Nomad Megalo Box 2 is a sequel I never knew I needed. I loved season 1 but had a pretty closed ending so there was never hope for a sequel but here it is and boy was it amazing.
Story: 9/10
The story is really good and is vastly different from the first season. It still contains the Megalo boxing aspect of the show but the story has evolved way more than that and this season has a way more somber and serious tone than the first season. I really can't say much more without delving into spoiler territory.
Art: 9/10
The aesthetic of the anime and all the
...
fight sequences are even better from the first season. TMS knocked it out of the park with the visuals and succeeded using the 80s art style.
Sound: 10/10
The soundtrack by Mabanua is absolutely stellar. This season's soundtrack is way more somber and has Spanish tones rather than the more upbeat soundtrack of the first season. Although the soundtrack does return in the last episode and I had goosebumps everywhere.
Characters: 10/10
The amount of character development Joe has from start to end is absolutely astonishing. All the characters are extremely realistic and have motives on why they do what they are doing and the characters of Chief and Mac had some amazing development as well that progress the plot forward and never hinders it
Enjoyment: 10/10
This had to be the anime I was eagerly waiting every week and kept refreshing the page just to see if the episode finally popped up and the whole journey with Joe, Mac, Chief and all the other side characters had a very good conclusion to it.
Anime of the season!
