
So, the story for Bakuman is pretty simple; Moritaka Mashiro has long since given up on his childhood dream of becoming a mangaka (manga artist). That is, until his classmate Akito Takagi sees his drawings and proposes that he and Mashiro become a mangaka duo with Mashiro as the illustrator! Eventually,Takagi convinces Mashiro and the two
...
work towards there dream of making a manga that gets an anime adaptation.Let the games begin.
Art (8):
The art by J.C staff (best known for there slice-of-life works like Tora Dora and Pet Girl Of Sakurasou) was consistent and has a nice style. The character designs were also well done and I felt that overall the art was pretty good.
Characters (9):
The characters were super lovable! Bakuman dealt with a fairly large cast of characters very well. Our main characters Takagi and Mashiro had wonderful personalities and had a developed friendship that felt realistic. The rest of the cast was also amazing; there was Eiji Nizuma who was far from the typical rival character, Miho Azuki and Miyoshi Kaya were also far from the typical love interests. And there are many over character that are far from typical, too many to name, but they are all just as amazing and developed as these!
Sound (6):
To be honest, I really didn't think the music was great. The pieces were mostly flat and un-memorable, nothing much to write home about. Although, this is just my opinion.
Thankfully, the voice acting was amazing. Especially Satoshi Hino (Sayama Ryou in the Code Geass movies) as Takagi and Nobuhiko Okamoto (Obi in Akagami no Shirayuki-hime) as Eiji.
Overall Enjoyment (8):
Overall, as a huge fan of the manga, I think the anime adaptation was very faithful to the manga.

Friendship is used in practically every media. Whether it's anime. manga, books or TV shows. But never have I seen anything that has portrayed it as well as Shinsekai Yori.
Story (8):
The story is set in the distant future and follows the lives of five children: Saki, Mamoru, Satoru, Shun and Maria. In their society everyone has a special power called "Cantus". They go to Sage Academy where they learn to manipulate their Catus. Their lives are seemingly peaceful, but there are rumors spreading that children who cannot properly use their Cantus suddenly vanish....but nobody seems to remember them. When Saki and her friends go for
...
a trip, they find the truth....a truth that threatens to rip their beautiful friendship apart. The story takes place over 3 periods of time, when the characters are 12 years old, 14 years old and 26 years old. This was an interesting part of the anime, but I felt that it made the overall pacing a bit slow, though not overly so.
Characters (8):
The characters and there friendship is defenitly a key part of this anime. The characters were likeable and had some of the best development I have ever seen, especially in how the relationship's between the characters was constantly changing and developing. Having said that, I felt that Mamoru didn't have enough focus on him and therefore he didn't have much development in comparison to the others.
Sound (9):
Shinsekai Yori defenitly had some gorgeous pieces of music. The ED was sung by Saki's voice actor Risa Taneda and the OP sung by Maria's voice actor Kana Hanazawa. They were equally beautiful, moving pieces that suited the anime very well.
Speaking of the voice actors, they were amazing. With famous seiyus such as Yuki Kaji as Satoru and Kana Hanazawa as Maria the voice acting is just the cherry on the top of the cake for this anime. Seriously stunning!!!
Art (7):
The art wasn't really what I was expecting from A1-Pictures. The style itself was quite simple and not very unique but the art was generally quite consistent and most of the backgrounds were well done. I felt that the character designs were simple, not bad, but not amazing.
Overall Enjoyment (8):
All in all I think that Shinsekai Yori is a futuristic anime like no other. It has a tense, even depressing, atmosphere that will delight any thriller lover.

By looking at the cover of Love Live! it pretty much looks like a show targeted towards guys about 'cute girls doing cute things'. But in no way should you judge a book by it's cover so is this show really what it looks like?
Story (7):
So, the concept of Love Live! is pretty nice. Honoka who loves her school wants to stop it from closing down by starting a School Idol group. It is straightforward and it should provide much material for the story to progress. It should have, but it didn't. This show was practically just filler episode after filler episode with not
...
much progression of the actual story and many repetitive scenes. As well as that, there were many plot holes. Some of the serious scenes were over-dramatized and all in all the first season just didn't get anywhere.
Art (9):
One of the great things about Love Live! is the beautiful art from Sunrise. The art was consistent and had a lovely art style. There was minimal use of CGI, the only scenes that used it were the live performances, and for CGI it was very well done. Most of the character designs were memorable and unique. Overall the art is probably my favorite thing about the anime.
Characters (6):
The characters were....well cute girls all with very different personalities, and by 'different personalities' I mean a bunch of different stereotypes. For a start Honoka, our heroine, who in a few words is: dumb, energetic, forgetful and cheerful. Just what you would expect from a 'cute girls doing cute things anime'. The rest of the characters were pretty much the same, a simple, stereotyped personality with no real back story and no development.
Sound (8):
Considering this is an idol anime, you would expect great, idol music. And that is exactly what we got from Love Live! The music was well suited to the show and the OP and ED had nice animation sequences. Unfortunately I found that the voice acting was not the best, in my opinion Minami and Honoka's voices were just plain annoying and the rest of the voice acting wasn't much better.
Overall (7):
Overall, Love Live! really did not live up to my expectations, but if you do want an anime that you can just sit back and watch without really having to think about it, this is that type of anime.

Recently, there have been a lot of horror anime with the theme of 'mysterious things happening in a small village', like Higurashi or the very recent Mayoiga. Well Shiki is another one of those anime's with the 'mysterious things happening in a small village' theme but what makes it different to the others? Vampires.
Story (8):
Like I said, Shiki follows the very common theme of 'mysterious things happening in a small village'. The only thing that is very different is the fact that the story was filled with vampires. That's not to say that the story wasn't good. It was. Especially the fact that
...
it took three different perspectives from three different characters , which I haven't really seen before in anime.
Art (9):
Wow. That is the word to describe the art of Shiki. The art style is so gorgeous and unique. The character designs were well done apart from a few that looked a bit childish but that didn't really matter because for the most part they were really well done! Moreover the art was very consistent.
Characters (9):
The characters of Shiki were really standout's! Like I said earlier, the story took three different perspectives from 3 characters: Natsuno, Toshio and Muroi. This allowed us to get to know the characters better. All of the characters had absolutely fantastic development and moreover all of them were lovable!
Sound (9):
Another thing I loved about Shiki is the amazing sound. I will admit, the voice acting wasn't amazing, but the music was! Every single piece of it's music was catchy, enjoyable and well suited to the anime. Not only that but the BGM was probably the best I've heard. The animation of the OP's and ED's was also gorgeous. I seriously cannot praise this enough.
Overall Enjoyment (8):
Overall I think Shiki has some really amazing qualities and is really an anime like no other! Despite all the criticism, if you are a fan of super dark anime that makes you question humanity this is definitely an anime you should check out!

Battle scenes! Yandere! Bombs! What more could you want from an anime?
Well Mirai Nikki gives you all of that and more!
Story (9):
Yukiteru Amano is an observer who writes everything that he observs in his cell phone. He is also a loner with no friends other than his 'imaginary' friend Deus Ex Machina. At least that is until he finds out that Deus is real and is a dying god. Deus gives him a 'diary' that predicts the future and he is set up in a battle-to-the-death/last-one-standing-wins scenario with 11 other ‘future diary’ holders and the last one standing gets to become god when Deus
...
dies, or else the world will end. Yukiteru ends up teaming up with his schoolmate and long-term stalker Yuno Gasai to try to survive.
Art (8):
The art was generally very good. The style was very similar to the manga, which was good. The fight scenes were very well done and there were few inconsistencies. The character designs were simple but good and there was good attention to detail.
Sound (9):
The sound was truly amazing. For a start the voice actors were great, particularly Misuzu Togashi (Origami in Date a Live and Minatsu in Seitokai No Ichizon) as Yukiteru and Mai Aizawa (Mio in Nichijou and Rie in Clannad) as Minene.
All of the music was very catchy and well suited to the anime. I loved the animation of opening and ending sequences.
Charactrs (10):
Honestly, I think the best part about Mirai Nikki is its fabulous characters. Everybody knows this anime for its Yandere character Yuno Gasai, who is crazy but still very lovable as well as mysterious. Yukiteru, who is a complete wimp, is not all that likeable but I do have to say is still a well-developed character. But that is not all this anime has to offer in terms of characters, in fact Mirai Nikki has a huge cast of loveable well-developed characters. To name a few, Minene Uryuu, a well-known terrorist who starts off as one of the ‘bad guy’ characters in the anime but transforms from a foe to an ally, and a very helpful one at that, and Yukiteru’s mysterious schoolmate Aru Akise who loves to play the part of the detective and hardly ever shows up at school. And there are many, many more of these types of characters in this anime, too many to name, but all you need to know is that they are all really awesome!
Overall Enjoyment (9):
Overall I think that Mirai Nikki is truly an anime like no other. If you like somewhat horror-ish action anime, this is definitely an anime you should check out!

Based off of the dating sim/visual novel by Key, Clannad is a lovable classic that is not to be missed.
Story (8):
The story for Clannad is very simple; Tomoya Okazaki is a delinquent who goes through life skipping school and hanging out with his fellow delinquent and only friend, Youhei Sunohara. He believes that his life is repetitive and will never change. That is, until he meets Nagisa Furukawa, a girl who loves school and dreams of reviving the school's drama club. He finds himself drawn to her, and she eventually they become friends.
Characters (8):
Clannad is packed full of interesting, lovable and developed characters, who
...
may be a little bit stereotyped but not enough to make you dislike them, in fact they are much less stereotyped than the average harem anime. The only bad thing about a few of the characters, like in other harem anime, is that once they had played their part in the story they practically disappeared from the story. The bigger part these characters played in the story, the less they appeared later on. The only characters that were consistently in the story were Tomoya, Nagisa and Sunohara. Though, this was expected considering that it was based off of a dating sim.
Art (10):
As expected from Kyoto Animation the art was absolutely spectacular, especially considering that the anime was made in 2008! In fact the first thing that really struck me about this anime was the art. Everything from the style to the character designs was just beautiful and completely memorable. There was attention to detail and I really couldn't find any inconsistencies in the artwork. The character designs are also detailed and unique, as well as super cute!
Sound (9):
Another stand out feature of Clannad is the beautiful sound track. The opening is gorgeous and catchy and the ending theme was just as amazing~Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango, Dango, Daikazoku!
The voice actors suites there roles very well, especially Yuuichi Nakamura (Kyohei in Durarara! and Nozaki is Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-Kun) as the MC Tomoya and Mai Nakahara (Rena in Higurashi and Juvia in Fairy Tail) as Nagisa.
Overall Enjoyment (8):
Overall Clannad is a beautiful anime that is loved and will be continued to be loved for years to come.
