Hirunaka no Ryuusei
(Manga)
add
This manga started out very strong in terms of story and character, towards the end it became unfocused. A story that once featured a strong female character struggling to fit in was reduced to a love triangle and the strong female character was reduced to a prize. While you could argue that there were hints towards the ending it still came off as rather abrupt, and rushed, with a main character's backstory being shoved into one chapter, the last chapter, taking the focus off of the protagonist, and from a literary standpoint it read as unrealistic. It's not even unique in that other manga have

Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
(Anime)
add
Before watching this series whenever I'd ask 'What romance anime should I watch?' on Yahoo! Answers I'd always get 'Kaicho wa Maid-sama it's the BEST!!' I put it off for a while because it just didn't seem interesting and then I finally came back to it.
Story: Well to those who liked it, I hate to burst your bubble but there's really no substantial conflict or story. A boy likes a girl, the girl dislikes him, boy finds out that girl works at maid cafe, girl panics etc. The only real point of conflict is that Misaki doesn't want anyone to find out that she works at ... Inu x Boku SS

When I first read about this anime I did my research and found it was being based off of a manga so naturally I decided to read the manga so I could make compatisons. I wanted to watch the anime right away when it came out but decided to wait for all the episodes to come out first, and then I got busy with school and did not have the chance to watch it until now.
Story (8): I gave the story an eight because it's a little cliche and while I enjoyed it and thought it sweet endearing and fluffy it may be a little ... Jul 9, 2011
Mayo Chiki!

When I went to watch the first episode I was expecting it to be a bit ecchi with a lot of breast scenes and such, things that as a heterosexual female I'm not too fond of, as normally seen in an anime with the male telling the story (a few exceptions to this include Toradora!) however I discovered that it's not actually that bad, the few scenes that there are aren't too horrible and from the first episode I can see that the scenes are spread apart so that it's not one right after another. The story also seems to be interesting, but this also

Tennis no Oujisama
(Manga)
add
This is one of my favorite manga, I started watching it when I discovered I had a small interest in tennis but I would suggest this manga for even those that don't. This manga has a nice feel to it, you get to experience all the happiness and excitement that the players feel when they win and all the sadness and disappointment when they lose. I also like the way the way each of the teams seems to have such strong friendship that they become almost like a family. And besides that Ryoma is just flat out adorable!
It's like one of those feel-good sports movies ... Jul 8, 2011
Kuroshitsuji II

I personally thought this was a nice follow up to the first season. The only reason I give it a bad review was because of personal reasons. I absolutely hated Alois Trancy who was a sick little kid with an angelic face that smiled when people died and Claude just because Sebastian's better. I personally thought the two of them were cheap imitations of Ciel and Sebastian. To anyone who wants to watch this feel free. The review is purely based off of my own feelings. I have known people who have liked Alois.
Though I strongly suggest you read the manga instead. |
