I decided to check this manga out due to the impending anime that's coming up in July. People like to make comparisons with the Sono Bisque Doll vs. 2.5 Dimensional due to their similarity in cosplay, but they're very different.
You're introduced to Okumura first, and he's not interested in real-life girls since he's in love with a character called Lilliel, who is a sexy magical girl. Soon, he later meets with Lilysa, who is also a fan of Lillel, and the two form a friendship over their love for their favorite character. Later, you meet other girls who join the duo, including Okumura's
...
childhood friend, Mikari, who is in love with Okurmura and competes for his love.
This series has a lot of ecchi, especially in the first few chapters, which can be pretty cringy to get through at first, but later it does fizzle out a lot. It still has some ecchi, but not as much since the story grows more into the comedy and SoL aspect, which is enjoyable.
As for the romance, this is where it pretty much frustrated me. The romance tends to not be fully developed between Okurmura and Lilysa but it's more developed in one of the side characters. Over 160 chapters later, Okurmura still hasn't chosen who he wants to be with yet and still has to overcome his trauma. He also tends to become more of a background character later on in the series and the girls tend to become mainly focused, which is okay since I do think the girls carry this series hard but it felt like at times, his character was a bit erased. Compared to having this issue within Sono Bisque Doll as being a slow burn with the "will or will they" aspect, I thought the romance would be more developed for Okumura with who he chooses since it has more chapters than SBD.
This series may be for you if you like cosplay with a shounen touch of having cosplay battles and establishing friendships between otakus but if you don't like ecchi or slow romance development within the main cast of Okumura and the girls, it's not for you.

Raeliana? Um, this show is romance isekai that a young woman named Park, dies after being pushed off a building and transported into another world as a young noblewoman named Raeliana and meets a duke named Noah and they made an agreement to fake an engagement to change the original story of the plot.
The show has its cute moments when it comes to romance but overall, the plot is boring. As many isekai romance shows have come and go in the last few years, this another one to probably use background noise since barely anything interesting happens.
As for the characters, Raeliana is very intelligent
...
but since Park is reincarnated into her body, it's very cliché and Noah is very charming and flirty towards her even though they both know their engagement is fake and we already know what happens in the end.
The visuals has the saturation and brightness levels on 100 which can be a bit tough to watch.
Overall, just another cliché isekai rom com that is very tropey and boring.

A-1 Pictures presented this anime original that became an Summer 2022 season banger.
Lycoris Recoil is about orphan girls who become part of Japan’s military organization of “assassins”. It follows with two girls named, Chisato and Takina that works ordinary jobs at a cute little cafe in downtown Japan by day but at night, they carry out missions terminating the country’s criminals.
Chisato and Takina’s relationship tends to be a balanced and growing friendship that their personalities are opposite but bounce off one another in a positive way. Chisato is more upbeat and energetic while Takina is reserved and calm. (Reminds me off Setsuna and
...
Towa from “Yashahime”)
The opening and ending songs have great, never expected less with A-1 getting the best music for their shows.
Even though, there will be an manga for this new original series coming this year, the story is piecing itself together at a great pace that can be easy for the viewers to follow.

One of the best new shows of Spring 2022!
I had a blast watching this show and it took me the first episode to get me hooked to this series.
What’s Spy Family about?
Loid Forger (real name unknown) is the world’s best spy that works for the WISE organization and he was given a mission to create a fake family in order to get intel on his target, Donovan Desmond, the chairman of the Unity Party that is planning to push the world into a full-scale war who also has a son, Damian, goes the the prestige school called Eden Academy. Loid adopts a pinked-hair girl named
...
Anya, from an orphanage that she had previously been adopted 4 times in the past because of her hidden power, telepathy and marries an woman named Yor Briar, who works as an assistant by day but at night as an assassin known as the “Thorn Princess” that brings them together that neither knows what secrets they hold as they appear to look like a “normal” family.
This show is not only action packed but it is wrapped with wholesomeness of having a caring family with a side of humor that occurs in their daily lives which makes this show perfectly balanced of the one of the best selling manga series come to life on the screen.
With the growing hype of an already huge fanbase, I see a great future for this anime series to become a new classic to the slice of life genre.

Kimetsu No Yaiba.
Mind y’all, this anime has risen to top of the charts beginning of 2019 and the popularity has spread like wildfire and continues to dominate even after the manga ended 2 years ago.
I have avoided watching this show for a while because not only I thought since everybody was talking about it since it premiered but decided to not watch it because of others but for myself.
Kimestu No Yaiba caught my eye while they were airing their second season this year by not only their music but colorful and spirited characters. Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira, was suppose to have taken Rengoku Kyojuro’s
...
place after his death from fighting with Akaza in the first season (or first half of the second season) to mentor younger Demon Slayers, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke and Zenitsu in the journey of taking down Muzan (leader of the 12 Demon Moons).
The Story: simple, right? Guy seen his whole family killed except his sister, sister turns into a demon, wants to turn his sister back human, and find the enemy to get revenge for himself, his sister, and his deceased family. That’s it, not that hard to follow but also not complex with a whole bunch of storylines to make the plot more mysterious and confusing that doesn’t take many seasons to find out what the plot is about. You do not need have a lot of plot lines to make a good story and KNY has accomplished that.
The Art: JESUS CHRIST… Ufotable must have an infinity budget because they do spend their money but not giving us cheap animation but the BEST and I mean “SETTING THE BAR” type of best animation. The beauty of Tanjiro’s move of “Hinagami Kagura” to Uzui’s “Musical Score” turns this show to an actual movie in the fight/action scenes.
The Music: PHENOMENAL. Created new soundtracks to give more depth of the characters’ and their own back stories as well as the battle scenes.
The Characters: Being introduced to Uzui’s wives, Hinatsuru, Suma, and Makio has been exciting to watch. The wives are not only similar looking to the trio of Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu but personalities too while having a loving relationship with their husband and each other. Daki and Gyutaro were great as well, even though they were the villains this season, their sibling relationship is just like Tanjiro and Nezuko, sticking together when they have nobody else.
Overall, Kimetsu no Yaiba has gain another fan and I look forward to the next season and I do believe when this anime ends, it will seal itself as one of the greatest animes of all time, a worthy classic no doubt.

Jeez, the top reviews of this anime is majority negative. Anyway, Sono Bisque Doll was such an enjoyment for me to experience Winter 2022, not only because of its popularity but it was the highlight for me since I always anticipated every week because of the growing love story between Wakana and Marin.
What is the story about?
Wakana Gojo fell in love with making Hina Dolls at a young age to only be shamed about his love for Hina Dolls by a childhood friend which closes him away from the world and people because of his emotional trauma of having something dear to him being looked
...
down upon. Marin Kitagawa, the most popular and beloved girl at her school finds out one day that her outcast classmate, Wakana Gojo can sow clothes but not actually clothes for humans but mainly for Hina Dolls and they begin a friendship where Marin gets to experience her dream of cosplaying her favorite anime characters in real life while Wakana experiences bringing his craft of making clothes for Hina Dolls and transforming them onto a real girl, Marin.
Now, there was a lot talk about this anime having too much “fanservice” (whatever the hell that means) but I disagree. As for having ecchi, mind you that Wakana and Marin are TEENAGERS with raging HORMONES so of course scenes in this anime can so hot and steamy but that’s the experience of being young and in love but the story turns it into a wholesome experience as well.
Wakana and Marin not sharing a hobby together which is Cosplaying but making each other grow in their characters. Marin’s outgoing personality brings Wakana out his shell and not be afraid to experience new things in the real world after shutting himself out for years while Wakana’s reserved personality bring Marin to connect to her emotional side that helps her appreciate life’s small details when it comes to bringing her favorite characters to life.
I really loved how Cloverworks brought this romantic manga to life and I hope to see more of Marin and Wakana in the future for another season because this show’s popularity made the manga sells over 3 million copies, over 19k and counting DVD sales, and over 200k Twitter followers and I do not see the hype dying down anytime soon since this growing fanbase is eager to see more of this developing couple! Here’s to a bright and successful season 2 (that we’re waiting to be announced lol)

Honestly, Crunchyroll took their time developing this show because I am honestly hooked and only 4 episodes have aired right now.
As an anime watcher, it takes a lot for me to be invested in a show because I tend to get bored very quickly and I don't really watch any of the most popular anime right now because I tend to look for good ones that people do not really give any recognition.
Fena is not only a beauty but she is determined and courageous to find out why her father left the stone to her since she may come from royalty but since
...
her father is deceased and escaped a brothel to avoid marriage to an abusive and greedy British sailor, she is on a journey not only to find out the clues to the stone but also self-discovery of herself and her family name. (Yona of the Dawn vibes)
Not to mention, she is part of a crew of pirate ninjas called the "Goblin Knights", which also includes her childhood friend, Yukimaru, who is the leader of the unique squad. Yukimaru tends to be an introverted bodyguard for Fena's family and led her to safety on the night of her father's death by the invasion of pirates on the sea, separating the two for 10 years. Her reuniting with her long-lost childhood friend starts her adventure with him and his squad while rekindling their friendship along the way as well as creating new relationships with his team; each member brings their own spunk to make the group fun yet serious.
The visuals of this show are off the charts, I love the small details when it comes to the scenery of the ocean and small towns the crew visits, very realistic.
The musical score is excellent as it gives off the mood for a certain scene in the episodes whether it's during a battle against enemies to a bonding session with the crew, beautifully done.
Overall, I think this show is definitely worth a watch, don't watch with expectations if you think you got it figured out because it will leave you wanting more due to the mystery in the plot, and just give it chance, each episode will leave you asking questions that will keep you interested in watching to find out.
