LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I love this series so much it's unreal. I'm insanely biased because Muv-Luv is like my favorite thing ever, but honestly what is the point of making a review if I have to be unbiased and "objective?"
But yeah, it's hilarious and great. It gives some great development to Akane and all the Muv-Luv cameos make me so happy. It's plot is a parody of like 5 things at once and I love it so much. Gohda is the ideal protagonist in my opinion, and I wish he was real so I could date him.
Even though it's mostly comedy, it has some
...
really deep parts in it as well.
This is a series I always come back to. It's one of my favorites ever.

I'm a die hard fan of this series and will love literally anything that comes from it. Because of that, I don't think there's an anime I will be more biased towards than this. But I love it either way.
There are so many great in-jokes and references for fans and it's adapted very well from the game itself. Nearly all of the major plot elements are here. It would have been nice if Miki and/or British showed up, but I'm content with seeing Rick and Shizuka in the opening of each episode.
I don't often rewatch anime, but I've rewatched this who knows how
...
many times and still love it to death.
God bless you Rance-Sama. <3
And if you've watched this anime and enjoyed it then play the games already they're one of the greatest things ever made.

What do you get if you have an action, comedy, and drama series based upon character development with a cast of 20 major characters, put into 13 episodes and 2 specials. Today's review is of Angel Beats, which is written by one of my favorite story writer teams, Key.
STORY-6/10
Angel Beats' story is all over the place. The pacing is waaaay too rushed, which is total contrast to their typical work. In most Key works the pacing is slow, yet steady, keeping you watching because of the amazing character interactions. Angel Beats does not have this type of pacing, which is a shame because I am
...
quite fond of their story structure. The concept of Angel Beats is quite original, but the original premise is thrown out the window changing the genres every couple of episodes. There's also the fact that the ending is rushed and convoluted, along with being inferior to Key's other works. But that's just a nitpick because Key has given me the best ending of any work ever, Air. I've never really felt the so-called "feels" from Angel Beats. It was sad, but there were only 3 moments that made me feel emotional, being Yui's, Yuri's, and Iwasawa's backstories. While there are some great character moments, they do not make up for the lacking character cast.
ART-9/10
Angel Beats is wonderful looking. The colors are bright and vivid and is pretty much just eye candy. For the movement, it's extremely fluid, with very few slip ups. My only problems are the fact that the backgrounds are very generic, and there are a few inconsistencies. But these are just nitpicks. Also, I personally prefer Itaru Hinoue over character designs over Na-Ga's character designs, but that's just my opinion.
SOUND-10/10
The music is by Jun Maeda, nothing much to say. The English voice acting is really good, but I can't picture Tenshi being voiced by anyone but Kana Hanazawa. The main stand out of the dub is Brittney Karbowski as Yuri Nakamura, who plays the role perfectly. The op and ed are also great, and i downloaded them right away.
CHARACTERS-7/10
The characters are exceedingly lacking and could be much better. The biggest problem is how many there are. As mentioned in the intro, there are 20 major characters. Which is a downfall because of the fact that it's way too large for the 13 episode length. There were very few characters that I care about. So I'll just go into the characters that are actually developed. Which even so, it's lacking compared to their other character casts.
First we have our protagonist Otanashi Yuzuru. He is pretty much the generic anime protagonist, a pretty big letdown compared to Tomoya, Yukito, and Yuiichi. He also has AMNESIA one of the most overused plot devices in any medium ever. Unfortunately, unlike The Kid from Ever17, he does no develop any type of personality.
(Edit from future Laura: Otonashi is pretty cool, so ignore what I said about him being generic and stuff here)
Next is Yuri Nakamura, affectionally known as Yurippe. And she's one of my favorite characters. Besides being a total badass, she's complex, beautiful, and REALLY hot. Sure, I have a thing for purple-haired bishoujos but I love Yurippe.
Then there's the mysterious Tenshi, or Angel. She's very quite and a model student, who the SSS seem to be trying to take down. Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of Kanade, and this is coming from someone who loves deadpan characters. You never learn about why she's so quiet and stand-offish. But she's likable enough to be a good love interest. Kanade's not a quirky and cute as Key's other heroines, which is a good change of pace.
Our final main character is Hinata Hideki, he's upbeat and really fun. He also has a great backstory.
Now I will go into the supporting characters I care about.
First off is the cold and sarcastic Naoi Ayato, who's my favorite character. Eri Shiina is cool but really likes cats kinda like me. Yusa is also really cool and speaks Engrish is I remember correctly. T.K. is just awesome. Manami Iwasawa has an absolutely amazing backstory. Finally, Yui is upbeat and my favorite female character.
Now here is a list of the characters I don't care about:
Takamatsu, Noda, Fujimaki, Matsushita, Oyama, Takeyama, Chaa, Hisako, Miyuki Irie, and Shiori Sekine.
ENJOYMENT-8/10
While it's exceedingly flawed, I found myself really enjoying Angel Beats. Even with all it's flaws, I do still recommend it, seeing how popular it is.
I award Angel Beats! with an overall score of a flat 8/10 and one hora!
Also, I will review the Angel Beats visual novel once it is released in full and translated.
Thanks for reading!
(Future Laura Edit 2: Honestly this anime is really great. Idk why I was so harsh on it before.)

Hello all you weebs! Here I am to review one of my favorite anime, Clannad. First things first, I will only be reviewing the 1st season, since After Story takes it's own direction, that will require it's own post to cover my thoughts.
STORY-8/10
Okazaki Tomoya's life is meaningless, and it seems like it will always be. Until, he meets a girl named Nagisa Furukawa. Tomoya befriends Nagisa, and they try to revive the school's drama club. Many other girls come into Tomoya's life, and he starts to become a much better person.
ART-9/10
Clannad looks really nice, especially when watched in HD. The best part of Clannad's visuals
...
is the color design. It's very bright and has lot of personality to it. The art style is very distinctive and the girls all look cute. As for the animation itself, it's Kyoto Animation nothing much to say.
SOUND-9/10
Clannad has one of the best anime soundtracks EVER! I have no complains whatsoever. As for the dub the Japanese is great, with every character fitting their role perfectly. But, the English dub is the reason I gave sound a 9 instead of a 10. The biggest problem with the dub is how they don't know how to pronounce Nagisa correctly.
CHARACTERS-10/10
In an anime, the characters are the most important part. I can say with certainty, that Clannad's best aspect is it's character cast. First up, we have Tomoya, the main protagonist. He is an amazing protagonist, and I fell in love with him the moment I first saw him. He's cynical and even somewhat stoic, but he truly cares for his friends. Personally, I believe Tomoya has influenced me personally. Nagisa Furukawa is the main love interest, and is also great. She's a very sickly girl, but still tries to get along with everyone. She seems to be the most normal of the cast, but that's not saying much, since she still has strange habits. Kyou and Ryou were the two characters I believe who got shafted in the story department. Don't get me wrong, I like them both, but they are the 2 heroins that don't get an arc. Luckily for them, there's an extra OVA titled "Clannad: After Story - Mou Hitotsu no Sekai, Kyou-hen" which goes into Kyou's story. Kyou is a HUGE tsundere, and Ryou is very cute and shy with very obvious feelings for Tomoya. Kotomi Ichinose is also very shy. While she seems like she would be a total airhead, based off her initial personality, Kotomi's actually very smart. Kotomi had my favorite arc, and she's my second favorite character. My favorite character, however, is Tomoyo Sakagami. She seems like a total ice queen at first, but is actually very nice, and pretty much perfect wife material. Last, but not least, is Fuuko Ibuki (btw her hair is green and I will slap the next person who says it is brown). Fuuko is very upbeat and energetic and wants everyone to come to her sister's wedding by passing out starfish. I can't say too much about her because that means spoiling one of the best parts of Clannad.
ENJOYMENT-9/10
I loved Clannad. It's one of the best anime I've ever seen. Being one of the best romantic drama ever.
OVERALL SCORE-9/10

School Days is one of the most controversial anime of all time. Some hate it, and some love it. What's my opinion on this work? Well let's take a look at School Days.
Story-9
The story of School Days is extremely interesting. Unlike most anime, it goes over problems that most wouldn't even dare to touch. But this is why many hate it. Unlike most harem anime, it does not focus on the happy parts of a relationship. School Days's uniqueness is what turns people away. Like most fans of this anime, I consider it a deconstruction of the harem genre.
Art-6
This is School Days's worst aspect. TNK
...
have never been the best at animation. But, School Days didn't really need great animation. But certain scenes have a good bit of fluidity. The character designs are good, but hard to tell apart.
Sound-9
The OST is AMAZING. My 3 favorite instruments are the piano, organ, and violin. I have the OST on my computer and listen to it quite a bit. But I have to give praise to the song Kanashi No Mukou He, which is one of my favorite songs. I can't judge the voice acting, because I don't personally speak Japanese. But it sounds nice.
Character-8
Our main character Makoto is probably the most hated anime character. While I didn't love Makoto, I found him to be a good protagonist. At least he has a personality.. And he also has remorse for all his actions. Kotonoha is the highlight of this anime. I feel really bad for her, and wish she had a better life. Sekai is also really good. While not as good as Kotonoha, she's still likable. There's also Setsuna. She is great with her conflict. I can't spoil it, but its also really emotional.
The supporting cast is ok. But the characters of Taisuke, Otome, and her clique are some of my least favorite anime characters. Otome is actually my least favorite anime character.
Enjoyment-10
I really did enjoy School Days. Despite its short coming, its really good. So, my overall score is a 9/10

Another is one of my personal favorite anime. It's easily one of the best horror anime, with a beautiful presentation and amazing story.
Story
Another's story is very creative. It was very hard to stop watching this show and I just wanted to watch all of it in one go. The story is so complex with many twists and turns. The story is the best part about this show. Which is great because it's one of the most important parts of an anime. Also the ending is amazing.
Art
Being animated by P.A. Works Another has a very nice color palette. The backgrounds are brightly lit and detailed. I'm
...
a sucker for vivid and colors and it really looks nice. The animation itself is very fluid and rarely looks bad. The character models are also very nice and each one also looks great.
Sound
I'm not very good at judging music, but it is very nice. The song "Mei Misaki Theme" is very eerie and nice. So much that I downloaded it. The op, by Ali Project, is also very awesome. It has a nice tune and represents the series's atmosphere perfectly. The ed, Annabel, is also soothing even if it doesn't really represent the series too well. I haven't really watched the English dub, but it's ok. I like the JP dub but that's mostly because of Mei's voice.
Character
There really are only 3 characters who matter. First is our main protagonist Sakikabara Kouichi. He's kinda genaric, but does have his health issues which makes him much more memorable, and soon makes him one of my favorite anime characters. Next is Mei Misaki. I love Mei waaaaaaay too much. She has amazing development and is such a cool character. She's another one of my favorite anime characters. Finally is Izumi Aizawa. She's another great character. I felt very bad for her and believe she didn't deserve anything she got.
Overall, I belive Another is one of the best anime around. If you haven't already checked it out please do so. It's available for legal streaming on Hulu and Crunchyroll. You can buy this series from Sentai Filmworks. Thank you for reading, I hope this review was helpful.
