Seto no Hanayome is by far one of the best rom-coms I have ever seen. Although my horizons in the rom-com genre are quite narrow, the previous statement is still saying alot. As a person who loves to laugh but rarely does due to lack of comedic material, I found SnH quite amusing. This is an anime that took the harem and rom-com genre and made It into something original and genuinely funny.
Plot
Unfortunately, the plot was the one aspect of this series that was generic. It was a forced marriage conflict and how the people react and develop from it. Every episode, save the
...
last one, had little to no drama or impact but they were amusing nonetheless. This series lacks a deep plot, but I never expected one anyway. However, I was quite satisfied with the ending. The ending wrapped up everything into a neat package, which most harem/rom-com animes do not.
Characters
The characters were by far the most enjoyable part of the series. There were some character archtypes such as the tsundere, but most of the cast was very well-developed and unique. The two main characters, San and Nagasumi, had some very interesting chemistry. Their relationship was very predictable at first, but it turned into something that I could appreciate.
Art
I have to mention that this series uses ALOT of exaggerated expressions and random "chivalry" scenes. You'll know what I mean by the first episode. Art-wise, this series delivers relatively well. The drawings were very clean and detailed and the animation had no flaws as far as I could see.
Soundtrack
The opening was catchy and pleasant at first, but then it got irritating after the 10th playthrough. Same with the ending theme. The BGM was rather nice, but then I realized they only used like 8 songs throughout the whole series. It got a bit redundant but the hilarious scenes deviated my attention slightly.
Overall/Who Should Watch it
SnH is a true gem in the rom-com genre. It actually makes you laugh while retaining a good romantic plot and whatnot. Don't get me wrong, it's not groundbreaking nor is it a comedic masterpiece, but it was damn funny at the least. Anyone with a decent sense of humor can appreciate this show. Go check it out for a couple dozen laughs.

This review is going to be very biased. I have a hard-on for the modern day samurai thing so I couldn't help but give this anime a 9/10. Also, Samuel L Jackson is one of my favorite actors of all time. I am going to write this very biased review anyway because I fucking loved this show.
Story-
The story follows a young black man, I think he's 30 at the most, and his quest for vengeance against the man who killed his father. In this world, there are two headbands that "rank" a warrior's strength. The number one headband and the number two. Only the person
...
with the number 2 headband can challenge the number one, so many people are after this thing. The black man, Afro, had a father who was number one, but he was killed by a gunslinger named Justice. So, from there on, Afro trains himself to be the world's strongest warrior. Very generic, I know, but the whole father-son thing touched me quite a bit.
Art-
This series had a very high budget. The animation was amazing and the art style reminded me of some old samurai anime. Afro was portrayed very well and I thought he had the coolest hair and outfit ever. Nothing much to say really. Alot of money was spent on this series, so you get what you pay for. Oh yeah, and the fight scenes were cool as shit. I have never once seen a guy cut a bullet into tiny pieces and kill the guys surrounding him with the shrapnel.
Sound-
Nice hip-hop beats and some jazz mixed in there. The RZA did really well with the soundtrack. It reminded me of the BGM from Samurai Champloo, but alot edgier and more "oomf" to it. If you are a fan of hiphop/rap, you will not be dissapointed with the soundtrack. Oh, and Samuel L Jackon's voice was sexy. He got like 20 lines, but each line was cool as shit. And Justice had a pretty nice voice as well.
Character-
Afro, Justice, and the Ninja are the only characters I really liked in this anime. I really didn't give a crap about Afro's childhood peers, so I disliked all of them. Afro is a very chill dude. He smokes his joints and keeps to himself. The typical "lone wolf" but more badass. Justice had some very good quotes in my opinion. He was a man who had gotten drunk with power and it really reflected in his mannerisms and such. Ninja was funny as hell and he kept Afro's sanity in check.
Overall-
This anime was just cool as hell dude. I know it might be just me, but modern Samurais are the coolest thing ever. Whats cooler than a joint smoking samurai who fights with a style of breakdance and disciplined swordmanship? Anyway, if you like samurai stuff and/or hiphop, definitely check it out. It's very different from your conventional anime, but that's because it's Western. I fucking loved this series, but I can't guarantee the same for you.

You ever cut your eyes out with a butter knife? Well, you will know the experience once you watch School Days. I was on the verge of just staying in my room for a couple days and not even feeding myself. Yes, this anime was THAT bad. Now by bad, I mean something other than the traditional "shitty" or "garbage" most people are familiar with. I mean, it's just so god awful that it left a sour taste in my mouth. I will expand more on this feeling and provide you with a somewhat accurate portaryal of this steaming piece of doodoo.
Story:
The story is very
...
simple to begin with, but then become very "unwatchable". It follows the school life of some guy (I don't give a flying ass about his name) and his relationship with two girls. There is a loudmouthed overspoken girl, Sekai, and the shy, quiet girl, Kotonoha. The guy originally liked Kotonoha but then like most guys, he becomes sex deprived from this shy girl and decides to screw the other girl for "practice". Blah blah blah, a few boring sex scenes later, a problem arises. This loser guy is now a horndog with no consideration for women's feelings. I'm not gonna ruin this marvelous (bullshit) ending for you, but it is very, um, intriguing. (You ever hear of the famous boat scene? Yeah, there's a reason why it's so popular.)
Art:
The art was ok to look at. It wasn't outstanding or new, it had the art most animes follow nowadays. There wasn't much physical action or movement in this anime, save the ending, so it was near impossible for the animation to fail. The art was probably the only thing I didn't puke at in this anime.
Sound:
The BGM felt very monotonous and I skipped the ending and opening so I don't have a deep opinion here. However, I must say the music during the final scenes were quite nice. It really let the series climax. (haha climax. Get it? I used a sexual joke for a sexual anime!)
Characters:
Fuck you. No, not you. Fuck the characters. If I could meet the characters in real life, I would murder each one for the sake of my own sanity. Well, the guy's friend was kind of funny. He was horny too, but he didn't go overboard and he provided some comic relief. Anyway, back to my thoughts for the main characters. I would chop off the main guy's weiner for his overhorniness and complete disregard for women's emotions. I would stab Sekai with a trench knife for her overall attitude and lies. Then for Kotonoha, I would give her a cookie filled with cyanide and my dog's diarhhea dump. I will NOT describe these characters any further. Let me warn you. You will hate these characters so much, that you will end up hating yourself. Oooh philosophical. School Days suck sweaty asshole, Confucius say.
Enjoyment:
*Snicker*
Contrary to my review, go ahead and watch this series. Cmon, you know you want to. I ended up watching this anime through peer pressure, and even though I wanted to cut myself, it did teach me some valuable lessons about womanizers and pimps. It's worth a watch, even though you will hate me and yourself for it. I don't think you can really say you watched "everything" until you watched an amazing frustrating anime like School Days. Go watch it please.
Cheers, you poor bastards.

I'm going to keep this review very short. No thorough analysis of each section, just my overall opinion and mood after finishing this series.
Now, before you start hating me for giving this popular series only a 7, hear me out. When I first heard this series was a psychological horror involving cute, little girls, I was pretty perplexed. So, I started watching it and the first story arc completely blew my mind. I had no idea someone could warp such a nice little group of people into a bunch of maniacal assholes. Then, as the series progressed, each story arc had a little less impact
...
than the last. The scary aspect became very repetetive and I felt like just turning off my TV and actually going to work. All these random story arcs confused me, but the ending did clear some things up. Sadly, the payoff just wasn't worth it in my opinion.
In my honest opinion, the random story arcs were not really necessary. They could have just followed the first arc and continue the story with other characters who were alive. I didn't see the need to piece together all these progressively unamusing arcs and expect you to figure shit out like a detective. I'm not saying I wouldn't have enjoyed a little mystery solving, but I don't have the attention span to watch a series that "resets" every 4 or so episodes.
You ever see the Twilight Zone? That was one of the best TV shows ever. It created a mood of suspense, horror, and mystery that left you sweating and sometimes disturbed. They did all that under 30 minutes. It kept you guessing, prodding the plot, and made you scared or at least mildly disturbed. I'm know I'm rambling on here, but if a show can do all that in less than 30 minutes, why can't this one do it across the span of 26 24 minute episodes?

Anime seems to be very tame these days. If it isn't about whiny high school kids living their boring ass lives, it's about overachieving, insane kids with magical notebooks (cough Deathnote). I like these kinds of animes as much as the next guy, but sometimes I feel like doing nothing more than bathe in my own testosterone and achieve a massive erection looking at either tits, guns, or cars. Enter, Black Lagoon. An anime with tits, guns, AND cars. Expect testosterone, and lot's of it.
Story-
The story is as generic as it can get. Some pussy ass bitch decides to change his life and he starts
...
to do dangerous and badass things. Rock, the main character, is a brown nosing Japanese business man who is sent on a business trip to South Asia or somewhere around there. He is then kidnapped by a group of pirates/mercenaries called the Lagoon Company. Rock then has an epiphany or something and decides to live the hazardous life of a mercenary. This story has definitely been used multiple times in countless action movies. However, I never saw recycled action movie plots as a bad thing. It seems to attract the majority of males, so why not? The story itself is very cliche and overused, but since I am a healthy man, I loved it anyway.
Characters-
At first glance the cast may seem to have generic written all over it, but it is special in it's own sense. The Lagoon Company consists of a pussy, a white computer guy, a buff black guy, and an insane triggerhappy monster of a woman. There's not much character development besides Rock, but you will find at least one character you will like. There is a rather large variety of characters and each one has a dark past of some sort. One of the aspects I liked about the characters was that almost everyone was interesting. In fact, my favorite character was Balalaika, who is a supporting character. All of the characters are very realistic and each one has his/her own unique personality and mannerisms.
Art and Animation
I could tell that Black Lagoon had a rather high animation budget. All the explosions and battles were animated smoothly. I felt like I was watching Die Hard or something. The art is nothing new or innovative, but all the characters and backgrounds are drawn superbly. The colors are quite vivid and contribute to the overall atmosphere.
Sound-
I feel like mentioning the opening is a must. The opening is a J-Rock song and it fits perfectly with the series. From the moment I heard it I knew this was going to be an intense anime with lots of violence. Not to my surprise, I was right. The BGM is also very good and contributes to the mood of the current scene. The ending was the only dissapointment in the soundtrack department. I expected another hardcore rock song, but all I got was a depressing, quiet melody.
Overall-
Black Lagoon is a series any MAN can enjoy. Some women might like it too but men will enjoy it more. I feel like this anime was made by a group of muscular men drinking beer and lifting weights. Almost every part of this anime is action packed and there are so many gunfights and shit that I turned into a brainless neandrathal for a whole week. Watch this anime with lots of action and violence in mind and you will no doubt enjoy it. This series is a must watch for any action fan. Thanks for reading yo.
Black Lagoon- 9/10

Kaiji is an anime you would probably avoid at first glance. To be honest, I did too when I first saw it. It stayed in the back of my mind for a few months until a friend told me it was great and I found out that the artist and creator was Korean. So, with a bit of reluctance, I started viewing Kaiji and I was blown away. The artstyle quickly became very enjoyable and I didn't mind the pointy noses or weird eyes after the first episode. If you are avoiding this anime due to the odd artstyle, do yourself a favor and stop
...
being so picky. The art is only a small portion of an anime and it can be easily overlooked if an anime has a great cast and a good plot. Please read the following review and try to muster up the enthusiasm to watch this series.
Characters-
The cast of Kaiji is relatively small because the story revolves around the main characters thoughts and emotions. My favorite character is definitely Itou Kaiji because he is such an ordinary guy. If you have seen animes like Akagi and Deathnote, you will realized how unrealistic the intelligence level of some characters can be. Kaiji is just an average guy with a dead-end job and only becomes quick-witted and devious through the games he is forced to play. His tricks and lies are never over the top with every possible variable falling into the right place. Kaiji screws up like everyone else but he has determination beyond any average person. I found myself cheering for Kaiji and wishing the best for him throughout the series. This, in my opinion, is the way you can tell if a character is very well developed and likable.
Artstyle-
There's not that much to say about the art in Kaiji. It is very unusual compared to most animes and it looks much more "cartoonish". Each person and object is darkly bolded with a black outline and the characters are a solid color with no realistic shading or hues. This is not a con however. The simple and unique artstyle makes it visually appealing after a first few minutes. Do not be turned off by the artstyle because you will eventually forget about it or love it altogether.
Sound-
The soundtrack of Kaiji is not stellar or amazing, but it does set the right mood of the series. Most of the music is very suspenseful and thrilling and there are some relaxing and happy BGM as well. Don't watch Kaiji just for the soundtrack because you will be dissapointed in that sense. This isn't Bebop or anything of the sort.
Story-
I can't reveal too much of the story but I can say ALOT more events happen than what is written in the synopsis. After the night on the ship, Kaiji goes through a couple more dangerous gambles. The story is nothing that hasn't be done before, but it still has very entertaining twists and turns. This series had me hooked from episode one and I was so dissapointed when it ended after only 26 episodes. It could have gone a little bit longer, but I am not complaining. Kaiji, in my opinion, has one of the most enthralling and interesting storylines in anime. I regretted no part of finishing this series and the last episode left a very deep impression on me.
Overall-
Kaiji is a series for those who have a lengthy attention span and have a hard-on for thrillers and suspense. It's an anime that makes you think a little bit, but that makes the series much more enjoyable. Don't watch Kaiji expecting brutal violence and adrenaline pupming action. It does have a few violent scenes here and there but Kaiji is only enjoyable if you watch it from an intelligent perspective. I hope this review convinced you to start this series. Thanks for reading folks.
Kaiji- 9/10

There are just so many vampire themed animes nowadays. Blood+, Trinity Blood, Vampire Knight, the list goes on and on. Then, once in a long awaited while, you find a gem in the ocean of piss and whale excrement. Oh, this review is going to have alot of vulgarity because I feel that gives off the right vibe for this review. As I was saying, the gem that you find will be Hellsing Ultimate. No, not Hellsing the TV series, that series gave my dog AIDS. In two words I can sum this anime up; Fucking Awesome.
Story
You already know the story. Its about a
...
badass vampire named Alucard (thats Dracula backwards) who is a slave of the Hellsing Organization. Hellsing is a organization that hunts and kills unwanted vampires with the help of Alucard. Blah blah blah things are dandy until some fat Neo Nazi major decides to start an army of ghouls/vampires and destroy London and the Hellsing organization. Then, bitches go crazy and shit starts blowing up. If you want a deep story with drama and romance you can fuck off and go watch Clannad while wanking off to your Haruhi Suzumiya poster. You will not find deep meaning or morals from this anime. Think with a simple state of mind. Nazi zombie thingies are invading and a badass vampire (Alucard), his chain-smoking boss (Sir Integra Hellsing) and his big breasted assistant (Seras Victoria) are gonna kill every last one of them. I gotta love the storyline for its simplicity. It reminds me of a videogame. Its so easy to understand and it doesnt fuck with your head. It gets a 10/10.
Characters
I am going to give a big explaination about each character because you should know already I love talking about this anime. Alucard is a vampire, Integra is his master/boss, Seras Victoria is Alucards assistant, and the Neo Nazi major is some fuck up with alot of Nazi bitches. Theres really no character development, although a little bit of Alucards past is revealed and you see how sadistic and twisted he is. Alucard is by far the most evil "hero" I have seen. He enjoys torturing his enemies and rarely kills them before completely stripping them of their dignity. In short, he's more of a villain than a hero due to his lack of morals. Do not expect a compassionate, honorable character. He fucks shit up and he enjoys doing it. Integra is just so hard to read and very little is revealed about her. She is the head of Hellsing and likes to smoke cigars is all you need to know. Seras Victoria is probably the most likeable character. She has double D's and has a very happy go lucky attitude. Although she becomes a bloodthirsty vampire, she retains her sweet personality. Almost nothing is revealed about the Major but he is the character that intrigued me the most. On the surface, he is a polite, but loud man who likes to take command. But on the inside he is a homicidal war maniac with a hard-on for blood and violence. He has many memorable quotes about war. I really hate this guy but I can't help being curious.
Animation and Art
Hellsing Ultimate is an OVA series so expect top grade art and animation quality. The actions and facial movements are executed flawlessly. The fight scenes were very smooth and the blood and gore was portrayed very well. From the explosions to exploding heads, there is not much that can be said. Just great.
Action
In no way, shape, or form is Hellsing Ultimate an anime for children. Every fight scene is amazingly brutal and lots of people end up dying in a myriad of ways. From the first episode I could tell that this anime was over the top. I fucking love it for that. No other anime features crazy ass priests with hundreds of swords killing Nazi zombies. I mean, each fight scene is just so gory and explicit I can't help but get a boner. If you like guns, swords, and mutilated bodies, this anime will not dissapoint. From being impaled by a 8 foot rifle to being decapitated with a karate chop, this amine has every hellish way of dying. Even if you hate everything else, you will definitely love the action.
Overall enjoyment
All these elements are combined into a bloody, well wrapped packaged. Hellsing Ultimate may sound like a half assed, over the top anime, but it follows the rule of cool. The rule of cool is when an anime is just so fucking brutal and awesome that it seems like a masterpiece even with all of its flaws. Do yourself a favor. Stop watching Naruto and making Death Note fan fiction and watch this anime. Grow some balls and watch it already. It will not dissapoint.
