My only regret is that I could not give this anime a grade higher than 10/10.
The anime is a beautiful piece of art filled with well written dialogues, and a plot that is deep and rich with elements of fantasy. It has a huge cast of characters, whom are all colorfully designed, filled with depth, and mostly all very likeable, or at least warrant some kind of feeling towards them.
If all these aspects are present in the anime, how could there be a split decision of this anime being one of the best, and an anime that doesn't bear fruit? I feel most of
...
the dislikes comes from a misunderstanding, or a refusal to attribute something greater to a common event. After all, what is literature without meaning?
As I am part of the it is the anime being the best, I can only explain why it is so.
(May contain spoilers)
Natsuki Subaru is real. Despite the fantasy setting that he is just dropped into, he has no extraordinary power, no special abilities, and not even anything about him screams main character. He is your average teenager, whose only redeeming quality is his persistence and perseverance, and even that notion about him was challenged in Ep. 18. This is why when Subaru makes a decision, or if he feels a certain way, one can feel the real weight that Subaru bears and that is a connection that should resonate with anyone.
Honestly, if you follow this anime expecting all characters to get their own story, you're probably asking for too much. This is Subaru's story, and seeing him struggle through all the countless deaths to make things right is definitely a journey worth traveling with him.
Some argue about the repetitiveness of the plot and that it's rendered pointless due to his return by death, reverting everything back. At some point, some people might even want Subaru to die to return to fix things. If you're feeling this, I don't understand. The process to die, is painful. If this was not clear through all the suffering and gore, then the point wasn't made, or it was ignored as something trivial. The fact that Subaru does not even know that he can return after dying is also what holds him back, because any one of them can be his last. When he dies, everything is lost, and to feel this lost is something only we can share with Subaru, because obviously no one in the Anime can share it with him. With all this in mind, how can any of his death, or any of the gore, or any repetitive be pointless? If he remembers and knows how it feels, does this not only add to his character? I think it does.
Aside from those points, I do believe the anime is entertaining. The art is very pleasing to the eye and is well animated. The music is awesome and sets the atmosphere of the anime very well. The JP voice acting is superb also. I think they expressed all the characters perfectly. You can get a sense from them that it is filled with emotions.
This anime should be given a watch, and I believe everyone can enjoy it.
Side Note: I like the title of the last episode.

This LN/Anime/Manga will never betray you, but other ones might.
-Inspired by Hachiman
This is a must watch, must read, to anyone out there, whether you're young or old, it doesn't matter. If you're too young to understand, it's okay, one day it'll hit you. If you're too old, and all this is just trivial youth moments you don't care for, you've become bitter and this will definitely heal you.
As the title suggest, it is a romantic comedy, but not what you'd expect. The story is pretty standard, focusing on some high schoolers who are in a club together, not by choice, but by situation.
...
Where the plot of the story may have no real progression, the real progression is made through character development. There is nothing better than watching a character(s) you have invested in grow and change.
The story starts out pretty light, but it'll get heavy later.
The cast of characters are delightfully hilarious, and have their own distinct characteristics that makes them all likeable. The banter between all the characters will leave you feeling satisfied, because none of it really feels like it is wasted dialogue. It is a mix of sarcasm, dark humor, normal humor, all in one. Sometimes you'll see the characters have a dispute over something, both presenting sides that you sometimes would agree with, one more than the other, and find yourself at a standstill between 2 opposition.
There's not much one can say without spoiling, so I leave the reading up to you. It is an enjoyable read. You'll find yourself smiling like a creep sometimes, and I think that's just fine.
I am currently trying to add this LN/Manga to my collection as it slowly releases in the US. Worth.

Nisekoi is not your average romantic comedy, just slightly better than average. It's Romeo and Juliet with a little bit of twist, minus the tragedy, add comedy and harem. This manga deserves a read, despite some of the hate that this series had incurred.
The story is good and Naomi Koshi did a spectacular job at telling this story. Some might find the story cliche, but what's not new about a love story isn't a cliche in this day and age? The premise of the story is about a boy and a girl that promised to get married when they reunite in the future, in addition
...
to a locket and key to make the promise feel more concrete. Add the time skip, the story revolves around the boy, Raku Ichijo, and his hazy, vague recollection of the identity of the promise girl. In turn, you get to see all kinds of interaction between him and the cast of girl characters to reveal this plot of the story.
The characters are well drawn, each having their own unique features and personalities, making their entrances in any part of the manga refreshing and always enjoyable. Sometimes you'll find yourself calling one of the girl characters the best girl, and later calling another girl the best girl as their backstory is revealed. The character development has a good pacing, though some receive more attention than the other, you'll never really feel that it wasn't justified. The dialogues that exchanges between characters are not all that interesting and may feel like playful banter at times. However, there are times when the conversations between characters can get real deep, and touch on real world themes, making following their growth as characters all worthwhile.
Not really a spoiler:
Just a side note, the side characters, Ruri and Shu, are undoubtedly the characters with the most depth. They are possibly some of the best side characters you can ask for in any manga series.
In conclusion,
When reading most chapters, it will leave you with huge cliffhangers making you wanting eagerly to progress to the next to find out what happens. Sometimes it'll be a big reveal, sometimes, you'll be disappointed with no real conclusion, as the next chapter just feels like a filler. I don't particularly like to use the term filler when it comes to romantic comedy, because I feel it's all really just character development. I think that's where most readers are turned off by the series. They are repulsed by the fact that the story feels dragged, but in actuality it adds suspense and builds up the story. If this sounds like something you won't mind, I think you'll fully enjoy what Nisekoi has to offer, and it could possibly become one of your most loved series.
Nisekoi is littered with tear eye'd moments, and sometimes you'll find yourself grinning and laughing. The combination of both is what really makes this series such a fantastic read.
The downside to most romantic comedy is that it must end on a rather serious note. Nisekoi delivered that end perfectly.
I am a proud collector of the Manga series, and have no regrets adding this work of art to my collection.

There is a saying that all things fall apart to fall into place of something better. This movie has no loose ends, ties everything together very well, and concludes beautifully.
This movie is littered with literary devices. It is a masterpiece and a rare find for all the anime genres out there. There are not a plethora of these types of movies, so I highly recommend watching this one.
It is the classic tale of the hero rescuing the damsel in distress, but in this movie, both the hero and the damsel in distress are saved. That is the most beautiful thing about this movie. The young boy,
...
an aspiring shoemaker, saves the woman by helping her learn to walk again and in return, he, himself is saved.
"The Garden of Words", a fitting title for this masterpiece. Though ironic that few words were exchanged in this garden, the words that were exchanged are symbolic and exceptionally beautiful and is illustrated beautifully.
Everything about this movie is superb. If I was ever devoid of feelings, I certainly am no longer.

Take a small moment of your time to read this review, and I promise you an ending that will leave you unquestionably satisfied.
Love is like a movement. You'll start with nothing and come to realize that your surroundings are changing because of this feeling. It is very much like time. Time helps to move things along and it allows progress and development. Time also ages and devours all things. That is why there is nothing more lovely than knowing that everything doesn't last forever.
This is what makes this movie worthy of watching. What makes this movie so great is that you'll come to
...
realize how simple, how fragile, and how fickle life is. The two main character are bounded by time: the passing of the seasons, and their time together. Yet it is these moving of the seasons that allows us to understand the bond, the love, that these two share. For a 40 minute movie, this movie captured the essence of life.
After I watched this movie, I was left with an unsatisfying feeling. The realization was too cruel for me, but I believe that was the beauty of it.
The unsatisfied feeling is definitely the best kind of feeling. Just like how I started this review with a promise of satisfying you, I now leave you to that unsatisfied feeling from reading this, the same way that the movie had inflicted on me.
