Orange, within the first few episodes, was almost unbearable to watch for me. Between the dreadful cliches, to the confusing cut scenes between the future and the present, I almost gave up on this anime. However, I continued in hope of better enjoyment, and I'm glad I found it.

Story: 8/10
As someone who has experience with being someone who has the weight of a suicidal person on them, the story was rather believable and it covered important topics. I sometimes wish I could send a letter to my past self, to prevent certain events from happening. This story keeps

you on edge, questioning what was going to happen next. There's a certain progression in the story, which makes it so good. It doesn't reveal massive info all at once. It brings it out slowly, and it keeps an air of mystery. The dark topics portrayed in this anime are all brought out nicely, and correctly, for that matter. Overall, I found I had a pleasant time keeping track of what was going on.
Art: 6/10
The art itself, at times, was quite good. However, the characters were often drawn to look much older than high school age. Some of the details were rather poor, and the facial expressions were a bit comical in some episodes for such a serious anime. This could be chalked down to the budget, but I still can't say I'm impressed in any regard.
Sound: 6/10
The voice acting was great. I have no complaints on that regard. However, I have to take a lot of points off for music. It wasn't memorable or significant in any sense, and I just couldn't find a way it added to the anime.
Characters: 5/10
I'll start off by saying these characters are... almost textbook definition of cliche. I enjoyed Suwa and Kakeru, as they were both rather interesting to watch. Suwa was far too selfless for a high school student, but the dramatic portions of Kakeru were spot on. I've seen many people say it's over-dramatized, and they should have cut back. However, it was entirely realistic. Suicide is a dramatic topic, but a very serious one. He reacted very similarly to what I've experienced, and it's not at all dramatic for him to be upset over the death of his mother.
Hagita, Azusa, and Takako were all rather... unsignificant. They were very clearly a representation of cliches, with Hagita being the intelligent nerd, Azusa being the friendly and outgoing girl, and Takako being the silent but badass type. Insignificant, to say the least, but they had their moments that set them out as people. Granted, towards the end, but I digress.
However... Naho, to be blunt, is an idiot. I don't care that she was meant to represent being awkward and shy, but she made me want to bash my laptop against a wall. She couldn't see what was glaringly obvious. I know that's so it can be realistic, as teenagers aren't the most perceptive, but it was to the level of obnoxiousness. There are times when it was too subtle, and it made sense for her not to understand. However, there are times where she was told to do something plainly, given advice multiple times, saw the same action as she had been warned about play out in front of her, and she did nothing.
Overall, I just couldn't find myself enjoying the characters. I was dedicated as the next to Naho and Kakeru's relationship, but Naho made the anime significantly less enjoyable.
Overall: 7/10
I wouldn't mark this as a bad anime. As a fan of shoujo anime, I find the boring high school days enjoyable, so that wasn't off-putting at all. However, this certainly would not be the first anime I would recommend to anyone. If you aren't a fan of shoujo anime, and you can't stand the boring repetitive days of school, this is certainly not the anime for you. Even with the serious topic of suicide added, it's still just people being annoyingly awkward to each other and classes. However, if you can stand the deep topic, an infuriating main character, and the repetitiveness of this type of anime, it's worth a watch, at least once.
