It took close to two years to reach the end and I wanted to put a little something in here because it was worth the waiting. As I'm writing, I'm waiting for last chapter which I'm sure, will be a fair ending.
First, the plot was interesting. A young substitute teacher in need of money to live and to pay his sister's hospital few, becomes a hitman, partnering with a cop called Kuzumi. Reading this, it had to be interesting as soon as a cop is involved because sooner or later, the cat will be out of the bag and it will be bad.
Where the manga
...
gets great is when seeing the psychological evolution of the main character Shiki. As you all guessed, at first it is hard, then killing is a little more common and then it is regret (because he is still a good guy), imagining dead people everywhere we go. To add up with this, cops will be meddling with their business.
The manga is a centered around this teacher character but we have focus, in some chapters, on co-characters which are interesting too because each one has his own connection with Shiki and his own way to live with it.
What I liked about the story was its real aspect. We are not in an easy-going, unrealistic manga where everything's fine and happy ending, children, etc. The writer is fair by staying on the right tracks, delivering an interesting, realistic plot.
With this story, we have cool art, nothing astonishing but enough to have an easy reading.
Though it took some time (Ok, you'll tell me that some mangas last forever before getting a new chapter), without being insanely deep, I enjoyed reading this story and hope you'll appreciate this review written in so-so English.

At first I was just watching this for the achievement on Malgraph and because a friend told me to try. I was perfectly conscious about what I was going to go through. Mixed feelings, awkward moments, cursing myself to be crazy enough to continue watching, hating my life.
And indeed, I quickly went through all those steps.
At first, it was curiosity. Then after 3 minutes (this strange opening passed), it felt just wrong and I had to use all my will to prevent myself from piercing my eyes.
Basically, it is the story of a man which is asked (we don’t know why so suddenly)
...
to befriend with a girlish young boy which dresses up like a girl...
My grandpa, is asking a total stranger to take care of me. Dammit what's wrong with this line?!
And then, their relationship grows at the speed of light having sex and stuff together. Everything's fine. There it is: nothing more, nothing less. Nothing is interesting about the characters, we learn nothing about them except the size of their junk.
What would have made it more enjoyable (if it was possible), would have been art and music to add some non-existant emotion, but on both sides, it was bad.
The worst thing in it, was that this OAV is so absurd that it becomes laughable.

Chrome Shelled Regios is one of those animes that I watched without real interest. The art is good, animation is fluid, this point is ok.
The main thing I disliked about it, was that it was too centered around the main character. Layfon is strong, Layfon appears when others are in danger, Layfon beats everyone. Close to every women character are blushing when seeing him, even if there is no romance. Even the cold one ends up being all over the hero. The other characters feel like they were added just to have some kind of background but there's no real work on them.
During 24 episodes
...
the story isn't fantastic, nothing that surprises us suddenly, well they played the safe card. In the end, many questions are unanswered. It seems that no second season will be released so they will stay as it is. Sad because a lot of ideas were present. For example, all those Heaven's Blade Wielders, we get to see them in the two or three last episodes, some of them for just a sec, disapointing.
To sum up, the anime is classic, I didn't really enjoy it but still, it was watchable enough so I went till the end to see if it gets better. Don't expect incredible storyline, just a common anime in the overall sea of animes.
