Hey folks, this will be my review for Jijou wo Shiranai Tenkousei ga Guigui Kuru. It's so darn sweet and adorable that you will need to visit the dentist afterwords.
The show is simple. A girl named Akane gets bullied by the kids in her school. They call her the grim reaper, and constantly pick on her for even the dumbest stuff. However one day a transfer student named Taiyou shows up and befriends her and turns that moniker into a positive thing. Taiyou is a lovable idiot, and he seems to think that all the grim reaper stuff is true, but instead of shunning
...
Akane he tries to get closer to her to get more of her power. His stupidity is offset by his honesty and forthrightness. So a typical episode will be the other kids saying something mean, Taiyou comes in to turn it into something positive, and then Akane being embarrassed by the ridiculousness of what he said.
Honestly not much needs to be said. This is a little slice of life show about elementary school kids. The romance is an undertone that we can see, and that Akane has to wonder at, but since they are so young it's really just a show about kids being cute. If you don't like slice of life anime this probably wont be for you. I loved the show, but I can also admit that the show might have been a bit longer than necessary. A setup like this would have been awesome for shorts, though I am glad they had full episodes. Most of the humor is distributed through how ridiculously complimentary Taiyou is, and I can see how someone might get bored of it before they finish. I think my only other criticism would be that they didn't end with a quick scene where Akane and Taiyou are entering or leaving high school and holding hands. I cant imagine this show getting a second season, something like that would have been a nice way to end it. Especially when they named the last episode ten years later, bastards. Give it a go if your alright with slice of life shows, or if you need a palette cleanser between something serious.

Hey folks, this will be my review for Mashle. It's pretty good.
The story revolves around a guy named Mash who cant do magic. This is a problem because magic is everything in this society. So much so that those who are not marked(cant do magic) are killed. One day Mash is discovered and given a choice, either run and be hunted for his entire life, or attend a magic school and become a Divine Visionary. Divine Visionary's are like the leaders of the magical world and can change how society functions.
I think the story starts off really well, it has plenty of comedy
...
and you still don't have a grasp on Mash yet so its fun to see how he handles situations. Unfortunately I found the later episodes began to drag. This show is a shonen so we inevitably have all the annoying shonen tropes like battles taking entire episodes because during the fight we need to view a characters entire moral compass and hear their tragic backstory which excuses their blatant evil schemes and flawed logic. I knocked a few points off for that because Mash is beyond overpowered. There is no build up in this show where we see him lose, or tense moments where we wonder what is the cap to his power. We only see him refuse to take action...or win handily. This makes the final few fights really drag, that's also excluding the handful of side characters who insist on taking the stage and dragging things out further.
The show does so much well though that I think if this is your thing you should give it a try. The setting and world seems to be its own thing but there are clear spoofs of Harry Potter sprinkled throughout, along with a few other bits of media. The art is great, the fight scenes are well animated, the emotions evident on peoples faces, and even the moment to moment shots are great. The battle music stands out, though its not normally my type of music it always pumps up a fight scene. The characters are fun and Mash is great. He is over powered but he is an idiot so it kinda balances things out. The morality stuff isn't crammed down our throats, and Mash is good enough to simply have his opinion and fight for what he believes is right without dragging us into the mix. It's all interesting topics too, like how we look at one another as humans, and rank ourselves in a society. Still you cant completely ignore all of that and enjoy the experience which I appreciate. I'm really looking forward to the second season. We are teased with some new problems that I am interested to see how Mash and gang overcome. If you like any of these themes, or the description sounds appealing I think you should give this show a shot.

Hey folks, this will be my review for Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha. I didn't like it. I would rather rate an anime as its own thing, but sometimes the comparison fits too well. This show is a bootleg Yahari Ore with a tsundere romance twist.
The story revolves around Sajou and his obsessive crush on Aika. The show starts with Sajou realizing he is being weird and distancing himself so he doesn't bother Aika anymore, and eventually Aika realizing she rather liked Sajou and feeling lonely now that he wasn't always chasing after her. Over the course of the show Sajou makes new acquaintances who
...
are all women that have zero impact on the story. These acquaintances all are used to show how Sajou isn't actually a weirdo and actually has his heart in the right place. The synopsis states that "Aika starts approaching him in unusually suggestive ways", buts she does not. Aika usually seems disgruntled that he isn't stalking her anymore then simply leaves him alone. On a few occasions they interact and Saijou almost always falls apart at the seams as he is still attracted to Aika.
To put it simply the show is kind of gross. Well maybe that's too harsh. Unrequited love is a thing and so is loneliness and confusion. What I can say for sure is that the romance plot of the show is not at all cute. Tsunderes are annoying in general in my opinion, but ones that constantly, even until the final moments, bring up the fact that your a weirdo stalker is too much. That isn't to say I'm taking Saijou's side, being an obnoxious stalker is also too much, but at least we get to see who Saijou is as a person. This show feels less like entertainment and more like a forced lesson on toxic relationships. I will however give credit where it is due. Aside from some lighthearted ribbing neither Sajou or Aika was punished or hurt because of this "misunderstanding" that had cropped up between them. It might not have been clinically healthy, but this show could have really dissolved into really gross themes. A few snippets of background conversation actually address some of those possibilities but thankfully they kept everything lighthearted.
Aside from the main plot premise we have these other women who show up, all of whom are completely pointless. Pointless again might be too harsh, they seem to exist for the express purpose of showing Aika that Sajou has options. These new women are the reason I called this show bootleg Yahari Ore. When Sajou is not stalking Aika he is somehow dragged into other peoples personal lives where he at the right time dispenses wisdom and understanding. This is how he connects to each new girl, helping them with some sort of problem. Most of the time this comes out as serious and we should all be learning a lesson from Sajou, but to me it always seemed nonsensical. It wanted that feeling of being emotional and interesting, but didn't put in the effort. It's sort of like when someone learns a new word and tries to wedge it into the conversation to make themselves seem smart. They understood that these moments can really heighten a scene and draw characters together, but they didn't know how to actually do it.
Overall the show was exceptionally strange and not at all entertaining to me. I didn't like following Sajou around, nor did I really want to know more about Aika. The top positive review at the time suggested that Sajou handled Aika well by ignoring her which was enough to make me stop reading the review and simply watch it, but that was not what I watched. If it was a show revolving around turning unrequited love into a normal relationship it might have actually been interesting. Unfortunately as it stands I would give this one a miss unless this is your specific theme interest.

Hey folks, this will be my review for Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru. The short review is that is wasn't bad, however it has some flaws that make it a bit dull.
I first want to say the show isn't terrible if you simply like watching two people fall in love. However it lacks any sort of meaningful relationship building that I have a hard time recommending it if your not simply here to fill up your love tank. Video games, specifically Forest of Savior, is the glue that brings our Female mc(Akane), and our male mc(Akito) together. The problem is that the game
...
doesn't matter, nothing in the show matters. It's strange because the flavor of the show seems to be added as an afterthought. It feels like someone sat down and tried to think about how to bring two of their OC's together rather than having a story that was fully functional.
The game world has zero impact on the story outside of the fact that its where all these people met. The game is barely covered or discussed. We have no idea how the game works, how the guild operates, what the game play is like. That sounds stupid to complain about, but that's the entire show. Akito is a pro gamer. He plays FPS games apparently and is sponsored. There is like one minute total where this matters. In one scene we get Akane wondering if she should look him up and then deciding not to, and another where he is going to practice and then doesn't, that's it. The fact that he is a pro gamer doesn't matter other than for a couple jokes about how guys like video games, and how Akane is weird for wanting to play games rather than go on group dates. Akito isn't even weird because of video games, he has a reason for being the way he is and its not at all related to gaming. So why is it in the story to begin with? So much of the story is that way. Why do we have two romantic rivals when your going to do nothing with them? Why does the female supporting character Momoko exist other than to crack the group dating joke? Literally the entire plot could have been re arranged. "Akane was just dumped by her police officer boyfriend and decided to go to the servicemen banquet where she met a fireman who pretended to be her boyfriend so she could save face." It would play out the same.
The description goes on to say that each of them go on to notice each others inner qualities. What? Very little happens in the show. Akane realizes that he's hot but also nice. Akito also finds out that Akane is nice...I guess. There is only one meaningful interaction with one of the other love interests, but outside of that shes constantly causing him problems. That's fine, I think Akane is a lovely girl, but there isn't an moment in the show where they fall in love. There is no reason to believe these characters will get together because they never interact. There is no purpose to the things they do. She never gets that moment of falling down the stairs, being caught in his strong arms, and realizing how much she has come to depend on him. He never gets that moment of feeling alone and empty without her while she goes off to college or goes on a group date...etc. There are no relationship building moments. Just glimpses into forced interactions where the entire romance seems to exist just because the creator says it does. If you were to watch Full Metal Panic you would be able to see the moments where they fall in love and it makes sense. You watch Nozaki-kun you will see the moments where they fall in love and again it makes sense. This show has none of that. Unfortunately it has none of the charm those shows have either. Why is Akito taciturn if it's never going to serve a purpose, or be a roadblock to the relationship? Why are these people not bonding over the game and having high jinks that only a game can have when they laid it out to be the bonding agent between the characters. The characters in Nozaki come together through manga, and even in the non manga episodes it still is the main theme. There is a moment later in the story where Akito is asked about Akane and in his mind he replays through his interactions and its funny how quick that section ends. I think we are supposed to see that hes been slowly falling in love with her, or that he remembers these moments as moments that he felt affection for her, but there's like three slides. By the end of the show I wasn't even sure I knew who they were or what they wanted. I wasn't rooting for them to get together because none of it felt like it mattered.
Quick side note about the art. It looks great 99% of the times. I don't know what the style would be called, but I have taken to calling it dream like. Very colorful and filled with junk like bubbles and flowers. However this style is horrid when it comes to lips. Whenever the lips become prominent it always turns the characters into blobfish.
Overall the anime wasn't bad. The last episode or two was a real knockout because we get to see some action, but honestly the rest of the show felt like a waste. Each episode felt like a box to tick rather than a story being told. Each character felt like they had a singular role to play, rather than a person who was involved in the story. The entire show felt superficial. No amount of pretty art can make up for the fact the show could literally exist in any universe, with any set of characters, premises, and other various variables.

Hey folks, this will be my review for Benriya Saitou-san, Isekai ni Iku. It's a really solid show that surprised me a little.
The first four or so episodes contain a series of shorts that follow the main character and his party and a few other side characters to introduce them and the world. I actually rather liked that bit of the show and was disappointed that eventually the episodes became full episodes that had a plot and purpose. The plot as it unfolded actually had a lot of well written moments in them, and though the show is incredibly silly and low stakes for
...
the most part, the drama that unfolds brings with it investment that you would otherwise not get in a more slice of life type of show that it originally seemed to be. Still since the show seems to want to be cozy and slice of life it never treads too far and we get a nice blending of both worlds that isn't often done in my opinion. Anime has a habit of leaning too far into the themes it wishes to portray and often when drama is added to a comedy show its just a gut punch for no reason. This shows writing however was well crafted and I think without the more serious moments we wouldn't come to appreciate the characters as we have.
Speaking of characters I think the cast were genuinely likeable, even the mc. I do wish we had more time with them. Morlock I feel like stole the show, but honestly each of the characters have an interesting premise that could have been expanded upon. Raelza and her tragic upbringing, Lafanpan with her curse...etc. Still what we do get is done well. I like that the plots finish, and for those of you who like romance we have a pairing that completes itself without too much drama or feigned ignorance.
Overall the show is pretty damn good. I think there was some fatty bits to the show with some side characters I didn't give a crap about. I liked the premises and the main characters enough that I would trade half the cast for a more focused story with just them. That's the main reason I rated it a seven. I think if you want something comfy this might do it for you. It's not the best iteration of the isekai, but I think its a decent watch regardless. It's got comedy, a bit of drama, some blood, some love...its really a decently packaged experience.

Hey folks! This will be my review of the second season of Kage no Jitsuryokusha. We have achieved partial release. This season was shorter than the first, though very much the same. Shit happens for no reason and we are simply dragged along for the ride. I was prepared to write show off as a bad job until the last episode. Certain events come to a close, we get some answers, and cap it all off with a major twist.
Odds are if you liked the first season, you will like this one too. If you didn't like the first season, you wont like this one
...
either, though the last episode may tickle your interest as it has done for me. Overall the show doesn't suck, nor is it good. Mixed feelings feels like such a cop out, but this one really is a head scratcher. I am truly surprised by the overall ranking of the show, its hard to justify a high 8, at least that's where it stands at the time of writing this review. This show is not a fresh take on the old formula, nor is it a well done example of something we already have. It is not overtly comedic, though it dips its fingers into the absurd, nor is it dramatic, though it shocks you with death and tragedy. This show simply exists in an in between state, both good and bad. I cannot tell you who will like it, or if you should watch it. This show is its own thing, and only you can decide if that's something you will value. I did not.

Hey folks, this will be my review for Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute. Not bad, not great.
The story is a slippery devil. Is it a hero show? Or perhaps a power fantasy isekai? I don't really know at the end of the day. I have some guesses, but overall that's all you can really do is guess. Our MC Cid Kagenou trains hard and all the time so that he might fight injustice from the shadows. Initially he has some success as a low tier trash man, removing bandits and thugs. However his dreams, training, and ambition eventually net him a butt-load of power and
...
influence that he now uses to fight real global threats like the Cult of Diablos. Unfortunately that's where some of the confusion begins. Cid seems to believe that he made the Cult of Diablos up in order to sound cool, meanwhile they do in fact exist and his words have spawned a shadow organization whose sole purpose seems to be to fight them.
Honestly this show seems to be solid, but I cant tell if someones yanking my chain. A chuuni MC with incredible powers and story akin to irregular at magic high, and stupidity akin to Ainz from Overlord. The frustrating part of the experience for me is there is no follow through. Our MC has a harem, I guess? Yet he doesn't interact with them. He becomes popular at school based on dumb luck, and after an episode or two the plot moves forward and we are supposed to just assume that his "mob characteristic" are the leading factor that these people seem to forget that he exists. Some characters seem to become main characters, and others that seem important simply disappear. The dude has a sister that simply vanishes for most of the first season even though she likes her brother and they go to the same school. Normally that might seem problematic, but the writing is well crafted enough that my guess is that the story will bring itself around and we will see everything in the end.
Art isn't bad. Fight scenes are basic and a little lack luster, but there are some sharp visuals for the rest of the show.
The characters are all interesting just by how the story is being told. Our MC is an overpowered protagonist but he refuses to be that. So we get to see him mess with the world and drag the other characters into the messes that would normally take the highlight. The tough and crazy strong princess character is going to compete in a fighting tournament, but of course our perspective will follow Cid...I wonder whats going to happen. In a way I find this frustrating as the overpower protagonist is supposed to move the plot forward and skip all the usual drivel of "I need to train", or "with the power of friendship". Unfortunately we trade that tripe for him telling us how hes going to pretend to be a background character. It's funny, but slow and frustrating when interesting stuff is happening all the time. The anime is bloody and twisty, it makes you want to see what happens next. I guess I was just disappointed with the how it was handled. We need answers, we need these characters to show us who they are, we need some connection to the story. In Overlord when Ainz fights it is a battle that we can understand the value of. We see the plans forming, the mistakes hes making. In this show we simply go from one event to the next with very little to explain what the hell we just saw and why it happened. I don't know who these characters are, who they want to be, what there connection is to the story, what the story is even about, whats happening in the world, or what these characters do in the world. I just watched 20 episodes, I was conscious the entire time, wtf happened?
Overall the anime was interesting, but it really needs to drop the bass. We are being edged with action and situations but we are no nearer the sweet release of understanding. I certainly hope the second season will be more enlightening. If however the show continues in the same vein I'm afraid its a bit of a dud. Overlord, Irregular at magic high, and dozens of those dollar store isekai do this but better.

Hey folks, this will be my review for Yuusha ga Shinda. Simply put it's not very good. It is however a semi funny little time waster.
I think we can skip over the paragraphs of text I usually put in and focus in on the tagged theme "Parody". I have no idea if the original creator purposefully made this shitty to parody the other shows they view as absurd, or it is just a shitty show/manga. There is a lot we can unpack and digest but it doesn't deserve that, so Ill summarize quickly. The story isn't half bad if you're just there for entertainment,
...
but it also constantly stops to fill you in on the tons of information we miss off screen. This includes powers, plans, traps...etc. The art is simply muddy and not at all interesting. Whether its a fight scene or one of the numerous ecchi scenes we are treated to less than pleasant art and animation. The characters again are somewhat interesting, or they could be if anything was done with them. Touka and Yuna are the only ones with any growth at all and its pathetic. It's one of the first shows I ever thought to turn on 1.5 speed for and I think it was the right thing to do.
Pathetic is actually a great word for this show in general. Some of you may wish to analyze whether or not this show is an actual pile of crap, or if its just a convincing replica, I however don't care. I knew this show wasn't going to be a masterpiece and I simply wanted to be entertained and it did alright in that regard. If your looking for anything remotely resembling quality I wouldn't in good conscience recommend this to you, however if your self aware enough not to take yourself seriously and know that this is your kind of thing you might get a laugh or two. I'm not sure I would want to watch it again, but I would watch a season two, which they do hint at. This show is premium "It sucks, but I liked it". This was not "so bad it was good", you need to be aware of the difference. This show is bad, and for some reason I had a good time, you may not.

Hey folks, this will be a review for Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi. I think we can keep this short and sweet.
Its just as bad of a hentai as an anime. That's it, if your horny watch a hentai. If your here for a dark hero story then go watch shield hero.
Extra if you happen to care:
Dark and gritty does not give you a free pass into the realm of goodness. Rape, rape, and some murder and drug abuse and more rape. Certainly very dark and shows the undesirable side of humanity and certainly would be at least plausible to happen if that world existed. However
...
there is no substance.
This guy wants revenge and through using his specific brand of magic which seems to do a lot of things that shouldn't be simply labeled healing is able to restart the world and regain his memories through a fairy spirit. Then he decides to do his life over again allowing terrible things to happen to him again with the goal of overcoming them faster and getting his revenge.
His revenge comes in the form of torture and rape. As revenge go its probably on the track to be well done I suppose. I can even understand the wish for revenge and see his train of though somewhat. Seems a waste to wipe her memory through healing again somehow though but who am I to judge his revenge. However after his initial revenge it becomes a traveling story where a new girl comes in every other episode and becomes another pleasure toy for the main character with practically no reason to exist. So you might say its a hentai and that you can enjoy it that way. However its not directed in a way to allow for it to be enjoyed in that light either. I mean sure it can tent some trousers but that's about the best it can do.
In total it fails at both things and simply is not worth the watch. The hate hype train was pointless as simply ignoring it probably would have relegated it to the bottom of the barrel where it would normally come to rest without stirring up outrage. I wonder why so many shows feel like the writer would rather be doing porn(looking at you goblin slayer - which at least to me was worth a watch once)

Hey folks, this will be a review for Isekai Maou. This show was a stinker to put plainly. It seems common to equate it to Overlord but that does Overlord such a disservice. I'm going to rail on this show pretty hard but overall if you want a fantasy story similar to Overlord to scratch that itch then its worth a watch. As a standalone show however it falls short in so many ways.
The story starts off with a gamer shut in transported to this new world. He keeps the items he had in the game, one item is a ring of spell reflection. This
...
earns him the busty elf and small chested cat girl as his slaves. Now he must learn about the world, carefully integrate into society, and earn his place. Or so you would think. He just walks into town, shouting at people that he is the demon lord and internally agonizing over everything for the majority of the show.
The world never really gets built we are just told of things as they become important until they are no longer important. It's like its rushed or was written in a bulleted list format then transformed into an anime. We don't get time to know anything which is weird because there are some major events that happen in this anime and none of it is ever discussed or brought up again.
I'm not really sure I liked the MC. He is incredibly strong, takes on the role of a demon lord, yet acts like a child the entire time. Admittedly they explain this by saying he never was able to fit into society but after the third kidnapping incident I was becoming a little annoyed with his writing. His spells really only get cast once, leaving the later drama feeling stupid as the viewers know the powers he has.
The side characters are only there for the fan service. Occasionally getting naked, or fingered(I'm serious), or simply watching from the sidelines shouting encouragement. I like fan service and ecchi scenes, however it is boring to watch in this show.
The art was rather tame, looks like anime from a few years ago. The fight scenes are rather short and overwhelming in color so they didn't need to go all out on those either.
Overall I enjoyed the show at first but it became more and more painful to watch as the show went on. I know very little about the characters, their goals, the world, or even the powers. It was highly underwhelming all around.
