I just picked up this series on the recommendation of another person that said "if you like Invincible check out Reject Ranger," and although it isn't necessarily the same, it definitely fits within the new trend of "the heroes aren't necessarily the good guys." This review is coming after seeing just the first episode. Let's go back to when the series was first announced, there I was, honestly pumped when a series for Yasuke was announced. I was expecting a new action-packed historical drama. Something like Vinland Saga with its exploration of the real Scandinavian saga and history around the figure of Thorfinn, Vagabond, and its telling of Musashi Miyamoto, or even something like Samurai Champloo a fantastic series that brings us on an incredible journey through Japan.
