I heard a lot of good things about Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, so I decided to try it out. I didn't know too much about it besides that it was sad at times with good comedy. I had high expectations for this anime, and i was not disappointed in the slightest except for the last episode which i'll get to later on in the review. Surprisingly the anime was much more dramatic than I expected and i hadn't seen much dramatic anime before, but overall I liked the dramatic feel to the show. I'll tell you why my expectations were met and/or exceeded in
...
the categories below.
Characters/Development: 10/10
The reason for me loving this anime so much was because of the characters at Sakurasou. I think why I enjoyed these characters so much wasn't because of their individual personalities because honestly their personalities who pretty cliche with the crazy-energetic girl, the shut-in, the quit innocent girl, the womanizer (at first), and the normal guy just goes to high school, but with all that said I extremely enjoyed the relationships between the characters. How everyone interacted with each other and cared for each other why quite outstanding. It was joyous and saddening to see what these characters went through TOGETHER and how they developed as characters TOGETHER. This is what makes this show great in my eyes. Just how the relationships all have an important and crucial meaning to the anime and helps with the overall enjoyment of the show. I really wish more shows had this kind of style with their characters. Also each character had a decent past/development time to get to know the characters even more and understand why they make the decisions they make. One of my favorite cast's ever along with Steins:Gate.
Story: 8/10
This was probably the weakest part for me about the series. But that doesn't mean it was lacking. It just seemed the story wasn't very clear to me. Basically things came up and the characters got involved into some activity and did whatever activity it was or some character had an issue to be solved and it was solved. I don't want to say too much more or else I will spoil everything. Do not worry too much about the story going into this, the characters are well enough to make up a good story and all intertwines together. In short though, Sorata (the male protagonist) doesn't know what he wants to do with his life, so he thinks of something and wants to work really hard as everyone else at Sakurasou and thrives off of their hard work to work hard by himself, all the while having to take care of Mashiro.
Here's what bugged me about the story, I didn't like how the romance was played out. Without spoiling anything, the romance in the anime seems confusing and all out of the place and it made me disappointing because some characters weren't treated fair or payed any attention to when they should be. I may sound confusing right now, but if you should ever watch this all the way through, I think you'll understand what i'm trying to say.
Oh, there's a lot of feels and drama in this anime, which can be a good or bad thing. I personally liked all of it and I don't even like this kind of stuff. But I had the waterworks almost runnin at times. This anime is saddening but in a good way. You'll like it.
Art 10/10
I didn't have any complaints with the art or animation at all. It seemed very fluid and crisp to me at all times. Great choice of colors throughout the anime and the character designs were fantastic. Nothin much to say here. One should not be disappointed in this category. No scenes ever lacked any detail. They always put the most detail into every scene which I liked.
Sound 10/10
I looooooved the openings and ending in this series. Especially the first opening and ending. I could listen to them all day! The second opening was good as well and the second ending. They fit well with the series quite smoothly. The OST's were excellent as well. They played a "serious" song when things got serious and were completely appropriate for the times. They had "comedic" songs during comedic times. Basically, they played the right music at the right times to fight with the current scene.
Overall I enjoyed this anime so much due to its characters togetherness's development. It was great to watch what they went through in a good way and how they accomplished their tasks. Episode 23 was hands down one of the BEST EPISODES IN ANY ANIME I have ever seen. I LOVED this episode more than any other one and 22 was good too, but 23 was AWESOME. The emotions were running VERY high and I just loved how well-executed this episode was. During the middle of the series you might start to get bored, but trust me if you do, just wait it out. It only gets even better. I would say the enjoyment levels are high towards the beginning and end of the anime, not to say the middle wasn't enjoyable, it was, but not as much in my opinion. With all of that said, I enjoyed this anime thoroughly from start to finish.
Now please, just watch this and enjoy some Mashiro

Well this anime was just terrible, its exactly what the 1 says: pathetic. I actually thought it was going somewhere from the first episode but then it went way down into a hole and just stayed there, buried. i really only enjoyed 3 minutes of each episode, the openings and endings.
Story - Magical witches that have a harnest on there neck and have superpowers and need pills to survive. and also have aliens inside of them that people were trying to revive to take over the world. wow sounds great, not. about 6 episodes was kazumi making a sexual joke about murakami and her wanting
...
to not be virgin the rest her left and wanting to do it with murakami. And the other few episodes were murakami saying ill protect you guys over and over, and we here the girls say "murakami! murakami!" which got rather annoying. the story was a complete joke, also the ending was one of the worst ever i thought. hey there is fanservice though.
Characters - The characters were all pointless, no development from any characters except for murakami which still didnt have that much, none really interested me, is was basically a harem after the girls met murakami and instantly fell in love with him, except for a few of the girls. the characters and their development can relate to the level of infinite stratos's level of character development, unless if you thought infinite stratos had good character development.
Sound - now this was something i loved of the anime, the op's were awesome, fit the series nice, and ed was nice and relaxing and liked it, ost was pretty cool throughout the anime. this is probably the only reason i kept watching this anime
Animation - was alright.
Overall - dont waste your time with this show, youll think its getting better and the story is moving on but it never does, its just one more girl to the harem, and murakami saying he'll protect the girls every 5 minutes, only watch the op's and ed if you really want to. honestly they could of done a much better job with this anime, but i just couldnt take it seriously, sorry if i bashed on this anime too much.

Well the synopsis sounded interesting so i added this to my show to watch in the spring, so i decided to watch it, and after the first episode i was pleaseantly suprised, i actualy thought this was going somewhere, and for awhile i kind of did, but later on i thought the story went downhill got repetitive, and somewhat annyoing, but after reading this review you should still give this a shot regardless.
Story - The first episode you are introduced to three characters, chaika, toru, and akari. At first glance this seems like one of those cliche stories where a guy encounters a girl and
...
helps her out, but later on i thought i kind of went away from the cliche and was a little more original but not much, and we see throughout the anime the three's adventures and who they meet and what they encounter. I thought in the first few episodes the pacing and consistency was good, but then after that i felt there were some boring filler type epsidoes which they werent but felt like, and i felt the different adventure spots i guess felt kind of repetitive and boring, there were some good fights here and there though so it wasent that bad, and chaika's sentence structure after awhile might get annoying for some viewers, i myself didnt mind it that much. But the story here is somewhat cliche and nothing really new that jumped out to me, but i mean for some it might feel opposite of what i thought of the story. There were also many plot holes i felt like. They would bring out a new character and just kind of throw them away the next episode and not get much development.
Characters- Nothing really here actually, akari is that sister that kind of will do anything for her brother with some kind of love into it also, and the brother has to clear misunderstandings sometimes, toru is a pretty laid back kind of guy but if he makes a contract with someone he will always follow through with the plan, then chaika is that airheaded kind of girl that doesnt know what a sentence is and has little vocabulary, but is a very nice and sweet kind of girl that most viewers will end up being in love with her. And there are many other side characters that just kind of get thrown away except for a few, and didnt have that much of an impact in the story. Also the evil blonde kid at the end of the story was just downright stupid and im glad he died, he was a masochist or something like that. Some decent development here and there from the characters, could of been better
Animations - Not a huge fan of the art style, but i didnt really mind it. Animations at times felt rugged and undetailed, but definitely was beautiful at times. Not much to say here, i guess some characters had the pink cheeks default set on at all times.
Sound - I did enjoy the op and ed fit the series pretty nice, osts had a nice mix of guitar and other instruments when the action battles were going on. Probably could of played songs more or had more variety though.
Enjoyment - Throw away all the bad things i said and not expect too much out of this and just watch it, it could be quite the enjoyable ride, i actually thoroughly enjoyed this anime throughout the series, i definitely liked chaika and how they made her, little romance here there with toru which was nice, also i had some nice laughs (and scares), this can be a very enjoyable series if you are not expecting it to be something amazing.
Overall - I would recommend this to anyone that likes the adventure and action scenarios, also has some comedy and romance, pretty decent anime this spring. The technical things of this anime werent the best for me, but just sitting back and relaxed and watching this defeinitely was fun and entertaining for me.

When i first came across this i was not expecting to add it to my spring anime list, but i saw it and it caught my eye, or maybe i just wanted to watch some more anime that night, so i watched it and i definitely added it onto my list.
The storyline of this anime was definitely its weak point for me. It didnt seem consistent to me at all, it would keep jumping from story to story without ever really finishing anything up ( maybe they are saving to tell everything in a second season??) but the story was actually decent the pacing
...
was nice, but still kind of jumped around it seemed like.
The characters in this anime were for the most part likeable and fun. Yama juugo was my favorite character, had a nice sense of humour, never wanted his ego to get the better of him, always tries his best to help out someone in need, and was not your typical "over powerful, over whatever" kind of guy, was just an average jock looking for an apartment and got one with a ghost inside, nanana i thought needed more screen time personally, i thought she was an interesting character but didnt get much development, tensai was also a very cool and interesting character (maybe jugos love interest??) but she was very smart in figuring everything out and wasent annoying like most other heorines (i think i spelled that right), and there are many more good characters in the show you just have to watch it.
I was in love with the openings and endings, the songs were a perfect fit for the show and didnt spoil anything like every shounen anime does, and the sound in the anime was nice too.
Animations were also very well done, very fluid, good art on the characters. Overall it had the shiny look and appeal on the characters.
Overall i really enjoyed this series, had quite a few laughs, even some intense feels, some romance here and there, evil schemes, superpowers, just a great show. I was very sad to see it end at the last episode (which is a very good ending episode IMO)
I highly recommend this! You will have to watch it to know more!

To make things clear, you don't really need to watch the original CG series before watching this, it does well to explain itself.
The setting of the movie is right in between of the original R1 and R2 series, after lelouch and suzaku had their duel. And it takes place in Europe and their encounters with Britannia invading them.
And right from the get go we get all out knightmare fights, which is amazing, the animations during the fighting were visually stunning, and that's where this movie shines the most, and then after the beginning fights we meet the two main characters, and then there isn't much
...
action after the first 5-10 minutes, its basically just getting to the know the characters and what's happening at that time.
I'm not quite sure what the "final goal" of this movie is, the story isn't really heading anywhere, or it might be, but I'm not really sure where. And the pacing of this movie seemed pretty inconsistent, they prolonged some things that could've been shortened and some things that were to short and should've of been prolonged. But nonetheless the story seems interesting to me and I hope it can go somewhere from here
Like I said, the animations and art were wonderful. Especially the fight scenes, how the machines moved were just so smooth and fluid.
We get some decent character development from Akito and Leila, not much other than those two get any development. They do seem to have interesting personalities though, Akito especially, I can't quite seem to figure him out yet. Akito seems the opposite of lelouch, Akito wants to be on the front line and just attack like crazy without much strategy, while lelouch sits back a little more and uses his intelligence and strategy making skills to beat his opponents. Leila is pretty awesome also, she's kind of like if you mess with me I'm going to round house ninja kick your face, or that's what she seemed like to me, she easily has good intentions of what she does, Akito seems to also have good intentions but I could be wrong.
The sound was good, picked up almost every sound of the clanking metal during the fights, soundtrack was ok, nothing special there.
While the pacing wasn't the best and with not much character development, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I loved the action scenes, and I definitely like Leila and Akito and hope to see more from them in the next installment. And it might feel weird to be watching code grass without lelouch, but Akito is interesting enough to get over the fact that there are all these new characters to get used to. So if you liked the original CG series you'll most likely enjoy this, and don't look at my 7 score and say, "oh the show was ok, maybe ill pass" don't pass. Just watch it, it'll be worth it.

I really wanted to give this a better score, but I just couldn't because of some of the flaws. Like sometimes from the end of an episode to the next one didn't really seem to fit together, its kind of like they just showed up to that place and you really have no idea what's going on, but this happens only a few times, and isn't really that bad, but I just thought o would give a heads up about it. The first 24 or so episodes were great, but I feel the next episodes didn't really seem to fit with the first 24ish episodes,
...
and that's just me.
May contain spoilers
So at first we see maka and her blade, soul. And they attack corrupted souls and then the weapon or soul eats the soul and when you get 100 of these souls the weapon turns into a deathscythe and seems to be more powerful, they didn't explain much of the powers you receive when you turn into a deathscythe. So know what? Do they go around trying to get more souls? Nope. They attacked a false witch to get the 100th soul, because you need a witches soul for the last one, and then they reset to 0, and this happens within the first 2 episodes I think. And the show then turns into maka and soul making friends in their school and face many enemies among they way, in the first 24 episodes there is a witch that is trying to revive the demon god, and we see what she does and how she tries to revive the demon god. Then after the demon god is revived things seem to go downhill, we meet new enemies who we don't know much of, and the witch takes over a kid, and the witch is now a kid, and I'm not sure what the goal is in the second half of the show, is the demon god trying to get revenge? The demon god just kind of sat around until the last episodes, and he got way to easily I thought. There is my say on the story, not the best but I liked it nonetheless, the characters were good, some were annoying, some were cool, some were strong, and some were weak. They are all well developed and get a good view on each of their personalities. I loved both of the openings, they were good songs and good videos, fit the show very well. Endings were good also. Animations and art were good, animations were good during fights, very fluid. Art was decent on the characters, some people looked unrealistic but overall good job there.
Now while the story wasn't the best, the fights were really good, non repetitive movements, animations were high up there, soundtrack was really good, good character list, some might be annoying to some viewers. Those things definitely make up for the weak storyline, and make it quite enjoyable for some people. I did actually enjoy it, so don't let my review of the story turn you away. If I were on the edge of watching this, I wouldn't waste another second, I would watch it right away

"I don't know everything. I just know what I know." Hanekawa's most used line. Probably.
Well this show definitely surprised me. I didn't really know what to expect when going into this show. I thought it would be about just a normal guy that goes around helping these girls like I did in recent shows I have seen. But bakemonigatari does a fantastic job of making this no ordinary show and has such a unique and interesting storyline and characters. There really are no other shows like this.
Story 9/10
One day araragi (such a fun name to say) goes to school and sees a girl falling and
...
he decides to run and catch her, little did he know that she was very light and didn't feel heavy at all when he caught her, and she has an "oddity" and helps her get rid of it. But all before this happened araragi was turned into a vampire. And I felt this was the only weak part of the story. I felt like they didn't explain very well on how araragi got turned into a vampire, I think they did some explaining in the first few minutes of the first episodes, but it didn't seem to clear things up for me, it seemed confusing (maybe I just forget, because its been a few months since I finished this show) and this is really the only weak point in the story, well for me it does, and maybe I didn't listen well enough or something. Anyways, throughout bakemonogatari, araragi and senjougahara (I think that's how you spell it?) are the main characters of this show and we see how they grow in relationship with each other all the while araragi is helping out these other girls with their oddities and we see what he and senjohara do to help them out. The pacing seems slow to some, but overall good constant pace throughout the show. I'll leave the rest to watching the show. And one thing to keep in mind is this show is heavy on the dialogue so you really have to be focused to understand what's going on, so this show isn't for everyone.
Characters 9/10
The characters are all excellent. They all have their roles and play the roles well. Really no dull characters, everyone is well developed, except maybe for araragi's characters but get more development in the sequel. Araragi really wants to help everyone and will do what it takes to help the girls get rid of their oddities. Senjougahara is a very interesting character, seems frightening at first but actually cares about people and how her actions impact others. Hanekawa is a genius and might actually know everything, but says she doesn't. Her and araragi are real good friends and we get to see her always helping out araragi when he doesn't know what to do. There are much more interesting characters and you'll have to watch to see how amazing they all are
Sound 8/10
I did enjoy the soundtrack a lot. I liked the eerie music they played when the conversations were serious and prolonged which really fit into the scenes perfectly. I felt they were lacking the action songs during the action moments, or maybe its just me. But overall the soundtrack is great. They also have different openings for each arc (person). Endings were good. I also liked the air sounds you could say when the characters moved the arms or something or when moving the camera from one person to the other. Probably the weak point of this show for me but still really good.
Art/Animation 9/10 (close to a 10/10)
This show has one of the best animations and art. I loved all of the weird camera angles shaft does, it can feel over excessive at some points but it really has a huge impact on the show. Like one example is that one person will be talking on camera, just statically, and then when the next person talks they'll zoom in a little, then the static person, then zoom in more on the zooming in person, and does for a few lines for each people and gives a very unique view of camera angles. The character art was just stunning. They all looked very proportioned and highly realistic. Well the only un realistic part would be when someone's arm gets cut off and about 100 gallons of blood spurts out and I say to myself, is that even possible? But overall animations were great. Especially the fighting scenes, they were very fluid and the visuals were amazing. Also this show is pretty darn graphic so be prepared.
Overall 9/10
Very unique and highly interesting storyline. Extremely nice art. Great characters with great development. Decent soundtrack. Highly enjoyable, all makes this show amazing. I definitely felt for each character at the end, all very likeable. I probably could of watched the whole show in one go or day but couldn't cause of time restrictions (school..). One of the more interesting and fascinating storylines which made the show highly enjoyable for me. Recommend this to anyone wanting an amazing story, characters, art, and a little romance here and there, not much comedy but still there.
+Great unique storyline
+Stunning visuals
+Senjougahara is in this
+Araragi is fun to say
+Awesome camera angles
+Never gets boring (not for me)
-A little weak on the soundtrack
-Unrealistic amounts of blood
Did I make you want to watch this? I hope so, you wont be disappointed

The best animated show I have ever seen. Period. I'll tell you why, hopefully.
At first when I read the synopsis I said to myself, "this show doesn't look very good, time traveling with a microwave or something?" it seemed kind of weird to me. But after a few weeks after I went ahead and gave it shot because of all the amazing reviews it got. The first 6 episodes were really good, but then after that it turned into something beyond excellence. Its hard to describe how great of a show it was the last 18 episodes. It pretty much changed my life. It also
...
taught me that you can't really cheat time or life for that matter. Many mixed feelings from this show, happiness, sadness, scared, confused and at the same time enjoying the heck out of the show. Now ill get to the review (Nostalgia is getting the best of me while writing this... sniff.... sniff)
Story 10/10
Before this show I hadn't seen any other show that has to do with time traveling or even science, there are probably some but none I have seen or heard of. And with this comes a very unique story. The pacing at first can feel slow for some people, but then after a few episodes. BAM. Twists after twist and then the pacing of the show moves perfectly as the show goes on. They truly used this story to its best, they didn't do anything half the effort. They put every bit of effort into this storyline and executed in an excellent way without messing it up. Because with time traveling as the story it could get really confusing and boring. But not the case here with Steins gate. Can't stress enough on how well the story is developed in this show. Don't want to say anything else. You'll have to watch the show to receive the awesomeness I got.
Characters 10/10
Probably the best developed and interesting characters of any show I have seen, especially the major ones. Okabe is charismatic, comedic, thoughtful, kind, and very intelligent. He definitely means good intentions for everyone and everything he does. He'll always act like someone is calling him on his phone in times of when he doesn't know what to say, which fits in great with whatever scene he is in. And he is guy that will never give up and puts forth every bit of effort into what he does. Very original, definitely not your typical cliché character. Makise. Main female protagonist of the show. Definitely a tsundere and my favorite also. At first seems like your typical tsundere character but later on in the series really develops quite well and we get to see different sides of her throughout the show. Takes an interest into Okabe and helps him in his journey of the time machine and his struggles. Also very intelligent. Would get into more detail about the other characters but these two are the main, main characters that make the show the best it can be. The other characters are great too. Well developed and have great personalities that fits in well with the show. The only other show that rivals this with character development would be code geass or clannad (those shows have good character development, right?) but great job here also.
Art/Animation 9/10
While not perfect here, definitely above average. The character art is great for all the characters. Wont say much here. Animations are fluid and smooth. Overall has a dark tone to the series especially the last 16 or so episodes. Lighting is great also.
Sound 8/10
Definitely the weakest part here, but not weak on its own. The opening is pretty good, fits well with the series. Soundtrack is good. Nothing really special here.
Overall 10/10
I enjoyed watching this more than any other show. The characters are so likeable all in their own way. You'll definitely feel for each character at the end of the show. This show will make you cry, laugh, and smile. Well it should. It was that awesome. This will probably be the only show I will re watch just because of the amazing storyline and character list. Such a unique show nothing really else like this. Very original, not sure if that means its good or bad, but probably good. Didn't think it was boring for one second. If there would be a flaw, it would probably be the slow start to the show, but I don't think it is, it might be for some people though.
I would start watching this show right now if I were you, it will definitely be worth your time, it was worth my time. And you might think if just some fanboy for steins gate, but I don't think that is the case. This show is amazing, a masterpiece.
One more thing, I don't really recommend watching the OVA, it kind of ruined the "feelings" I had after the original series. If I were I would wait a few days after watching the show, then watch the movie (which is awesome also) and then if you really want to you can watch the OVA, that's my take on it.
