Even tho it was fun to watch because it offered plenty of humorous moments that lightened the mood, I have mixed feelings about it.
First, I guess the anime could have a bit more action moments.
Second, an important question that I always bring up about this anime is: how, just how, Kensuke and Asaya have a relationship that is way more funnier, loving, and normal, compared to the real world we live in, compared to Masahiro and Kousuke? The second plot love story is what made me finish the anime XD

I like that all characters have what we could call "normal looks".
The anime doesn't take itself too seriously. It offers a heartwarming romance between the characters, and the love relationship grows at a normal velocity, just like in the real world (it takes time). in Gakuen Heaven, the concept is not too complex. Their comedy and jokes are funny, and the tension between the protagonists is great. Other two points that are also appealing in the anime are the visuals (and old style of animation, in my view) and it also shows a welcoming school environment, instead of a toxic one. This movie will change you. It is subtle and emotional. They avoid unnecessary drama or explicit scenes, instead, they focus on the subtle nuances of their emotions and the unspoken tension between them.
It was not predictable, even tho the synopsis gives a bit of context, it does not prepare us for the beauty that is hidden. THE ANIMATION AAAAAAAAAA, is so delicate. It captures the atmosphere of the anime just right and gives us a sensation of reality that we are not habituated. The characters are not perfect, which brings us to the reality of what is to be a human being, with flaws and also confusion ... |
