It's Dynasty Warriors Vikings.
The main appeal is the action. You watch the main characters butcher through British cannon fodder until they meet a fellow overpowered Dane and have their "boss fight" moment. Rinse and repeat.
Ethics are a relevant topic in the first couple of episodes, but it goes out the window very quickly. By the time you reach episode 6, the show's attempts to create moral complexity rather come across as humorous, like when watching a trash movie that tries to be "deep". The cast consists of a bunch of irredeemable murderers and rapists, who range from being dumber than a rock to mildly
...
intelligent.
Things become slightly more interesting once Canute becomes "a real character", but at that point the anime is almost over already and the shift happens so quickly that it's hard to care about Canute either way.
So if you just want to watch some Vikings pillage, plunder and fight, give it a try, but otherwise Vinland Saga is a waste of time.

Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song is a typical case of "all show and no substance".
Excellent art, sound, animation and action, but the writing prevents it from being better than just "good" or "okay".
The "time travel to save the world from an AI dystopia"-plot starts decent, but then falls into clichés and never gets back up again. Most of the journey from start to finish is pretty irrelevant. At some points there were emotional moments and twists that could have been used to turn the show into something amazing, but all chances were dropped. Here I think the writers either had too many different ideas and
...
tried to squeeze them all in, or they didn't have the courage to follow through with drastic changes to the show's atmosphere halfway throgh.
Worldbuilding is close to non-existent.
It is never explained why AIs have the abilities that they do. You never know how characters got from point A to point B. Locations are never explored and simply serve as stages for the plot. The show just doesn't have any spare screen time to explore its world.
The characters aren't good either.
Vivy gets introduced as a super expensive "songstress AI", who is simultaneously the "first autonomous humanoid AI" in the world. She was also given super strength and other abilities for no reason, yet nobody put her under any supervision.
She also talks and acts like any regular human character right from the get go, just like most of the AI characters, which I didn't find believable and made me question why they were made AI characters to begin with. Just for advanced physical abilities?
Character relationships don't really matter beyond Vivy and her sidekick Matsumoto.
Most characters don't do much beyond what they have to for the plot.
The pretty visuals make me I wish I could give this a better score, but it just can't compete.

Pluto is about artificial intelligence at its core and takes a rather unique approach on the topic.
The main character is the super-robot "Gesicht". Him being an AI doesn't really seem to matter at all at the start, besides the superpowers. Not what I expected at first, but ended up becoming relevant more and more over the course of the story.
The setting is a futuristic Europe, some years after it has won the "39th Central Asian War". Artificial intelligence is on a high level, widely accepted, and AIs have something along the lines of human rights as well.
Despite Gesicht being a Europol investigator, it is not
...
your usual murder mystery story. You have a handful of super overpowered war robots trying to figure out which other, even more overpowered entity is trying to kill them.
I'd say it is a solid premise, but not the manga's strength. The investigation drives the plot forward, but generally rather serves as setup for character exploration instead. 7/10 from me.
I primarily kept reading Pluto for the characters. I wanted to see how they handle their individual dilemmas. Emotions, or lack there of, robot PTSD, the unique aspects that make up the identity of a robot in the world of Pluto, how the AI minds handle manipulation, etc. It gets pretty abstract.
I'm giving it an 8/10 for characters. The only big downside in my eyes was Atom. Found him annoying and didn't like how much screentime he got.
The art is good, not much I can say about it. A few highlights here and there, but overall just clean and pragmatic. 7/10
In total, it is 7,7,8,8. I'm giving it an overall 8.

Another case of an anime that feels like it ended too early.
The weakest aspect is definitely the unfinished overarching plot, as well as the art and the animation.
There is a lot missing. Things that "should" have been explored, considering the premise and setup, but weren't. This is because the show ends at volume 5, while the manga is 15 volumes long.
The animation quality takes a nosedive sometimes, especially early on in season 2, like during car chase scenes. Season 2 also commits the sin of overusing flashbacks.
My guess is that the studio ran out of resources and/or time during production, so they cut
...
a lot of corners in the visual department and ultimately didn't finish the story.
The anime's strength is in the writing and character dynamics. You empathise with the characters, or at least want to know where the plot takes them.
Season 2 doesn't rush through character arcs as quickly as season 1, but still dedicates entire episodes to secondary characters or specific character developments. Season 2 also introduces a major villain, but tries very hard to make you not want to see the villain lose, similar to how season 1 focused on making everyone morally dubious or pitiful in some way.
Even if the anime sadly doesn't show you the full story, it definitely makes you want to know how it ends. If the goal was to make you want to read the manga, then it is a success I guess.
Overall, Gunslinger Girl season 2 is just more of the same. I rank both seasons with an overall 7, because they're definitely above average, just lacking in visual quality and story progression.
