first off i dont recommend this anime in general bc it took me too much willpower and the knowledge that the show is loved by many to get through whatever season 1 was and most of the characters of kny are so bad i cant recommend it. but if youve made it this far, might as well watch this season. many people say everything before this season was good, even great. for me personally, getting through season 1 was torturous, everything before the spider family arc was boring annoying and the characters suck. i went on with a heart full of hope that the rest ... has to be amazing because why would this series be so hyped? the movie and season 2 were fine, nothing amazing but at least i found some likeable characters and yes the fights are just too damn good.
but lets get to this season.

i wont recap the plot, ill just write down whats on my mind having finished it yesterday.
MINOR SPOILERS
first off, the positives: zenitsu was barely in it (if he was at all, i dont remember) and hes the worst character in existence so thats a huge plus. same goes for inosuke, though i dont hate him, he grew on me during season 2.
instead we focus on other characters: muichiro (mist hashira), kanroji (love hashira) and genya (bakugo 2.0 and brother of wind hashira). genya is fine, not the greatest character but for kny standards hes alright, i dont care much about him though, but i really dont mind him.

kanroji.. shes one of two female hashira so i really REALLY wanted her to be cool and not some classic anime girl and oh boy. first of all, her reason for joining the demon slayer corps was.. so that she could date a strong hashira… no comment. we later learn her backstory and i like it to some degree. apparently she is born different, super strong and no men wanted to date her, she didnt know what to do with her strenght and if she would ever be accepted anywhere. i really like this. i dont like her whining about needing to be saved and that she cant do shit and simping for men (seriously the women in this anime are especially bad, apart from shinobu maybe, theyre all the same cliche i hate it). oh and of course shes the LOVE hashira (i dont even know how that power works but hey love. cute. boobs). based on her backstory she could be strong and fierce but no, despite being one of the strongest women in the anime she still got the cutesy, boobs out, simping for men treatment. its a personal pet peeve i just cant with it.

anyway moving on to the best character, muichiro. i could watch him all day, hes the only one thats likeable, not annoying, makes sense and is goddamn funny. his interaction with the upper rank had me rolling on the floor. i dont even know what to critisize about him really, him being stuck in a water vase for 3 episodes failing to get out just to launch one final attack that works is dumb but it fits the nonsense writing of the anime ig. if it wasnt for him this season would have gotten a worse rating.

now some general issues. tanjiro is always the same (i cant believe he is somewhat growing on me i couldnt stand him but maybe im just getting used to him) theres not much to talk about him. still continues to run around with fatal injuries, getting more fatal injuries, suddenly he remembers sth or has an awakening and kills the demon.
oh yeah about that, idk what the demons are on about humans being weak, most of the time the humans in this show are more indestructible than the demons. the demons… remember when tengen beheaded daki and her brother showed up? that was a cool concept and i was like ohh wait its not over?! yea well that seems to be the running theme now, and while i maybe get that thats just the thing with the upper moons.. why do they all wait until their “weakest forms” are beheaded to go SIKE! and turn into their stronger forms, do they just do that for fun? whn that little rat upper 4 was killed like 16 times and then it still wasnt dead it just got annoying. just stop throwing these “sike! hes not dead, hes even stronger now” moments at us, it loses its spark really fast.
there wasnt really much plot they just fight the upper moons ig.

to wrap whatever this little rant was up, i think its better than season 1 and thats really not saying much. (if you liked season 1 but hate this idk how to help you) it had some funny moments 99% of them thanks to muichiro. the upper moons are interesting characters, MUCH more interesting than the main characters and idk if thats a good thing, but as ive made it this far, im actually interested to see where the story goes. not because i care about tanjiro but because of what happens next with the upper moons and whats going on with nezuko. so i hate it but to some degree its a guilty pleasure of mine.
