As a massive fan of the mobile game this show is worse than disappointing; it is utterly abysmal.

Story-wise, the anime is an adaptation of the early chapters, of which the story isn't good, yet they managed to make the general writing and the pacing somehow even worse. The game's biggest strength is the lack of exposition dumps and that is just the opposite with this show. It dumbs down characters to explain (poorly thought out) tactics.

The opening and the ending are the only positive things about the show, and maybe the art style that is heavily inspired by Gunslinger Girl. The animation itself is average ... at best, but it has a lot, and I mean a lot of gun errors from M4's infamous "bull-pup" to even simple things as reversing the metal and the wood parts of a G43.

The sound design is easily the most offensively pathetic thing. One egregious example I can quickly think of was when any time G36 showed up, they would use stock AK sounds for the gun.

Overall, the show was directed and made by people who have never consumed any media with firearms before; be it video games or movies. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody, let alone a GFL fan.
