I loved the plot and the animation itself is great, got lots of violence and humor too. It's the terrible storytelling and characters along with the dub and sub which spoiled the experience.
The setting is a medieval fantasy world with elves, dwarves, orcs, humans, and dragons. There is a war going on between the humans and the rest of the species. The twist is famous personalities with military background from earth are transferred there after their death, these guys are called Drifters. It's interesting to see how these famous people change the world around them with life-giving them a second chance. Facing them are
...
Ends, these again seem to be famous personalities but ones who died a painful death. The ends also have mystical powers to supplement their personality.
My complaint with the anime is the focus on Japanese personality which the people outside Japan won't know about. The ones known the world over like Hannibal and Joan of Arc are given weird personalities. I would have loved it if they would have pitted a Hannibal vs Rommel. These unknown famous guys from Japan just don't hold the interest for me.
The Eng dub for the anime was missing for most of the episodes so I had to shift to sub, even that use to skip out on 2-3 minutes of gag scenes.

Sekirei can kind of be summed up with "Highlander with Fan Service". However, that really wouldn't do it justice, since it's so much more than a typical harem or another "There Can Be Only One" story. It centers around Minato Sahashi who, after having a beautiful girl LITERALLY fall into his life, discover that he is an Ashikabi, the destined partner of this girl and others like her known as Sekirei.
Minato himself is the best male lead for a harem anime you could ask for. While being physically weak and having a tendency to crumple under pressure, he is very likable and doesn't fall to
...
the harem trope of being a lecherous pervert or a namby pamby with a deus ex machina on stand by. He does eventually become an selfless hero who puts his girls first and himself second (yeah, I know, that's a tired harem cliché of the weak male protagonist archtype), however this change is only introduced during the second season. And, believe me, it's given a very legitimate reason for happening.
The harem girls have diverse characters that allow for a balanced mix of comedy and drama, and they're really what makes the show work as well as it does. The writers seem to know just which dramatic moments between them to kill with comedy and which ones to let play out, resulting in a tone reminiscent of Glen Murakami's Teen Titans cartoon. Each member of the harem has a different kind of relationship with the hero and with each other, so they all feel like real people. These are not things you say about a dumb fan-service show, this was clearly something that someone put a lot of thought and care into crafting.
What sets Sekirei above most other harem anime is how it goes out of its way to trample nearly every harem cliché that people like me are sick of. There's an actual villain this time around who by all means I should hate but for some reason can't stay mad at whenever he's on screen. There's no perverted male lead to facilitate fan service, nor any contrived high school scenario. In fact, they kick THAT cliché in the happy sack from the get-go. None of the Sekirei are one-note nor are any of the other characters, with the exception of some of the lesser mentioned.
The other thing that separates Sekirei from other harem anime is its maturity. The show always find diegetic reasons for fan service and never has the main character cop a feel for no reason. The fan service is never the focus of a scene, the focus is always on fun character interaction or moving the story forward. And the one time Minato DOES accidentally cop a feel, the show uses it as a rather unique plot point dealing with a character's dual-identity. "Grabbing a woman's breast leads to a revelation about their identity and the psychological crisis they are currently having." How many shows can you say THAT about? It sounds so stupid on paper, and yet in execution it's not. That's this show in a nutshell, come to think of it.
On that note, I'm sure you've probably started asking questions about the credibility of the show's "destined romantic partner" thing. That idea that these girls are bound to whomever wins a genetic lottery regardless of character or moral fiber. Well, the show addresses that. Yeah, in Season 2 there's an episode that points out just how f**ked up an Ashikabi can be and what a sickening relationship it leads to. How many other shows do you know of that do that? How often has a show deconstructed its own premise like that? I certainly can't think of any that do. And said confrontation ends not with any kind of moral analysis or deep philosophical comment on the matter, it ends with a simple statement of, "This is why Minato is our main man: because he's a big damn hero with a big damn heart who always tries to do the right thing no matter what." It's just so refreshing to see that kind of attitude in a meek and vulnerable character like Minato instead of a powerhouse like Goku or Superman.
Don't be fooled by this show's appearances on the surface. This is one the smartest, best-paced, best-written shows I've ever seen, harem or action or animated or otherwise. It directs all of its elements and resources towards engaging and entertaining the audience, and it never resorts to cheap anime gimmicks to do so. While the show isn't flawless as there are one or two scenes that I feel go on a bit too long for where they take the story, I still have no qualms about calling this my all-time favorite anime, beating out such acclaimed series like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun and Fullmetal Alchemist.
Why? Because I am a huge sucker for shows featuring multiple kick- ass lady protagonists living under one roof, which this show is entirely responsible for doing to me. I've watched it four times already and am not even close to getting sick of it. Just for context, I watch most anime once and then never go back to them, even those other three I mentioned, far more than any of the bad harem shows I've seen. I think that says something about the appeal of Sekirei. Watch it, analyze it, love it. It's THAT awesome.

The first few episodes of this show were ecchi comedy gold.
It started up a really solid dynamic where the leading male is an unapologetic pervert and the back and forth with his 'childhood friend' was perfect. Ep 2's ending song video is worthy of a classic.
But after a while, the episodes stopped being anywhere near as imaginative. It was still decent ecchi entertainment, but just nowhere near as inspired.
Definitely watch this if you're an ecchi fan, and plow right into the OVA and season 2. I didn't bother with the movie, though. Heard some bad things about it.

High school DXD is one of the best anime has a great story line as well as with some great characters. It is an anime with a lot of nudity and boobs but it clearly doesn't mean that it lack in content.Issei the protagonist of the show is one of the most hilarious character. He can make u laugh even in the most intense scenes you can think of.The show is somewhat related to mythology as well as it's about the three factions present in the world the devil's,fallen angels and Angels.
The reason this show is loved by so many people is cause it attracts people in
...
masses. If you are looking for a romantic show or with a lot of actions or a show with mythology or looking for a show with lot of humor.you will love this show.its also ranked as the most perverted show on the Top Tens website.Doesn't it makes the show sound more awesome. I started watching this just because my friend recommend it to me .And I was like if it's a harem anime it will just just have nudity and no story at all.But I have to accept I still thank him for recommending this show to me.I literally got hooked from the first episode and couldn't stop myself until I didn't finish all the 3 seasons.I have become an absolute fan of this show.Everyday I search about the official announcement of season 4 of this show.I will always be eagerly waiting for the new season.I really can't understand how this show can even lose its popularity. Guyz if you like the show make sure u rate it the best on IMDb to force the producers of this show to make a new season as soon as possible.I guarantee this show won't make u bore even a bit at any moment .

I got into Darker Than Black because of its creators- Tensai Okamura has made some real nice works before, notably Wolf's Rain. In that series, he also worked with Yoko Kanno, the composer of some of the best soundtracks I have heard in my life, most importantly Cowboy Bebop. However, this series isn't as good as those mentioned earlier, but it is still good.
The problem with DTB is that it starts bad. It's just confusing, we don't know what's going on and we don't know the characters, so it's hard to care about them. Not only that- what I expected that would save the series,
...
the music (I believe that music is as fundamental as anything else) wasn't that great either. Kanno's music just didn't stand out, and even the opening and closing themes weren't hers.
However, if you have patience, there's a point where we get to know the characters. Some story arcs get really interesting and when a episode ends, you will want to see the other to know what is going to happen. And it gets fun and turns out to be a nice experience. However, I would only recommend it to anime fans- not the general public. There's still a lot more series in the same vein of DTB that are much better and you should see them before this one.

This anime is great and i like main hero,if you want long running anime this one is great and funny and if you like long running stories then you must watch. I recommend you to watch this anime once you will become fan.
I wonder why its rating is so low. It should be 8.5 plus. Its not a copy of Naruto. Based on very different theme ie magic, a world where magic is everything and a guy named asta has none and all he has is his hard work towards achieving his goal.
It's undoubtedly one of the best anime I've watched. I loved every
...
bit of it. The characters, the art, the story, the song, etc. Just give it a go and you'll know what I'm trying to jot down. Asta, the main protagonist kinda reminds me of Naruto Uzumaki. Not to forget, that this anime is quite similar to Naruto and I'd even go as far as to say that it's better than Naruto in many aspects. I've completed watching the season 1 and urging for more, hope it gets out soon. The dub is pretty well. The story gets better and better, so the more you watch, the more you get glued to it!

It covers both Season 1 and Season 2.
Another surprising tv series from japan and this is a goodie. It grabs you from episode one and for the bulk of season one you are always wanted to find out what happens. The character development is good, so you begin to care for the princess and the various JSDF troops involved. The only issue is by season two it becomes a bit too predictable, as well as have a number of good characters missing. Apart from that there are a number of simple things which could be done to put the tension back into the show, but
...
as of now there is no season 3. SEason 1 and 2 are well worth a watch. Parents will need to be careful letting their children watch as this show, like many from japan, deals with very adult and confronting topics. But there is no fan based content here, so nothing too naughty.

--Additional information-- The King's Avatar (Quan Zhi Gao Shou, Full-Time Expert, Master of Skills) is a Chinese web novel, which centers on eSports. Witten by Butterfly Blue, the novel was published on Qidian Zhongwen Wang website between February 28, 2011 and April 30, 2014. It also received the title 'Best Work' in 2013. Another fact worth mentioning is that there are 1728 chapters in the novel.
--Story-line-- The King's Avatar tells the viewer a story of Ye Xiu, who is a professional player in the online MMORPG game called 'Glory.' Glory is a well-balanced game, where the only thing that really matters is the players' skill;
...
the game offers fighting against both other players and NPC enemies. Ye Xiu, also known as the 'Battle God,' is the player that every Glory player knows about, he is a legend, an idol; many people will do everything only to shake his hand. However, when you reach great heights, there will surely be people, who will do everything, even sell their soul to the Devil, only to see you fall. And Ye Xiu life is not an exception. Ye Xiu's friends, colleague, and teammates make him give up on his career as one of the most successful competitive player of Glory.
Ye Xiu now has neither his team, nor the sponsor, nor his life's goal. He finds work at nearby café, where many staff members admire Ye Xiu, but no one really knows his true identity. After a little while, Glory opens its 10 server, and Ye Xiu decides one more time to throw himself into the game. He now has to make a new character and form a new team. Together with his new friends, Ye Xiu one more time decides to dedicate himself to the game in order to become top one Glory player and return his title of 'the best.'
It is very surprising that no anime has ever dared to make an eSports series. However, we do have more than enough these '...and he realizes that he cannot log out anymore' anime. While some titles are still able to make this kind of setting interesting, many simply cannot do that and ruin themselves with fan service and other overused cliché. That being said, the eSports aspect makes this series unique. But it is, of course, not the only positive side of this series; the anime's story-line is able to provide the viewer with enough information about the protagonist of the series-Ye Xiu and it manages to do it that it is never boring for the viewer.
--Art/sound-- This anime has some awesome animation: all characters look different, all characters have a very unique and beautiful design, action scenes are simply mind-blowing, as well as the attention to every detail this series pays. Sound wise, if you have never seen a group of Chinese tourists, discussing some stuff in Chinese, which is simply impossible, to be honest, it might take you some time to get used to The King's Avatar. But when you do, you will understand that the Chinese voice actors did a pretty impressive job voicing their characters: they made it possible for the viewer to understand the emotions of their characters.
--Characters-- The main character cast consists of 4 characters. There are also many supporting characters, who also play a very important role in the story-line. The first main character is Xiu Ye. He is a carte de visite of Glory: he knows almost everything about the game, perhaps, even everything, he wrote many guides, and invented many playstyles. Although, he faces many difficulties, he never loses temper; he is always calm and thinks three steps ahead.
I am not going to describe you the rest of the cast, otherwise I will have to include spoilers, which I am not going to do. All I can say is that all characters are very interesting to follow. Be it a good guy, or be it a bad guy, they receive enough development and it is perfectly clear what they are trying to achieve. Also, as it has been already mentioned before, Chinese voice actors did one hell of a job voicing their characters, which did help the viewer to better understand the emotions and motives of their characters.
--Criticism-- It is an open secret that China is now trying to transform its domestic industry into a global producer of animation. There is even a foreign film quota, which only allows 34 foreign films, both live-action and animation, per year to be screened in China. Anyways, what I am trying to say is that I am perfectly fine with China making its stuff. Anime is becoming more and more average and because of that there should be more people with brand new ideas (like eSports in Quan Zhi Gao Shou.)
I also want to make one thing clear: the source material of this anime is a novel that contains 1728 chapters. And because of that, the anime is sometimes too fast paced and for those who have not read the web novel, some things might remain unexplained. And this is the only problem this anime has. However, they might be explained in the second season, or in whatever they make next, so time will tell.
--Overal-- All in all, this anime deserves 8/10. I would definitely suggest it to all the eSports and even to the non-eSports fans to watch this anime. There might be some things only people playing online games and following eSports tournaments will understand, but it should not be a problem for you. Quan Zhi Gao Shou is a great anime that does focus on the MMORPG elements, but, at the same time, it takes a brand new route that no anime has ever chosen before and I must say it does it pretty damn good. Hopefully, there will be season 2, a movie, or something like a continuation, because this series has some awesome source material.
Good job, China; you impressed me with this one.

Promising but not a finished article.
Violence is the name of the game for this anime.
But like a lot of anime the violence is only part of this entertaining show. The action is fast paced and the plot is simple and easy to follow. the characters are quite well developed and you do have some feeling when they eventually die or come to harm. There aren't too many huge plot twists like in a lot of other anime.
The only gripes I have are that i don't really like reading subtitles so i like English dubbed anime and they always use the same crappy voice actors.
...
the main characters voice is especially annoying.
It was also disappointing to get to part 12 only to realise that it wasn't the last episode and there was a whole other series that they haven't finished yet

So, this show is about pretty fun (not overly cool) fight scenes, a little bit about helping other people, and a lot about the love between the two main characters.
I was actually moved by the love Shu and Inori had--and I don't think I've ever been moved by a show, movie, or anime's love bond, but theirs was just something special.
The show is short; yet, it is easily just one of my favorites and I'll always keep it in my collection for another go-around in the future. I will say, while the last 11 episodes are packed with more action, the first 11 episodes are
...
better, and I strangely think the last 11 could have been summed up quicker--that's not to say they are slow, for they move faster than the first 11, it's just... well, you will see.
---
That being said, I really didn't like the ending at all, and to me, it's the ending that really makes me want to re-watch an anime. Still, I'd never give a show a 9 if the ending was bad, for it'd be a 7 or lower, but I really did enjoy it. Not to mention it's just beautiful animations.
---
IN SHORT: if you haven't watched it, do it. Set aside a week and just enjoy a few episodes at a time, and try to live in the relationship between the two main characters. Also, be sure to listen to the intro song for the first 11 episodes--I must have listened to it dozens of times.
Plot: 7/10
Music: 8/10
Characters: 9/10
Animation: 10/10
Overall Impression (I don't do averages for impressions): 9/10
