The first half of the story is Boy has childhood friend he does not remember come live with him. Boy remembers her, Boy falls in love with her. Both admit their love and start dating, and then the second half happens. The story that she had a close friend that she liked but did not love. That she chose to date him as a form of dying wish is interesting, but also makes the main female character extremely shallow. I followed this series back when it was a webnove, and after reading it I knew it would be made in to an anime one day. this was LONG before SAO was anime or isekai was the norm.
When it finally was announced I was excited "finally it's getting what it deserves." and then I watched it and hated almost every other episode. This story starts out very strong in the first 30 chapters and then it drags it's feet through quicksand. The writer has decided that every character that is introduced that is not killed/destroyed is going to have their own story and be followed. This drags out the story to nowhere with no resolution on any aspect of the story. What makes it worse is the last battle in the story to be published takes up half the current produced content with 40+ chapters. Okay the issue I have with this story is the amount of continuity errors the story has. There are multiple points in the story where an issue is brought up and they explain that they have to hinder themselves by doing X thing to solve Y problem. Only for then a chapter or two latter or the next volume the logic to be undermined.
The best example I have which is the reason a lot of people think the main character is "cool" is the fact he uses rundown garbage gear. Latter it's shown that it's not run down just that he buys the worst ... |
